Comparative effects of balance exercise and routine physical therapy exercise on knee function and fall risk in patients with knee osteoarthritis
The most common musculoskeletal disease is knee osteoarthritis among older people. This
disease can lead to postural impairments, causing instability, which reduces balance and
increases the patient's risk of falling as the disease progresses. This study aimed to evaluate
the effects of knee strengthening exercises on reducing the risk of falls among knee
osteoarthritis patients. The research settings were the District headquarter Hospital Chiniot,
Anmol, and Chiniot General Hospital, Faisalabad. Thirty-two patients with knee osteoarthritis
aged 40-60 years were equally divided into two groups. Treatment applied for 4 weeks
consisting of three sessions a week. The intervention group received balance exercise and
conventional therapy, while the control group received only conventional therapy, including
stretching and strengthening exercises. Outcome measures such as Knee Injury and
Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) and Berg Balance Scale (BBS) were filled out before
and after treatment. An independent t-test was applied to compare the intergroup. After 4
weeks of treatment, no statistical difference was found between the two groups regarding knee
function (P>0.05). However, the intervention group showed more improvement in the balance
of patients than the control group (P›0.013). Balance exercises were proven to reduce fall risk
and improve balance in knee osteoarthritis patients, but these exercises do not significantly
affect knee function in comparison to routine physical therapy exercises
Evaluation of physico-chemical and sensory properties of tarts by incorporation of broccoli sprouts powder
This study describes the development of tarts by the incorporation of broccoli sprouts powder
(BSP). The current study was aimed to assess the quality attributes of tarts prepared with
broccoli sprouts (Brassica oleracea L. var. italica) powder. The tarts were formulated using
different treatments (labelled as T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4) including Broccoli Sprouts Powder in
the ratio of 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8% respectively. The tarts were analyzed for its quality characteristics
including physico-chemical, rheological, shelf-life and sensorial properties. The newly
formulated tarts showed greater fat, protein, fibre, and ash content with the increasing
concentration of broccoli powder. The moisture and carbohydrate content showed a decreasing
trend. The incorporation of broccoli sprouts powder significantly (P<0.05) increased the
phenolic and antioxidant capacity of the tarts. Broccoli-containing tarts also showed a
reduction in lightness but a greener hue, providing a darker appearance to the tarts. The textural
characteristics such as hardness decreased while, density, weight and spread ratio increased by
the incorporation of powder. The incorporation of broccolis sprouts up to 6% showed an
optimal balance between enhanced nutritional value and desirable sensory characteristics. The
findings present opportunities for growth of food manufacturers as broccoli sprout powder can
also be used for preparation of novel baked goods

Objective: This paper examines Verdoorn hypothesis for Pakistan with its trading partners, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. The another objective of this paper is to analyse shortrun and longrun association between intra-industry trade and its determinants, population growth, free trade agreement, term of trade and economic growth.
Research Gap: In Authors’ best knowledge, few research papers have analysed benefits of intra-industry trade and incorporate its determinants for four trading partners countries Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Grubel and Lloyd Index employed to estimate Intra-Industry Trade. The paper also estimates ARDL cointegration test, with three estimators Pooled Mean Group (PMG), Mean Group (MG), and Dynamic Fixed Effect (DFE), and Error Correction Model to find out shortrun and long-run association between intra-industry trade and its factors for Pakistan with its trading Partners by using panel data from 2000 to 2002.
The Main Findings: Verdoorn Index has found positive for Pakistan and ARDL model also found long-run cointegration with speed of adjustment 1.6014. Population growth and terms of trade are positively associated with intra-industry Trade in the shortrun but these variables are insignificant with intra-industry trade in the long-run for Pakistan. The free trade agreement and real GDP, both, are positively associated long-run and shortrun with intra-industry trade.
Theoretical / Practical Implications of the Findings: The policymakers should diversify Pakistan international trade and improve infrastructure to reduce transport cost and other cost to expand economic growth.
Originality/Value: Some research papers have analysed IIT for Pakistan but these research papers do not consider impact of these determinants on Intra-industry trade for Pakistan and its trading partners

The Interaction of Religious Parties in Pakistani Politics: Mobilization and Electoral Dynamics
This paper explores the intricate relationship between religious parties, electoral dynamics, and religious mobilization in the context of Pakistani politics. Pakistan, a country with a significant Muslim majority, has witnessed the emergence and consolidation of religious parties that wield considerable influence in shaping the political landscape. Drawing upon a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical evidence, this study delves into the multifaceted role played by religious parties and their impact on the democratic process. The analysis begins by examining the electoral dynamics shaped by religious mobilization, wherein political actors leverage religious identity and rhetoric to mobilize support among diverse segments of the electorate. Religious leaders and institutions play a pivotal role in this process, using their influence to sway voter sentiment and shape electoral outcomes. Issues such as the implementation of Sharia law, protection of Islamic values, and defense of religious rights are frequently invoked during electoral campaigns, underscoring the significance of religion in shaping political discourse.
The paper explores religious party strategies in Pakistani politics, including organizing gatherings, using religious symbols, and forging alliances. These tactics influence electoral dynamics, attracting conservative support. However, concerns arise about their potential to undermine democratic principles, exacerbate societal divisions, and hinder inclusive governance, despite their contribution to political pluralism. The paper underscores the complex interplay between religious parties, electoral dynamics, and religious mobilization in Pakistani politics. By shedding light on the role of religious actors in shaping the political landscape, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities inherent in the intersection of religion and democracy in Pakistan

It is no wonder that prophetic speech receives the attention of rhetoricians, and that books and works write about it at all times. It is one of the highest and most honorable speech. It increases in generosity, goodness, generosity, and beauty as time progresses over it. The Prophet (SWT) bore witness to that, as People knowledgeable about the arts of speech and the layers of speech testified to his high eloquence. The hadiths of our Prophet (SWT) included all kinds of rhetoric, beauty and eloquence. Because the hadiths are also inspired by Almighty Allah. Because simile is a method of sophisticated expression in Arabic, with which speech is sweet, loud, sublime, and sublime. We see it in the Holy Qur’an, the Prophet’s hadith, and in poetry and prose, because of its ability to influence, express, clarify, and persuade. The study was limited to mentioning some examples from Sahih Muslim.

Blended Learning, Learning Motivation, and Academic Performance in Undergraduate Science Students
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic blended learning (BL) has seen an exponential rise across the globe. Data on the effectiveness of BL have mostly come from developed Western countries which are essentially different from developing countries like Pakistan. This study aims to indigenously explore the relationship between students’ views regarding blended learning (BL) and its effect on their academic achievement, possibly mediated by their learning motivation, in undergraduate science students of Pakistan. The participants included 239 (46.4%) male and 276 (53.4%) female students, aged 19 through 24 (Mage = 20, SD = 3.42), taken from GC University, Lahore, and Punjab University, Lahore. All the participants reported having a rich experience of BL during the Covid-19 pandemic. Learners’ Views on Blended Learning (BL), and Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MLSQ) were used to take data from the participants, and their GPAs were taken as their academic achievement. The results indicated that positive views of students’ regarding BL are likely to enhance their learning motivation, whereas BL and learning motivation are likely to enhance their academic achievement. Further, learning motivation is also likely to mediate the relationship between BL and academic achievement. The results are consistent with most studies conducted in the West and support the generalizability and implementation of the Western BL models in the socio-cultural context of Pakistan. However, there is a need for further in-depth Indigenous studies on other aspects of BL before policy making and implementation.
