Islam has established specific rights and responsibilities for both spouses to safeguard familial relationships from disputes and conflicts. Failure to fulfill these obligations, as well as excesses or deficiencies, not only creates discord between spouses but also gradually affects the entire family. Children and other family members connected to the couple also suffer, indirectly contributing to societal unrest and anxiety. In society, women often appear as victims of oppression, while men are frequently portrayed as oppressors. Indeed, many men fall short in treating their wives with kindness and respect. Today’s family life faces numerous challenges, leading to marital relationships—which should ideally be a source of peace, love, and tranquility—turning into causes of mutual hatred, hostility, and grievances. Consequently, family life is profoundly affected, and new issues continue to emerge. The article identifies some of these problems and outlines guiding principles for their resolution based on the example of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

This research paper aimsto spotlight the political domain and draw comparisons between parliamentaryand military regimes regarding the inclusion of minority representatives and theirroles in serving the nation and managing portfolios in the federal cabinets ofPakistan. Minority ministers not only received cabinet representation but alsoactively participated in the policy-making process and contributed to thedevelopment of both the nation and their respective communities. They heldministerial positions in crucial areas such as Law, Health, Education, and Labour, playing a significant role in these domains. A comparative analysis of minorityrepresentation in parliamentary and military regimes (1947-1999) reveals thatparliamentary systems were more accommodating towards minorities, particularlyin terms of providing them with opportunities in the cabinet and other politicalinstitutions. However, it should be noted that minority representatives wereallotted lesser space in military governments than democratic governments. A GMM analysis is conducted on the long-term debt ratio of non-financial listed companies on the Pakistan Stock Exchange for 2013–2022. Board meetings, the dual role of chief executive officers, short-term debt, and committee work positively affect the long-term debt ratio. So, it’s reasonable to assume that companies with more short-term debt, more frequent board meetings, CEO duality, and active board committees will also have more long-term debt. However, when an internal auditor is present, the long-term debt ratio tends to be lower. Additionally, a positive and statistically significant association exists between the long-term debt ratio and control variables such as Tobin’s Q, ROA, and ROE. This suggests that firms with greater market valuations and profitability metrics have higher long-term debt. Diagnostic statistics verify the model’s robustness by verifying the validity of the over-identifying restrictions and the absence of substantial autocorrelation in the residuals. This investigation enhances comprehension of the dynamics of financial structure and corporate governance in the context of an emerging market

    Get PDF
This paper undertakes empirical and theoretical research on the functioning of digital and Islamic banks in Pakistan, focusing on the growth, models, customer satisfaction, and performance indicators. Islamic banks that operate in line with Shariah laws incorporate some profit-loss sharing mechanisms and have garnered immense growth the world over. On the other hand, digital banks operate strictly online and provide ease and efficiency through easy and fast services to their customers. This study gauges the efficacy of these banking modes in Pakistan based on metrics that include efficiency, liquidity, asset quality, and leverage ratios. The study further collected data from 293 respondents in major Pakistani cities through a well-structured questionnaire that gathered their banking experience. These results give insights into levels of customer satisfaction with the Islamic banks posting impressive performances in many aspects. The paper assumes significance in the continued study of both Islamic and digital banking systems as they affect consumer behavior and the financial sector, with the importance of addressing more current issues arising within the limited sample size and data collection techniques. Islamic banking in Pakistan has seen the light of the day, and in countries with Islamic dominance, further innovation and growth should be nurtured, perhaps to match consumer demand and upcoming challenges in regulation. Islamic banks can further their competitive advantage with strides in technology, openness, and innovation in their services
