The Qur’ānic Philosophy of Human Existence and the Pursuit of Equity and Economic Wisdom

    No full text
This study examines the Qur’ānic philosophy of human existence through an analytical study of the hubūṭ (descent) verses — Al-Baqarah 2:36, Al-A‘rāf 7:24–25, and Al-Insān 76:1–3. Rather than depicting humanity’s descent as a fall from Divine grace, these verses portray it as the beginning of a purposeful moral, spiritual, and economic mission on earth. The Qur’ānic declaration frames earthly life as both a test and a trust, where material provision (matā‘) is intertwined with ethical responsibility. The paper argues that the Qur’ān integrates spiritual purpose, moral struggle, and economic governance into a unified vision of human civilization as a “moral economy.” Drawing upon classical and modern scholarship the paper demonstrates that Islamic economic thought rejects both materialist excess and severe misuse of natural bounties, advocating instead for justice, balance, and purposeful development. Ultimately, the cycle “in it you live, in it you die, and from it you will be resurrected” situates economic and civilizational activity within an eschatological framework, reminding humanity that worldly creativity carries eternal accountability. The findings suggest that aligning human life and economics with Qur’ānic ethics ensures balanced development and moral accountability

    No full text
The concept of interfaith dialogue denotes a constructive and truth-based communication among followers of diverse religions, aimed at promoting mutual respect, understanding, and peaceful coexistence. Islam, through its universal principles, strongly advocates the significance of dialogue as a means of fostering harmony and resolving conflicts. Both national and international Muslim scholars and institutions have played a pivotal role in strengthening interfaith engagement. They contribute through sermons, seminars, and conferences in mosques, madāris, and Islamic centers, addressing contemporary religious and social issues. On the global stage, Muslim scholars actively participate in international forums, including conferences and workshops, where they represent the perspectives and concerns of the Muslim world while promoting peaceful interreligious relations. International organizations such as the United Nations and the World Council of Churches have also facilitated platforms for dialogue among global faith leaders, advancing understanding and cooperation. This study presents an analytical exploration of the contributions of national and international Muslim scholars and institutions toward the promotion of interfaith dialogue. It further provides recommendations for enhancing future initiatives aimed at deepening interreligious harmony. The primary objective of this research is to cultivate a culture of tolerance, respect, and peaceful coexistence among different faith communities, thereby contributing to global peace and unity. In Pakistan, several scholars and institutions—most notably Maulana Zahid ur Rashdi—have made significant efforts to advance interfaith dialogue through academic and religious engagements

Media is a major tool of communication now a days and it plays major role to communicate the information within seconds and to mind setting for any issue. This research paper defines the term media, elaborates its kinds and modern communication means. It also elaborates the Islamic concept of media, communication and Islamic role and objective of media in an Islamic state. Some Islamic bindings, Islamic limitations and individual and social impact of media has also been discussed in detail. Both the positive and negative aspects of the individual and social impact of media is the main theme of the paper which can be religious, political, ethical and intellectual etc. All the above mentioned topics have been discussed in the light of Seerah of Holy Prophet ﷺ. Some suggestions and recommendations have been discussed at the end of the paper to make reforms in media department through which it may be made more beneficial for the human services. The relationship between education and mass media is very ancient. Media, being the most widespread and effective means of communication, has become an important part of today's society, influencing human life in tangible and intangible ways, be it family life or business, political system or economy, education. Whether it is trade, industry or agriculture, health or morals, administrative affairs or public order, internal affairs of the country or international relations, social problems or cultural institutions, linguistic interpretations or literary controversies, scientific research or academic theories. No sector, no corner and no aspect of life is out of the scope of media. Media is the spokesperson of every sphere of individual and collective life. The other means of education and propagation are not as extensive as the media has given it. The relationship between higher education and the media is also of great importance. The history of the subcontinent is a witness that the higher education of Muslims in this region. A writer and journalist saw the dream of a college and university after the War of Independence and devoted his life to realizing it. The impact of media on education has been significant and far reaching, both positive and negative. With the proliferation of media sources and ease of access to information, media has the potential to enhance the learning experience and extend knowledge beyond the classroom. Overall, the influence of media on education is complex and multifaceted. Although it has the potential to enhance the learning experience and enhance knowledge, it can also lead to distraction and the spread of biased or misleading information. It is important for educators, policy makers and students to be aware of the potential risks and benefits of media in education and to use it responsibly and critically

تناسبِ لفظ و معنا در تفسیرِ عرفانیِ قرآن و شعرِ حافظ: The Proportion of Word and Meaning in Mystical Qur’anic Exegesis and the Poetry of Hafez

    No full text
This study investigates the delicate balance between lafẓ (word) and maʿnā (meaning) within two interconnected domains of Islamic intellectual tradition: mystical Qur’anic exegesis and the poetry of Hafez. Mystical commentators—such as Qushayri, Sulami, Kashani, and Isfahani—developed a hermeneutic method that treated Qur’anic language as a multilayered system in which outward wording reveals and simultaneously conceals deeper spiritual realities. Their interpretive model emphasized proportionality: meaning is not separated from words, yet it is not confined to the literal register. Meanwhile, Hafez’s poetic discourse reflects a similar dynamic, where linguistic economy, symbolic density, and metaphorical precision produce meanings that exceed the textual surface. The research employs comparative linguistic and hermeneutic analysis to explore how both traditions negotiate the tension between literal and symbolic expression. In mystical tafsīr, key Qur’anic concepts—such as light, wine, veil, heart, and path—become spiritual metaphors through controlled shifts in semantic proportionality. In Hafez’s poetry, these same motifs are reconfigured within an aesthetic and experiential framework that expands their semantic fields while preserving an organic connection to Qur’anic precedent. By examining shared symbolic structures and interpretive strategies, the study argues that the balance of word and meaning in both traditions reveals a unified epistemological principle: language operates not as a fixed container but as a dynamic medium that mirrors the layered nature of reality. This interplay ultimately demonstrates how mystical hermeneutics and Persian poetic imagination co-create a rich semantic universe grounded in spiritual intuition and linguistic artistry

    No full text
Rudolph. F. Peters' opinions on the application of Islamic criminal law in the Ottoman Empire, as expressed in her ground breaking book "Crime and Punishment in Islamic Law: Theory and Practice from the Sixteenth to the Twenty-First Century," are examined critically in this essay. Peters provides a thoughtful analysis of how Ottoman rulers applied traditional Islamic law while also modifying legal procedures to accommodate political and administrative realities. The study looks at how Sharia law and qanun (sultanic legislation) are balanced, how ḥudūd punishments are applied selectively, and how state power shapes criminal justice more broadly. The study emphasizes Peters' contention that the Ottoman legal system, despite having its roots in Islamic principles, showed practical flexibility in applying criminal laws through a historical-legal analysis

In computer vision, image categorizing plays a condemnatory role in many real-world applications. GoogleNet is a intimate deep learning model especially expand for image clas- sification and object recognition tasks. It effectually categorizes images based on learned patterns. This study evaluates the per- formance of the GoogleNet architecture in image classification, focusing on three key aspects: the impact of dataset size, dataset balancing, and different train-test split ratios. We examined the model’s accuracy on the CIFAR-10 dataset by varying dataset sizes at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, considering both balanced and unbalanced data. The findings indicate that dataset size and balance notably affect classification accuracy, with balanced datasets generally outperforming unbalanced ones. Additionally, when experimenting with different train-test split ratios 50%- 50%, 60%-40%, 70%-30%, 80%-20%, and 90%-10% the model achieved the best results when trained on 70% of the data and tested on the remaining 30%

Integrating Critical Discourse Analysis and Genderlect: A Framework for Reshaping Democratic Institutions Towards Gender Equity in Pakistan

This study explores the intersection of language, gender, and democratic leadership using Norman Fairclough's CDA Model and Deborah Tannen's Genderlect Theory, in this regard, the study seeks to inquire as to how gendered discursive patterns build power relationships and thereby influence decision making within a democratic system. It proposes a bicameral system of governance where two gendered parliamentary forums, male and female, would synergistically tackle gender-specific issues and constitute an inclusive government. Organizations led by women are said to be women-centered, while those headed by men are male-centered. The model under consideration is based on cross-gender cooperation, mutual inclusion of both houses, and equality. The model stemming from the Islamic participatory spirit reiterates gender equality perceived in cultural and religious light. To this end, the present study proposes constitutional amendments to grant legitimacy for the establishment of women's and men's parliaments within institutional reforms. The issues somehow call for reforms due to recent happenings involving gender, particularly issues like the issue of the terrible rape of a girl in Punjab College and judicial pronouncement of the Lahore High Court barring male staff going to work in women-only institutions. The gravity with which the incidents demand looking into structural and legal means to protect women as well as give them visibility in governance. Drawing upon campaign trails, policy briefs, parliamentary debates, media narratives, and interviews with students, this study carried out discourse and thematic analyses as lenses to analyze the patterns of leadership and gendered social communication in action. Finding results thus lead to a democratic governance agenda in Pakistan where gender-inclusive policy-making facilitates social cohesion, equity, and progressive change. Keywords: Gendered Leadership, Critical Discourse Analysis, Genderlect Theory, Islamic Ideology, Democracy
