Project-Based Hybrid Learning; Effectiveness, Quality of Writing A Thesis Proposal, Independence, and Learning Satisfaction
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is suspected that educational institutions are facing a decline in the quality of learning because learning cannot take place face-to-face, and teaching materials and learning models applied are still conventional. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the application of project-based hybrid learning in improving the quality of writing thesis proposals for students of the Medan State University (Unimed) Business Education Study Program and see the impact of accompaniment to learning independence and student learning satisfaction. This research method applies quasi-experimental with posttest control group design for experimental and control classes. The research population of all students currently attending the Research Methodology lecture in 2021 is 51, consisting of two classes (A & B). The sample was determined by random sampling, with class A as the experimental class of 26 people and class B as the control class of 25 people. Experimental classes are taught with project-based hybrid learning through Google meet and LMS, and control classes are taught with conventional learning through asynchronous LMS. All participants were tasked with compiling a thesis proposal after finishing the treatment. The difference in the average results of the assessment of the thesis proposals of the two classes was carried out with the Mann-Whitney test because the data were not normally distributed. The results of this study show that the application of project-based hybrid learning is effective in improving the quality of writing thesis proposals, independence, and learning satisfaction
Job Autonomy and Teacher Career Commitment in Educational
Study aims to determine the relationship between job autonomy and teacher career commitment in educational. This study used quantitative method and the study design is correlation study. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling to the population of teachers in an educational foundation with minimum a year work period. The participants of this study are 191 teachers from educational background. The data collection used job autonomy scale and teacher career commitment scale in a likert scale model and data analyzed using a statistical test of product moment correlation with SPSS program. The results of the study shown that there is a significant positive relationship between job autonomy and teacher career commitment. In other words, the higher the autonomy of the job for teacher, the higher their career commitment. Otherwise, the lower the teacher job autonomy, the lower the teacher’s career commitment too. This study shows that job autonomy and career commitment have a significant relationship that can interconnect by each other in term of professional career as teacher
Transformation of Villas to Mosques Social Impact of Islamization On The Government Center of Java In The Late 20th Century
Islamization of Java becomes an actual topic of religious social research because the phenomena not only relate to religious discourse but also other aspects. This research focuses on the Islamization of the government center of Salatiga Central Java. The aims of this study are: to find the academic answer to why Islamization occurred in the government center of Salatiga in Central Java, to find out the Islamization process underway, to describe the dominant factors affecting Islamization, and to describe the impact of Islamization on religious life around the central government. The benefit of this research is to contribute the theories of Islamization of Government center of Java in the late of 20th century. This study is a descriptive research and causality analysis. The events were limited to those of 1985 to 2018. The data were sourced from the archives, inscription, news, interviews, and literature. The results of the study found that the Islamization of the Salatiga government center was carried out because the infrastructure was still European patterned. The actualization of Muslim religiosity was not well supported by this infrastructure. The symbol of Islamization is the transformation of the villa on the west of the city square into a mosque. The Islamization was successful because of the symbiotic factors between political parties, rulers, scholars, Islamic universities, and religious organizations. There was no significant impact yet on the improvement of spiritual and social lives around the government center. This study enriches theories about the symbiotic relations of religions, politics, and social changes in Java in the late 20th century
Analysis of Junior High School Students Creative Thinking Skills in Distance Learning
Purpose of this study is to analyze the creative thinking skills of junior high school students in physics in distance learning. This study describes students' creative thinking skills in physics using question instruments related to creative thinking. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. The test is conducted online via google form. The instrument contains eight questions related to the physical matter of substance pressure and its application in everyday life. The subjects of this study were 32 students of VIII Junior High School in Gresik. The results showed that the analysis related to students creative thinking ability in physics obtained an average of 51.5% which was included in the creative enough category. On the fluency indicator it was 37% with the less creative category, 58% on the flexible thinking indicator (Flexibility). with the creative enough category, 64% on the original thinking indicator (Originality) with the creative category, 53% on the detailed thinking indicator (Elaboration) with the creative enough category and 43% on the metaphorical thinking indicator (metaphorical thinking) with the creative enough category. From these results it can be concluded that the creative thinking skills of student’s physics in distance learning are still in the sufficient category so that it needs to be improved especially in distance learning at this time, so that alternatives are needed in learning that is suitable for distance learning. Creative thinking skills are one of the important skills to be trained in the 21st century today
The Development of E-Book Based on Project Based Learning on the Plant Anatomy Structure Material
Problem solving skills are needed by students to solve problems that arise in everyday life. Innovation in learning is needed so that students can achieve the basic competencies and apply 21st-century skills, in the form of interactive, collaborative learning models. One of the innovations is using the Project-Based Learning learning model with the E-book of plant anatomy structures. This study aims to develop an E-book of PjBL-based plant anatomy structures to practice problem-solving skills which are declared valid in terms of theoretical and empirical aspects. The theoretical aspect is viewed from the results of the validity. Empirical aspects in terms of learning outcomes, student responses, and readability. The development model used is 4D. The research was carried out at the UNESA Postgraduate Program in June-August 2020. The target of this research was an online E-book on the structure of plant anatomy based on Project Based Learning which was tested on ten students of Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik senior high school in February 2021. The instruments used were validation sheets, student response sheets, and fry chart sheets. The data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that the PjBL-based E-book of plant anatomical structures was theoretically feasible based on the validation results obtained an categories very valid and empirically feasible based on student learning outcomes (N-gain of moderate categories). Based on this description, a PjBL E-book of plant anatomy structures to train students' problem-solving skills is feasible theoretically and empirically
Teacher Training in Pakistan: Overview of Challenges and their Suggested Solutions
Education is a key component of progress in the present-day world. But this progress cannot be made without efforts of teachers. Therefore, teacher education, in particular teacher training becomes extremely important. In this regard, several trainings programs are initiated and executed across Pakistan but the desired outcomes have not been achieved so far. Hence, this study was conducted to explore the challenges in teacher training in Pakistan and the ways through which these issues can be resolved. The sources for the data of the study were the published studies in the field in the context of Pakistan, national education policy, and other relevant literature. Based on secondary data, the study concludes that the issues with teacher training in Pakistan are administrative as well as faculty related. The findings reveal that the challenges related to policy and planning, poor induction of teachers, lack of resources in teacher training institutions, demotivation among teachers, and unequal distribution of skilled and productive teachers, dual training system and infrequent trainings. These issues can be fixed by fostering encouraging environment, ensuring accountability and merit, providing necessary resources, systematizing professional training programs and their continuation. The findings of this study will, therefore, positively guide policymakers to develop the right and effective policy to improve the standard of teacher education in the country
Implementation and Impact of Human Resources Development in Improving the Performance of Teachers in Schools (Multi Case Studies)
This research aims to analyze the implementation and impact of human resource development in improving the performance of students. This research used a qualitative approach with the type of multi-case study research at the Elementary School Muhammadiyah of 1 Jember and the Elementary School Al Baitul Amien of 1 Jember. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation in both schools. The data analysis process was carried out by condensing data, presenting data, drawing conclusions, and verification. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that the implementation of human resources in Elementary School Muhammadiyah of 1 Jember and Elementary School Al Baitul Amien of 1 Jember, namely 1) The school has fully professional development of educators in the form of training programs and always strives to improve the quality of education through skills improvement programs. 2) The school activity program is always maximized, through habituation in improving the quality of learning through activities, teaching, during the learning process and up to the implementation of quality training so that it is optimal. 3) Programmed school activities program in a clear concept in planning the skills development of educators. 4) Regulations concerning the development of written and straightforward teaching staff and maximized for the program of enhancing the skills of educators which are compiled through the formulation and determination of collective teacher teamwork. Then the impact of the development of human resources in improving the performance of students has a good overall impact on every program implementation of the two schools
Validation of The Mobile Training Management to Improve The Quality Results Training
The success of the training can be seen from how the activation process takes place. One of them is by designing an innovative training model. This research aims to analyze results validation of the mobile training management model. This research uses descriptive quantitative analysis in determining the level of validation of research instruments. This research method uses descriptive quantitative research to assess the level of validation of the research instrument. The sample of this research is the participants of basic level seafaring training at the Surabaya Shipping Polytechnic, the Director of the Surabaya Shipping Polytechnic, and local government employees related to mobile training activities. The research was analyzed based on results validation of the training and education management experts. The results reserach show that the mobile training model instrument is declared valid. Results of expert assessment from training management and managing education are categorized as good. This shows that the mobile training development model in improving the quality of education and training is worthy of further research
Profile of Problem Based Learning to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Skills
This article was created to identify the effect of the Problem Based Learning model in improving students' critical thinking. The data collection method is in the form of a literature study. This article explains that problem-based learning is a learning model that focuses on students' solving problems in physics concepts. Critical thinking is the student's ability to analyze and evaluate the information received to conclude appropriately. The results of the literature study showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the learning process with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The application of Problem Based Learning has an average increase of about 50% after the learning pattern is applied. The existence of the PBL learning model is effectively used to improve students' critical thinking, which incidentally in solving physics concepts requires the ability to analyze and evaluate to conclude
Problem-Based Learning To Improve Concept Understanding and Critical Thinking Ability of Science Education Undergraduate Students
This reserach was conducted to improve conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability of fourth-semester students of the Science education study program, Bengkulu University by applying PBL. The research method used in this study is quasi experimental, which in its implementation uses single class or one group pretest-posttest design. The test question was the instrument used in this study. The findings showed that there was an improvement in students‘ conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability of students‘ since implementing problem-based learning models in environmental chemistry courses. This improvement can be seen from the results of the gain test for each class group on the test of conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability which are in the "medium" category, while the t-test results for concept understanding and critical thinking ability show a significant difference (0.000 <0.05). ), In other words, the implementation of the PBL learning influences the students‘ conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability. Further the implementation of the problem-based learning model in teaching and learning process presents problems with real conditions so that it can stimulate students to not only think and understand at the rote level but also interpret the problem. Quiet in-depth research on the implementation of problem-based learning models in learning is highly recommended to get more comprehensive results
