    Digital Literacy and Digital Competence of Selected Filipino Teachers: Basis for a Post-Pandemic Pedagogy

    Objective: The study seeks to provide a thorough description of the teachers' digital literacy (DL) and digital competence (DC) and shine a light on the variables that influence the development of their digital literacies and competence. Method: Comprehensive data collection and analysis from 274 participants were completed. Descriptive and inferential statistics were conducted to accomplish the objectives of this study. Results: It came to light that teachers with less than ten years of experience have higher levels of digital literacy. Pre-service education, having access to ICT resources, and a favorable attitude about using ICT were all strongly associated with DL and DC. The research's essential contribution is its findings affirming the value of DL and DC, which can be utilized to approach new technologies critically and use them as a part of digital pedagogy. Novelty: The critical contribution of the research is the result claiming the positive status of DL and DC, which can be used to approach new tools from a critical pedagogical perspective and apply them as part of digital pedagogy

    Elevating Pedagogical Outcomes: A Study on the Efficacy of State Islamic Religious Universities Management in Aceh, Indonesia

    Objective: This research aims to examine the efficacy of higher education administration in quality control of Islamic university lecturers in Aceh. Method: The study employs a qualitative paradigm, with data gathered through observation, interview findings, and documentation. Informants include campus policymakers (rectors, deans, and department heads) and numerous students who are users. Results:  Quality planning outcomes are provided through research under the institution's vision, purpose, and objectives. Planning, revision, and verification are used to carry out the program. Its substance encourages attempts to strengthen educational quality control but does not specify the desired results. Quality control management for lecturers is controlled by each component (faculties and departments) using formal and written references. The projected consequences of senior policy managers being able to design an integrity-based university governance model based on enhancing organizational values, norms, laws, management, and organizational structures. Novelty: Quality control model novelty consists of five stages, namely (1) control principles, (2) quality implementation, (3) professionalism development, (4) evaluation monitoring, and (5) collaboration strategy

    The Validity of IPAS Module based on STEM to Improve Students' Scientific Literacy Skills

    Objective: This study describes the validity of based inquiry change textbooks used to train students' scientific literacy skills. The validity of the developed inquiry-based textbooks is viewed from the aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, linguistic feasibility, inquiry suitability, and scientific literacy. Method: This study used the development of the 4D model (define, design, and develop), which was modified and implemented in the Science Education Postgraduate Program at Surabaya State University. The data collection technique was carried out using the textbook validation method. The assessment instrument used was a textbook validation sheet that two chemistry lecturers validated as validators. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and descriptively. Results: The research results are in the form of validation of STEM-based textbooks, with an average score of 91.20% in the very valid category. Novelty: The novelty of this research is that there are STEM-based features in textbooks about change that can improve students' scientific literacy skills. Based on the data analysis, the developed inquiry-based textbooks are valid and suitable for learning

    Development of Students’ Worksheet Through Guided Inquiry Model to Increase Science Process Skills in The Harmonic Vibration Subject

    Objective: This study uses guided inquiry models to test the relationship between the Student Worksheets and Science process skills on the Harmonic Vibration subject. Method: This research uses an experimental method with subjects on high school students in two State Islamic School 1 Sumenep classes. Result: Through comprehensive equipment and questions. This research results in several aspects as follows: (1) the average validity on the Student Worksheet (SW) is 3.58, which is categorized as a very-valid; (2) the exciting aspect of SW is 93% with attractive criteria, the understanding SW is 87% with easy-to-understand criteria, clarity in terms of font size and typeface is 100% with clear criteria, clarity in terms of language aspects is 92% with clear criteria, as well as clarity of description supported by graphic illustrations of 87% with clear criteria; (3) The effectiveness of SW is measured through the pre-test and post-test which depicts that there is an increase in students' science process skills after the using learning tools and guided inquiry learning models. Novelty: This research contributes to the development of indicators in student's worksheets relating to science process skills, including formulating a problem, making a hypothesis, determining the experimental variable, defining operational definitions of variable, creating a data table, creating a finding and analysis, and making a conclusion

    Validity of Science Literacy on the Respiratory System in Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum

    Objective: This study aims to produce a junior high school-level scientific literacy test on the topic of the human respiratory system in the Merdeka Indonesia curriculum. Method: The method used in this study is a modified research and development method. The data collection technique was carried out using the validation method of Aiken calculations. The scientific literacy test instrument was developed using scientific literacy indicators from the adaptation of Gormally et al. (2012) combined with learning objectives. Then it was validated by three validators who are experts in their fields. The validator provides a Likert scale score (1-4) and suggestions as material for consideration for improvement. The validator assesses the instrument based on material substance, construction, and language aspects. The research data were analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. Results: The results of the validation were then carried out by Aiken calculations, with very valid results, namely the value of V ≤ 0.80 on the substance aspect of 0.89, the construction aspect of 0.94, and the language aspect of 0.93. The scientific literacy instruments developed are valid and can be used to measure the scientific literacy of junior high school students in the Merdeka Indonesia Curriculum. Novelty: This research can provide an overview of scientific literacy instruments per the Merdeka curriculum, which can motivate teachers to train in scientific literacy

    Objective: this research is a preliminary study that aims to describe the process of implementing traditional ceremonial traditions and Islamic values and the impact of acculturation of Islamic education on Mappogau Sihanua Karampuang. Method: This study uses field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were ten community leaders directly involved in implementing the Karampuang traditional ceremony and two educators. Results: This study found that in the Mappogau Sihanua tradition, several ritual processes must be passed, namely: Mabbahanang is deliberation, Mappaota. It is a request for permission or blessing. Mabaja-baja is cooperation to clean houses and traditional locations, menre ri fur (going up to the top of a mountain to release vows), mabbali sumange, preparing traditional medicines, and Malling is a prohibition on slaughtering livestock. The most numerous messages of value in the Mappogau Sihanua Karampuang time-honored tradition are moral values such as respecting each other, preserving the environment, respecting leaders, cooperation/helping each other, ukhuwah, and friendship values. Novelty: The novelty in this study is that the values of Islamic religious education can have a positive impact and give the Karampuang community new perspectives on something new in behavior

    The role of educators is to develop teaching methods in the Psychology of Educational Children with Special Needs lectures so that students gain knowledge, learning experiences, and easy access through online discussion forums during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of online learning on educational psychology courses for special education students. This research hypothesizes that the online teaching method using WhatsApp is effective for The Educational Psychology of Children with Special Needs course. The research method is a Quasi Experiment. The subjects of this study were students of special education study programs at the University of Lambung Mangkurat, Banjarmasin city. The data collection method used the test method, through pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique is the t-test technique. The results of the research from pre-test and post-test data using a paired sample-t test showed that the activities of special education students in the educational psychology course for Children with Special Needs using online learning using WhatsApp turned out to be quite effective

    Objective: To get around students' reluctance, learning media is needed; one of them is the development of mathematics teaching materials. The development of teaching materials is needed to actualize subjects, especially mathematics, as a contextual subject. This goal is to improve students' reasoning abilities in understanding and solving the problems in daily life. The function of the model is as an intermediary between students' mathematical reasoning abilities and the questions presented in the development of teaching materials. More mathematical reasoning abilities are found in trigonometry material. Trigonometry is the science of measuring the angles and boundaries of triangles (used in astronomy and so on) in which there are solutions for other problems, such as measuring the height of mountains, buildings, towers, etc. Method: This research uses a qualitative method. Results: The teaching material Trigonometry research is valid for module material validation, graphics or media validation, and obtained from audience validation results. The three percentages are at a very valid validation level and can be used in schools. Novelty: After the application of this teaching material, the result was that students' mathematical reasoning abilities became better

    Validity of Student Worksheets Based on Model Argument Driven Inquiry Integrated by STEM to Train Students' Argumentation Ability and Self-Efficacy in Chemical Equilibrium Material

    Objective: One of the teaching materials that can increase students' interest and learning motivation is student worksheet with an interesting learning model. This study aims to: (1) train students' argumentation abilities when they want to express their opinions regarding chemical equilibrium material and (2) train students' self-efficacy by bringing opinions related to equilibrium material. Method: The research method refers to the 4D model, namely definition, design, development, and deployment. However, it is only limited to the third stage. The data collection technique used the validation method by three validators, namely two chemistry lecturers and one high school chemistry teacher. The instruments used to assess the validity of the student worksheet are content validity sheets and construct validity sheets. The data obtained is then processed using the agreement percentage formula. Results: student worksheet 1, student worksheet 2, and student worksheet 3 are feasible in terms of content and construction validity with very valid categories. This is evidenced by the agreement percentage value on each student worksheet which is above 75%. Novelty: student worksheet modeled on STEM-integrated ADI will be developed to train students' argumentation skills and self-efficacy. This novelty can be assessed as being able to provide: (1) solutions related to students' interest in ideas on chemical equilibrium material, especially the sub-factors of shifting factors towards chemical equilibrium and (2) being able to increase students' confidence when conveying their ideas or other actions
