Evaluating the MBG Monitoring Application in Indonesian Schools Using the DeLone & McLean Model
Objective: The Free Nutritious Meal Program (Program Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) is a strategic initiative by the Indonesian government aimed at enhancing the nutrition of school-age children, with application monitoring playing a key role in its effectiveness. This study assesses the success of the MBG implementation by empirically examining the impact of system quality, human resource (HR) training effectiveness, and strategic leadership support on system adoption and net benefits. Using the DeLone & McLean Information System Success Model (2003) as a theoretical framework. Metode: survey was conducted among MBG application users, including field officers and supervisors. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire measuring system quality, training effectiveness (based on Kirkpatrick’s reaction, learning, and behavior levels), leadership support, system use, user satisfaction, and net benefits. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed for data analysis. Result: The results indicate that strategic leadership support significantly affects system use, while training effectiveness positively influences net benefits. Novelty: The study’s novelty lies in integrating strategic management and user adoption perspectives within public sector digital initiatives in developing countries
Enhancing Secondary Students’ Reading Comprehension Through Local Culture-Based Website: A Classroom Action Research
Objective: This study investigates the impact of integrating local culture-based website applications on improving the reading comprehension skills of ninth-grade students. Method: Conducted as classroom action research, the study involved 114 students and one English teacher as a collaborator. Over five meetings, students engaged with culturally relevant texts designed to enhance their comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar skills. The research included a pre-test, three treatment sessions using the website application, and a post-test, followed by a questionnaire on students' perceptions of the application. Results: The findings show that the average post-test score rising from 55.6 to 73.4. The decrease in the standard deviation from 12.8 to 9.5 suggests a reduction in performance disparities. A paired sample t-test confirmed the statistical significance of these gains (t(114) = 12.67, p < 0.001), and the large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.62) indicates a substantial impact of the intervention. The students' responses to the questionnaire reflected a positive attitude toward the use of the application, highlighting its effectiveness and cultural relevance. Novelty: These results suggest that incorporating local cultural content into educational tools can significantly enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
Uncovering Emerging Health Awareness Trends in Education: A Bibliometric Study
Objective: The study aims to examine the development of research trends related to health awareness in schools or education. Method: Data were obtained from the Scopus database and analyzed using PRISMA analysis, VOSviewer assistance, and bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 182 relevant articles with the keywords "health awareness" and "school" or "school environment" in the category of English articles in 2020-2024 were collected. The database was analyzed and visualized using the VOSviewer application. The results of this study provide insight into the development of health awareness as a trend in education. Data was obtained in the form of 1)trends in health awareness in schools or education, 2)countries that influence health awareness in schools or education, and 3) keywords that often appear. The results of this study can be used as a foundation for future research to better understand health awareness as a trend in school or education. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in integrating health awareness in education, giving rise to a new trend regarding health awareness in schools or education, and providing researchers with an overview of future research opportunities related to health awareness and education through bibliometric analysis
Integrated Science Learning Webbed Type in Permaculture Theme and BRADeR Model to Enhance Science Literacy Competence of Junior High School Students
Objective: This research aims to assess the scientific literacy of State Junior High School 1 Ngoro students in integrated science learning using the webbed type with a permaculture theme and the BRADeR model. Method: This descriptive quantitative study involves 80 students from State Junior High School 1 Ngoro: 16 from class IX-A (limited trial) and 64 from IX-B and IX-C (broader trial). Data collection was conducted using a science literacy competence test instrument consisting of 10 essay questions designed according to three dimensions of scientific literacy proficiency. The validity assessment by three experts showed that 9 out of 10 questions scored an average of 4, categorizing them as "very valid," while 1 question was also deemed "very valid." The reliability assessment using Cronbach's Alpha indicates good dependability. Data analysis utilized inferential statistics to assess the viability of webbed-type integrated science learning on permaculture and the BRADeR model in improving students' science literacy. Results: Findings indicate a notable enhancement in science literacy, presenting a mean n-gain of 0.73, which is categorized as high. The most significant enhancement was in articulating scientific phenomena, next was experimental design and data analysis. A moderate enhancement was observed in investigating, applying, and evaluating scientific knowledge for decision-making. Novelty: This research examines improvements in science literacy and emphasizes the need for multimedia and multimodel approaches through integrated science learning using the webbed type and BRADeR model
Chunking Techniques to Enhance Learning Outcomes in the Human Body System
Objective: Chunking is a cognitive method that breaks down complex material into smaller, more digestible pieces, improving comprehension and retention of knowledge. This study aims to assess the efficacy of the chunking strategy in improving student learning outcomes for human body system materials. Method: The research method was quasi-experimental with a post-test control group design. The research subjects of eighth-grade students consisted of experimental and control classes. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test to understand the concept of human body systems. Results: The study showed that the chunking technique effectively improved learning outcomes because it helped the brain process information better. The chunking technique increases students' understanding of the human body system's material, which impacts better learning outcomes. Novelty: This study introduces the chunking technique as a strategy in science learning, especially in understanding the material of the human body system. The chunking technique helps teachers present learning that suits the needs of students. The application of chunking techniques in learning, assisted by learning media, can accommodate the differences in student characteristics in class
The Influence Of Digital Comic-Based Instructional Media On Students' Narrative Text Writing Skills At SMP Muhammadiyah Rappang
Objective: This study investigates the influence of digital comic-based instructional media on students' narrative writing skills at SMP Muhammadiyah Rappang. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of digital comics in enhancing students' ability to construct well structured, coherent, and creative narrative texts. Method: A quasi experimental research design was applied, involving pre-test and post-test assessments of students' narrative writing skills. Data were collected through direct observations, student writing evaluations, and teacher feedback. The study measured improvements in key aspects of narrative writing, including structure, coherence, vocabulary use, and creativity. Results: The findings reveal that digital comic-based media significantly improve students' narrative writing skills compared to conventional teaching methods. Students exposed to digital comics demonstrated better organization of ideas, increased engagement in writing activities, and enhanced creativity in storytelling. However, several challenges were identified, including teachers' limited technological proficiency and restricted access to digital resources, which affected the optimal implementation of digital comics in the classroom. Novelty: This study highlights the potential of integrating digital comics into writing instruction to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. It recommends the development of culturally relevant digital comics, increased teacher training in digital literacy, and improved technological infrastructure in schools. Additionally, strengthening pedagogical strategies for utilizing digital comics in writing instruction is crucial. These findings emphasize the importance of adopting innovative, visually engaging media to foster students' creativity and improve their writing proficiency in secondary education
21st Century Learning: A Research Analysis of Numeracy Literacy Trends among Students
Objective: This study analyzes recent trends in numeracy literacy among primary school students in Kediri District and identifies the challenges, opportunities, and steps to improve students' numeracy achievement in the 21st century. Method: A qualitative approach was used in this study, including interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and documentation of numeracy assessment results. The study involved 200 grade 4 and 5 students from 10 partner primary schools in the Campus on Duty (CoD) program. Results: The findings indicate that numeracy literacy trends are influenced by the integration of technology, including game-based learning applications and online platforms. Despite limited resources and insufficient teacher training, technology provides significant opportunities for enhancing numeracy learning. Project-based learning and collaboration with local technology communities were found to be effective in improving numeracy understanding by allowing students to apply concepts in real-world contexts. Novelty: This study emphasizes the unique role of project-based learning and collaboration with local technology communities as strategies for improving numeracy literacy. By integrating real-world contexts and technology, the findings offer new insights into bridging traditional teaching methods with innovative approaches, addressing the evolving demands of 21st-century education.
 
Managing Learning Excellence in Educational Institutions: Strategies and Insights
Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze the management of learning excellence in education units with different characteristics. Method: This research uses a qualitative approach with a multi-case study design. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data credibility was checked using triangulation techniques, member checking, and peer discussion. Data collected through the three techniques were organized, interpreted, and analyzed repeatedly through within-case and cross-case analyses to develop concepts and abstractions of research findings. Results: The results show that the existence of schools in superior schools is determined by the number of learning excellence owned by schools and the involvement of school principals in improving and maintaining progress by making innovations and changes so that schools remain stable and last until now. Future research can be conducted using different research designs and approaches. Novelty: Based on the results of the literature search, not many studies have been related to the management of learning excellence in education units. Previous research is mainly related to the characteristics of excellent schools. Only some studies aim to determine and analyze the management of learning excellence in schools. Therefore, the management of learning excellence has the characteristics of applying discipline in the teaching and learning process, demanding creative and innovative teachers, and having seriousness in curriculum development and learning.
 
Development of Digital Electronics and Information Literacy Training Kit to Improve the Performance of Students Electrical Engineering Education
Objective: The study aims to develop a digital electronics kit and information literacy to improve student performance in terms of validity and reliability in terms of language and materials. Analyze student responses to the digital electronics kit and information literacy. Analyze student performance results and the relationship between variables. Method: The method used in the study includes the research stage. The study was conducted to determine what competency standards and essential competencies are expected. Novelty: Kits and information literacy were developed to support skills in facing the demands of industrial technology 4.0. Connecting students with industry through the latest kits and learning modules, strengthening the relationship between academia and industry. Research results: Cronbach's alpha reliability test results are higher than its fundamental value, 0.820> 0.60. The results prove that all statements in the information literacy variable are reliable. The analysis of student responses to devices and information literacy obtained an average value of 90%, and student performance results from several criteria averaged 87.1; the kit has a significant and positive contribution (<0.10) and a path coefficient value of 0.102. The results of data analysis have proven that information literacy has a significant and positive contribution (<0.10), and the path coefficient value is 0.077
Optimizing Students’ Reading Skills through Microlearning with Canva: A Digital Approach in ELT
Objective: Microlearning is sufficiently flexible to support various learning modalities and can be tailored to individual student needs. By making it easily accessible, teachers enable students to select concise, desired, necessary, and relevant information. Using microlearning enhances students' comprehension and retention, particularly in vocabulary development. Through Canva, analysis shows that this technology is beneficial for delivering microlearning. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of using the interactive visual design application Canva in English learning through microlearning. Method: The research subjects consist of 18 SMP Alam Nurul Furqon ninth-grade students. The study used qualitative methods with several instruments, including Google Forms, observation, and literature review. Results: The study reveals that students, by a percentage of 3.94, preferred using Canva as a learning medium compared to conventional teaching methods, and a percentage of 3.22 felt an increase in reading skills. This demonstrates that digital technology significantly influences various elements, including education, in today's era. Novelty: These results serve as a valuable reference for educators, indicating the students` high motivation levels and guiding efforts to enhance reading skills in English education in the future
