Capuchin Culture (CapCult)
No full textThis is a collaborative project that aims to identify and understand the cultural behavior of a neotropical primate, the capuchin monkey. This intelligent and curious monkey has several behaviors, including tool use, that are similar to our own ancestors, although separated by 40 million years of evolutionary history. That fact makes the capuchins an interesting alternative model to understand the human evolution.
This project brought together an excelent team of research of international researchers, from different areas of expertises. Primatologists, geneticists, archaeologists, botanists, biologists are working together to understand why capuchin monkeys populations behave so differently, although some are living in similar environments.
The project is based at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities at the University of São Paulo

A Sincronização da Música e da Imagem do Reel do Instagram e sua Influência na Percepção do Público no Equador
No full textLa presente investigación busca evidenciar cómo la combinación de elementos visuales y sonoros influye en la percepción estética de contenidos en la red social Instagram. Además, el auge de esta plataforma induce al usuario a un consumo acelerado de contenidos, lo que conlleva la producción de un alto volumen de videos, dando como resultado escatimar en los detalles; debido al gran aumento de contenidos audiovisuales circulando por las redes, los usuarios se han vuelto mucho más exigentes, consumiendo contenidos que sean visualmente más atractivos. Esto hace que los creadores que dominen la sincronización entre imagen y sonido predominen y generen una mayor interacción. Cabe señalar que se analizó la influencia de la sincronización de la música y la imagen del reel y su impacto en la audiencia; en este sentido la metodología que se utilizó fue de enfoque mixto con propósito correlacional de alcance no experimental, mediante un análisis de contenidos en la red social Instagram, específicamente relacionados con la sincronización de la música e imagen, y la percepción del reel con la aplicación de entrevistas y análisis de métricas, lo que permitió comprender como la sincronización de la música y la imagen del reel de Instagram influyen en la percepción y el engagement de la audiencia.This research aims to demonstrate how the combination of visual and auditory elements influences the aesthetic perception of content on Instagram. Furthermore, the rise of this platform encourages users to consume content at an accelerated pace, leading to the production of a high volume of videos, resulting in a reduction in detail. Due to the significant increase in audiovisual content circulating on social media, users have become much more demanding, preferring more visually appealing content. This allows creators who master the synchronization between image and sound to stand out and achieve higher engagement. It should be noted that the influence of the synchronization of music and images in the reel and its impact on the audience were analyzed. In this regard, a mixed-methods approach with a correlational, non-experimental design was employed, using content analysis on the Instagram social network, specifically related to the synchronization of music and images, and the perception of reels through interviews and metric analysis. This allowed for an understanding of how the synchronization of music and images in Instagram reels influences audience perception and engagement.A presente pesquisa busca evidenciar como a combinação de elementos visuais e sonoros influencia a percepção estética de conteúdos na rede social Instagram. Além disso, o crescimento dessa plataforma induz o usuário a um consumo acelerado de conteúdos, o que acarreta a produção de um elevado volume de vídeos, resultando muitas vezes em economia de detalhes; devido ao grande aumento de conteúdos audiovisuais em circulação nas redes, os usuários se tornaram muito mais exigentes, consumindo conteúdos que sejam visualmente mais atraentes. Isso faz com que os criadores que dominam a sincronização entre imagem e som predominem e gerem uma maior interação.
