Data analysis uses descriptive analysis, coefficient of variation, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results of the study indicate that the behavior of red chili prices based on the KV values obtained indicates highly fluctuating and unstable behavior. The average KV value at the farmer level, which is 43%, tends to be greater than the consumer level, which is 41%. This shows that the price of red chili at the farmer level is more fluctuating than at the consumer level. The red chili market at the farmer and consumer levels in Banyumas Regency is integrated both in the long term and the short term. There is no causal relationship between the producer and consumer markets in the marketing of red chili in Banyumas Regency
The Income Difference of Credited and Uncredited Cocoa Farming in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia
Cocoa plantations in Central Sulawesi have experienced a decline in productivity due to many plants starting to age, pest and disease attacks, and minimal application of technology. Limited capital causes these problems to be challenging to solve, so the solution is to take credit loan capital. However, many farmers still need to be convinced to take credit. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the differences in cocoa farming income with and without credit and the factors influencing farmers' decisions to take credit. The data used is secondary data from the 2013 Agricultural Census: 2014 Plantation Household Survey. Descriptive analysis is used to describe the characteristics of cocoa farmers in Central Sulawesi. Quantitative analysis is used for farm income analysis, propensity score matching, and logistic regression. The research found that credit positively influenced the income of cocoa farmers in Central Sulawesi. However, it was insignificant because credit was not entirely used to finance productive farming. Factors influencing cocoa farmers' decision to take credit in Central Sulawesi are participation in extension services, cooperative membership, farmer group membership, farmer education level, and land area

Disparities in Consumer Preferences for Procuring Vegetables Between Traditional and Modern Markets
Consumer preferences for vegetables reflect the decision to buy them in traditional vs contemporary marketplaces, impacted by several circumstances. This article analyzes the impact of pricing, product quality, product completeness, facilities, and services on vegetable purchasing in modern and traditional marketplaces, utilizing the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach within the Smart-PLS 4.0 program. The research utilized primary data collected from 96 participants across six modern and traditional marketplaces in Medan City. The findings of this study reveal disparities in the factors influencing traditional and modern marketplaces. In conventional marketplaces, price, product variety, and service substantially influence customer preferences for vegetables, although product quality and amenities do not significantly impact these choices. In contemporary marketplaces, product quality, facilities, and services substantially influence customer preferences for purchasing vegetables, although price and product completeness have no major impact on these choices. Affordability, product comprehensiveness, and service quality are essential considerations for consumers shopping in traditional marketplaces. This component must be sustained to be competitive in contemporary markets. Moreover, amenities are a crucial issue to consider for the coexistence of traditional markets alongside modern marketplaces.
Do Consumers Have the Willingness to Try Microalgae as an Alternative Protein Source?
The increasing consumption needs of society have led to a rise in food demand, which continues to grow along with the population increase. Every year, the government implements various efforts to meet these growing consumption demands. Using alternative food sources can meet the public's dietary needs. One such alternative is microalgae, which is considered a promising food source. However, it is still relatively unfamiliar to the public, necessitating strategies to raise awareness about this ingredient. Several factors can influence customer attitudes, making them more open to trying new things, thereby positively affecting consumer willingness to try microalgae as an alternative food source. This study aims to investigate the influence of environmental concerns, health interests, food neophobia, and knowledge on consumer attitudes toward trying microalgae as a preferred alternative protein source. It also examines whether consumer attitudes influence willingness to try microalgae moderated by self-efficacy. The research employed a quantitative approach, with a sample size of 400 respondents determined using multistage sampling. Primary data were collected through a closed questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis and SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square) with the WarpPLS 8.0 software. The results indicate that environmental concern, health interest, and knowledge have positive and significant effects on consumer attitudes, while neophobia has a negative and insignificant effect. Furthermore, consumer attitudes influenced willingness to try, with self-efficacy strengthening the relationship between attitudes and willingness to try microalgae as a preferred alternative protein source
Growth Response of Aromatic Grasses to Soil Salinity Stress
This research aims to determine the growth response of vetiver, lemongrass and citronella plants in terms most resistant to soil salinity stress levels. The study was carried out at the screen house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Santo Thomas Catholic University, Medan, which is 32 meters above sea level. This research was carried out in January to March 2024. The study used a factorial, Completely Randomized Design, which consisted of two factors. The first factor is the influence of several aromatic grasses (R), which consist of 3 types: lemongrass, citronella, and vetiver. The second factor is the salinity soil stress (S) level, which consists of five levels: without saline, 25% saline soil, 50% saline soil, 75% saline soil saline, and 100% saline soil. Based on these treatment combinations, there were 15 combinations, and each treatment was repeated 3 times so that 45 plants/pots measured 5L. Parameter observations were carried out during harvesting; the parameters observed were shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, root volume, and root cross-section anatomy. The results of the study can be stated that the factor of several aromatic grasses has a significant effect on shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, roots fresh weight, and roots volume, where the best aromatic grasses is vetiver even though it was not significantly different from citronella which is resistant to growth at salinity stress levels of 50% to 100%. The salinity level also has a significant effect where salinity starting from 25% causes a decrease in the fresh weight and dry weight of the shoot of the three aromatic grasses.
