The Effectiveness of Social Media Marketing Activities in Building Brand Equity and Patient Trust and its Influence on Visit Intention in Private Hospitals
Technological developments and increasingly fierce competition for private hospitals have forced private hospitals to innovate with each other to promote their services through social media. The research aims to measure how effective the implementation of social media marketing activities is in building brand awareness, brand image, brand equity, and trust from private hospital patients and their influence on visit intention. This study uses quantitative methods, and the data obtained will be processed using CB-SEM with the IBM AMOS application, analyzing 264 questionnaire responses. The study results show that social media marketing activities affect brand awareness, brand image, and trust but do not affect visit intention. Meanwhile, trust and brand equity have a significant impact on visit intentions. However, brand awareness does not affect brand image, yet both significantly impact brand equity. This study shows that collaboration between variables is needed to impact patient visit intentions positively. It is hoped that this research can help the management of private hospitals and other health facilities in forming marketing strategies through social media activities
The Degree of Epistemic Modality in Poe’s the Murders in the Rue Morgue and its Indonesian Translation
The epistemic modality in detective story helps to build the mysterious atmosphere since its linguistic feature deals with the speaker’s assessment toward the assumptive truth. Readers of detective stories can be captivated by the uncertainty and probability that hinder them from uncovering the truth until the stories end. Thus, this research aims to describe the degree or value of epistemic modality in Poe’s The Murders in the Rue Morgue and its Indonesian equivalent. A descriptive translation approach is used, and a comparative analysis is employed in this research toward the source and target texts. The results show that the modal markers of low degree dominate the English original story, and of the high degree are for the Indonesian translation. However, consistency in translating the degree of epistemic modality is shown by the domination of similar value combination: High-High, Median-Median, and Low-Low. Meanwhile, the types of modal markers presenting the degree of epistemic modality are similarly used in both English and Indonesian versions of the story, except for the relational attributive clause. The English epistemic modality mostly happens in form of positive modal auxiliaries (46.8%) and the Indonesian Epistemic markers are dominated by modal adverbs (27.7%)
Simulacra Politics: Digital Advertising for the 2024 Presidential Election on Social Media
The presidential election in Indonesia will be held in 2024, but the excitement of conversations on various social media platforms has been felt at this time. This political party, which is held every 5 years, has attracted a lot of public attention, one of which is through political advertising on social media. Social media is relatively dominant in human use today, and until the way we interact and communicate using social media can understand identity in context is one area that attracts a lot of interest in using it. It is considered like a boon, as a way to connect many people and streamline communication. One of Baudrillard's thoughts is simulation in social media which becomes simulacra in digital advertising. Humans today live in a world full of simulation, almost nothing is real outside of simulation, nothing is genuine and can be imitated. Industrial culture disguises the distance between facts and information, between information and entertainment, between entertainment and political interests. The purpose of this research is to evaluate symbols or signs in political advertisements for the 2024 presidential election on social media. The method will be carried out with netnography through big data analysis by finding simulacra signs in digital advertisements for the 2024 presidential election. The existence of digital advertising in elections offers a great opportunity to increase voter participation and engagement. However, keep in mind that the use of digital advertising also brings challenges and responsibilities that must be handled wisely by all relevant parties
The Effect of Board Gender Diversity on the Company: A Literature Review
This study explores the influence of gender diversity in boards of directors on various aspects of corporate performance. Through the literature review method, this research gathers empirical evidence to assess how gender diversity affects risk-taking, social responsibility, and decision-making processes within the firm. The results show that the presence of women on boards can contribute positively to corporate performance, innovation, investment, and ESG issues, while bringing diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise that support more effective decision-making and risk management. On the other hand, the study also recognizes that underrepresentation of women may reduce the benefits of gender diversity. Furthermore, the presence of women on boards is associated with reduced agency problems, increased dividend payouts and more responsible tax avoidance practices. However, there are mixed views regarding the impact of gender diversity, emphasizing the importance of considering the firm-specific context in evaluating the impact of gender diversity on firm performance. This study contributes to future research by providing a broader and deeper knowledge base on the topic of gender diversity in the context of business and management
Analysis of Patient Rights Protection through Medical Record Confidentiality and Information Disclosure System in Indonesian Hospitals
This study presents an in-depth analysis of patient rights protection, focusing on medical record confidentiality and the information disclosure system in Indonesian hospitals. The research utilizes a normative juridical approach, employing primary and secondary legal materials and combining statute and conceptual approaches. The analysis highlights gaps in the existing legal and policy frameworks that compromise patient rights, and the challenges healthcare providers face in maintaining medical record confidentiality and disclosure of information. These issues are further illuminated through a review of relevant academic literature, and corroborated by empirical evidence drawn from real-world case studies. Findings reveal a dichotomy between theoretical principles of patient rights and their practical implementation, accentuated by resource limitations, variations in law enforcement, and gaps in understanding among healthcare providers. The study concludes with recommendations for legal and policy reforms that can bridge these gaps, improve patient care, and strengthen trust in Indonesia's healthcare system. These reforms present both challenges and opportunities. While resource constraints and resistance to change may pose difficulties, the potential for improved patient care, enhanced public trust, and socio-economic development makes the pursuit of these reforms a necessary endeavour. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of patient rights protection and sets the stage for ongoing dialogue and action towards healthcare reform in Indonesia
The Relation Between Organizational Culture and Strategy in Hospitals: Mini-Review
Regardless of how people define culture, most experts believe that having a strong culture is beneficial to any organization. Hospital X devised and executed a new organizational strategy in order to become prospective. During this procedure, hospitals’ management paid less attention to organizational culture, leading to the assumption that hospital’s culture is incompatible with the strategy. However, in order to make a successful transformation and implement a strategy, a suitable culture must be established. Based on a comparison of the strategic enablers with the cultural dimensions, it appears that the six cultural dimensions proposed by Cameron and Quinn should contain the necessary cultural circumstances. In order for the intended hospital’s strategy to be more successful and efficient, it must be implemented in accordance with the intended organizational culture. To assess the impact of culture on hospital’s strategy, it must concentrate on strategic enablers. It is predicted that focusing on strategic enablers will suffice in identifying a comprehensive strategy concept. The cultural circumstances of the factors that drive each strategic enabler possibly will be added to each strategic dimension. In order to attain the strategic enabler, these conditions must be met. As a result, a more culturally aware hospital’s strategy will emerge
