    The Role of Digital Communication via X in Increasing Tourist Visits to the Mandalika Area, Central Lombok Regency

    Mandalika tourism serves as a key economic driver in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, contributing significantly to regional revenue. To boost tourist arrivals, the local government uses social media, particularly X, as a digital communication platform to promote the destination. This study explores the impact of X-based communication on tourists’ perceptions and decision-making, while also identifying factors that influence the effectiveness of destination promotion. A combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was employed, including a survey of thirty respondents from both within and outside Lombok and a content analysis of tourism-related X posts published between July - December 2024. The survey data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression techniques. Findings demonstrate that X plays a significant role in shaping tourists’ perceptions and increasing awareness of Mandalika. Information relevance and visual content quality emerged as the most influential factors in travel decision-making. However, excessive posting frequency can lead to reduced interest, whereas positive engagement with content increases visitor attraction. Content analysis further reveals high engagement levels, with seventy five percent of posts reflecting positive sentiment and strong support from official accounts and local influencers. The study concludes that X is an effective promotional tool for tourism when supported by relevant, engaging, and data informed communication strategies. These results provide practical insights for tourism stakeholders and policymakers aiming to enhance digital marketing efforts in Mandalika and similar emerging destinations

    An Analysis of the Determinant Factors of Poverty and Inequality in Indonesia and Their Implications for Village Development Planning

    This study aims to analyze the key determinant factors influencing poverty and inequality, as well as to examine their implications for village development planning. The research adopts a mixed-method approach by integrating robust regression-based quantitative analysis with qualitative literature studies derived from secondary sources. The findings identify five factors that significantly affect inequality: economic growth, the open unemployment rate, the human development index (HDI), the proportion of informal agricultural workers, and fiscal transfers from the central government to regional administrations. Furthermore, six determinant factors are found to influence poverty: economic growth, inequality, the open unemployment rate, the human development index, the proportion of informal agricultural workers, and fiscal transfers from the central government to local governments. As a key implication, the study emphasizes the need to prioritize the allocation of village funds toward programs that directly address the root causes of poverty and inequality. This strategic focus is essential to ensure that rural development planning contributes effectively to social equity and sustainable economic growth at the village level

    Masculinity as an Educational Process in the Reproduction of Gender Roles

    This paper questions the symbolic production and educational reproduction of masculinity among the Sade community of Lombok, Indonesia. Based on ethnographic evidence, it critically analyzes the ways in which the traditional male authority is not only maintained through cultural practices and kinship systems but is actually taught, moralized and reproduced through generations. Although emergent forms of transitional masculinity, including male participation in household chores and shared household decision-making, may seem to be progressive, the results demonstrate that such changes frequently act to re-legitimize, rather than challenge, patriarchal authority. In this setting, masculinity is not so much a role as a symbolic regime, coded in ritual speech, spatial hierarchies, rights of inheritance, and public moral acknowledgment. The study will help in making critical contributions to the sociology of education by conceptualizing masculinity as a culturally constituted symbolic regime of governance and gendered pedagogy. It claims that learning in traditional societies is much more than schooling, and that it is carried out in ritualized speech, intergenerational imitation, and spatial-cultural coding. This gendered pedagogy socializes boys into power and speech and girls into service and silence and defines what is possible, permissible and desirable to both. The research criticizes equity-based educational interventions that focus on access or participation without focusing on the symbolic narratives of legitimacy and leadership. The results demand a radical reconsideration of gender-responsive education: an education that deconstructs the cultural logics of masculinity, de-centers patriarchal symbolism, and re-builds the moral architectures in which authority is learned and reproduced

    Waste Reduction in Fertilizer Manufacturing Through Lean Six Sigma and 5S Implementation

    This study aims to analyze the waste that occurs in the fertilizer production process at PT XYZ and provide suggestions for improvement with the Lean Six Sigma approach and the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke). Data was collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, then analyzed using the DMAIC stages and tools such as Value Stream Mapping, RCA, and VALSAT. The results showed the three highest wastes were defects, motion, and transportation, with an average DPMO value of 32,706.67 and a sigma level of 3.43. The proposed improvements focused on implementing 5S to increase work efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities. After the improvement, the process efficiency value increased by 6.86%, indicating the effectiveness of the applied method

    Flood Mitigation Strategy Based on Hydrological and Hydraulic Modelling in the Urban Area

    The urgency of this research lies in the need for a scientific-based solution in understanding the pattern of runoff and flood inundation to support effective mitigation planning. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the Tallo River runoff before and after infrastructure development; identify the main factors causing flood inundation in the affected area and develop flood mitigation strategies based on hydrological and hydraulic modeling. The methods used include data collection using 15 years of rainfall data (2010–2024), topographic maps (DEM), and land use information; hydrological analysis by calculating the design flood discharge using the Rational and Nakayasu methods; hydraulic modeling with HEC-RAS 2D flood inundation simulation to understand the pattern of inundation distribution due to increasing runoff discharge; evaluation of the impact of development by comparing the runoff discharge before and after development and identifying its contribution to flood risk and mitigation strategies by compiling technical recommendations such as raising the embankment, improving drainage, and increasing the elevation of the affected area. The results of the study indicate that flooding in the Tallo River is mainly caused by the river's inability to accommodate the runoff discharge and the backwater effect of the urban drainage system. The increase in discharge due to the construction of a shopping center was recorded as very small (0.84 m³/second) and was not significant to the occurrence of flooding. The proposed mitigation strategies include building a 2.5-meter high embankment, increasing drainage capacity, and regulating the elevation of the affected area

    Mapping and Analysis of Stunting Risk Factors in East Java

    The prevalence of stunting in East Java Province was recorded at 17.7%, where this figure has been below the maximum limit of the WHO stunting prevalence, but still has not reached the Ministry of Health's performance target. The purpose of this study is to provide information about the distribution of stunting cases and their risk factors visually through maps, as well as to identify factors that affect the prevalence of stunting in East Java Province in 2023. This study uses a quantitative research design with cross sectional. The population in this study is districts/cities in East Java Province in 2023, which is 38 districts/cities. The sample in this study is the entire total population. The analysis used was multiple linear mapping and regression, using GeoDa software. The mapping results showed that the highest prevalence of stunting was found in Jember Regency, Lumajang Regency, Probolinggo Regency, and Probolinggo City. The results of the multiple linear regression test showed that the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in infants < 6 months significantly (p=0.01227) had an effect on reducing the prevalence of stunting. Population density (p=0.09750), number of posyandu (p=0.94130), percentage of households with access to healthy latrines (p=0.76093), and number of villages/sub-districts with 5 STBM pillars (p=0.9414) did not have a significant effect on reducing the prevalence of stunting. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used to develop more effective intervention programs in reducing the prevalence of stunting in East Java Province, such as focusing on exclusive breastfeeding in 1,000 HPK

    Etiology, Clinical Symptoms, and Risk Factors of Oculomotor Nerve Paralysis

    The third cranial nerve, also known as the oculomotor nerve, consists of two main components: the external parasympathetic fibers that innervate the ciliary muscles and the sphincter pupillae, and the deep somatic fibers that control the levator palpebrae superioris and four extraocular muscles. Oculomotor nerve palsy has multiple etiologies and can indicate severe underlying pathology. Damage to this nerve results in characteristic symptoms such as ptosis, diplopia, restricted eye movement, and diminished or absent pupillary light reflex. This study aims to evaluate the clinical characteristics of oculomotor nerve paralysis based on its etiology, age distribution, gender prevalence, and associated risk factors. This study employs a literature review using a narrative review design. Data were collected from various indexed and accredited electronic sources such as Scopus, SINTA, DOAJ, SpringerLink, Cochrane, Biomed, Portal Garuda, Google Scholar, Elsevier/Clinical Key, Gale, PubMed, and other relevant databases. A total of 13 relevant articles were identified for this narrative review. The findings indicate that vascular abnormalities, including microvascular ischemia, aneurysms, and subarachnoid hemorrhages, are the most frequent causes of oculomotor nerve paralysis. The most commonly reported symptoms among affected patients are ptosis and diplopia. The condition is most prevalent in individuals aged 51-60 years, and women are more susceptible to oculomotor nerve paralysis than men. The most frequent cause of oculomotor nerve paralysis is an aneurysm of the posterior communicating artery. This condition predominantly affects individuals aged 51-60 years and is more common in women

    The Effect of Suplementation Omega-3 on Sputum Conversion, Body Mass Index, Interleukin-6 and Monocyte Lymphocyte Ratio in the Treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosis

    Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by Mycobacteriun Tuberculosis. Its cases continue to increase both in Indonesia, and in the world. Efforts to increase the success rate of TB treatment and reduce the level of transmission need to continue to be developed, one of which is with additional therapy in its treatment. Omega-3 has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial potential, which is predicted to increase the success of TB treatment, as seen from sputum conversion, increased body mass index (BMI) and important inflammatory parameters in TB infection namely interleukin-6 (IL-6), monocyte lymphocyte ratio (MLR) values. This study was conducted to determine the effect of Omega-3 addition on sputum conversion, BMI, IL-6 levels and MLR values in pulmonary tuberculosis treatment. Experimental study with consecutive sampling in drug-sensitive pulmonary TB patients who were given additional Omega-3 dose of 1,200 mg (@600mg/capsule), compared with the control group. Each sample was monitored for sputum conversion, BMI, IL-6 levels and MLR values at week 0 (m0), week 4 (m4) and week 8 (m8). In this study, there was a significant effect of adding Omega-3 on reducing IL-6 levels (p= 0.013), reducing MLR values (p= 0.005) and increasing BMI (p= 0.047) but no significant effect on sputum conversion (p= 1,000). The addition of Omega-3 had a significant effect on reducing IL-6 levels, reducing MLR values and increasing BMI, but did not have a significant effect on sputum conversion in pulmonary TB treatment

    The Effect of Nigella Sativa L. Extract on Blood Glucose Levels in Alloxan-Induced Hyperglycemic Mus musculus

    Hyperglycemia is one of the conditions of increasing blood glucose levels. There are various treatment options in patients with hyperglycemia, one of which is non-drug therapy with traditional medicine. A traditional medicinal plant with various benefits, namely black cumin which is known to have a variety of ingredients that can lower blood glucose levels. Knowing the effect of black cumin extract on blood glucose levels in mice with alloxane-induced hyperglycemia. The research design used was a pre and post test with control group design with a total sample of 27 mice divided into 3 groups where each group consisted of 9 heads. Group 1 is the control group while group 2 and group 3 will be treated respectively. The analysis was carried out with a paired sample t-test to see the differences between each group before and after treatment. The results of the study on the average blood glucose levels before treatment and after the administration of black cumin treatment there were changes in each group obtained a significance value of 0.000 at both doses of black cumin extract. Based on the results obtained, it is known that black cumin extract can reduce blood glucose levels where the greater the dose is directly proportional to the decrease in blood glucose levels

    Pattern of Cytology and Lung Biopsy Findings in Patients with Chronic Inflammation, Atypical Lesions and Cancer by Age Group

    Lung diseases, both non-neoplastic such as chronic pneumonia and neoplastic such as lung cancer, have similar clinical characteristics so that they are difficult to differentiate. Cytological studies and lung biopsies are important diagnostic methods in determining the pattern of findings between the two conditions, especially when related to the patient's age group. This study used a retrospective descriptive design to analyze patterns of cytology and lung biopsy findings in patients with chronic lung inflammation, inflammation with atypical cells, and lung cancer based on age group. Data was taken from patient medical records at Sidawangi Hospital, West Java, in the period July 2024 – January 2025. Of the 109 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 87 patients were diagnosed with chronic pneumonia and 36 patients with lung cancer. The results showed that the average age of lung cancer patients was 62.78 years, while chronic lung inflammation patients had an average age of 56.12 years. Patients with atypical lesions had a mean age of 47.82 years. These findings indicate differences in cytology and lung biopsy patterns between chronic pneumonia and lung cancer patients, with a higher prevalence of lung cancer in the elderly
