Cancel Culture in South Korea's Entertainment Industry: Media Framing through the Lens of Deviance

    Get PDF
The media has the power to carry out media framing and the public has the power to believe or not and participate in spreading‎ the results of the media framing or not, which will eventually lead to whether or not a cancel culture happens. The author wants‎ to analyze how Kumparan news articles apply framing to actor Kim Seon Ho's scandalous news which caused him to be exposed‎ to cancel culture, through journalistic analysis with The Sphere of Deviance theory by Daniel Hallin. The author conducted a‎ thematic analysis of 9 articles regarding the actor Kim Seon Ho scandal published by Kumparan in the period of 19 October 2021-‎‎22 October 2021 and resulted in 3 divisions of categories: positive (not supporting cancel culture), negative (supporting cancel‎ culture), and neutral. From the 9 news articles that were sampled, after the analysis, the writer produced the following data: 2‎ articles in the positive category, 1 article in the negative category, and 6 articles in the neutral category. Even though there is no‎ dominant framing in the article published by Kumparan regarding the Kim Seon Ho scandal, it can still be concluded that indeed‎ the media has power through media framing, as well as the public who have power over the information obtained from the‎ media (whether it is the result of media framing or not)

Corruption, especially bribery by civil servants (PNS), is a serious problem that threatens the integrity of the government system in Indonesia. Law enforcement in overcoming corruption is very important in order to realize a clean government and free from abuse of authority. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of law enforcement in eradicating corruption in the form of bribery involving civil servants. This study uses an analytical descriptive approach by examining existing regulations, the role of law enforcement officials, and challenges in implementing law enforcement against civil servants involved in bribery. The results of the study show that despite strict regulations, law enforcement against civil servants involved in bribery practices still faces various obstacles, such as weak internal supervision and the potential for conflicts of interest. Therefore, it is necessary to increase cooperation between law enforcement agencies, such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Police, and the Prosecutor's Office, to strengthen the supervision mechanism and take firm action against corrupt actors. This research is expected to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of corruption eradication in Indonesia

    Get PDF
Melasma is a skin condition characterized by hyperpigmented patches, generally appearing on facial areas such as the cheeks, forehead, and upper lip. This condition is more common in women, especially during pregnancy or when using hormonal contraceptives. The factors that cause melasma include sun exposure, hormonal changes, and genetic factors. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness and safety of the use of oral Tranexamic acid (TXA) in the treatment of melasma based on recent studies. The method used by literature search in journals published between 2022–2024 used keywords related to oral TXA and melasma. Studies that met the inclusion criteria were evaluated to compare the outcomes of oral TXA therapy based on dose, duration, and side effects. The results showed that oral TXA was proven to be effective in reducing the Melasma Area Severity Index (MASI) score with a dose of 500–1500 mg/day for 8–12 weeks. A significant decrease in MASI scores was achieved at week 12, showing consistent results across multiple studies. The most commonly reported side effects are gastrointestinal disorders, such as nausea and abdominal pain. Oral TXA does not cause serious side effects at doses up to 4 g/day. Tranexamic acid (TXA) in oral form is an effective and safe therapy in managing melasma.  However, further research is needed to determine the ideal duration of treatment and strategies in preventing melasma recurrence

The quality of health services encompasses several factors, such as service speed, diagnostic accuracy, facility comfort, the friendly attitude of medical personnel, and patient satisfaction with the services provided. Patient perceptions of service quality play a vital role in building trust and loyalty toward healthcare institutions. According to the 2024 annual report of Ir. Soekarno Regional General Hospital, while there has been a decline in overall patient visits, the number of returning patients has increased. This study aimed to examine the relationship between patient perceptions of service quality and the interest in outpatient re-visits at Ir. Soekarno Regional General Hospital, Sukoharjo Regency. The research used a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 146 respondents were selected using accidental sampling, determined through the Lemeshow formula based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data was collected through a questionnaire using a Likert scale, and analysis was performed using Chi-Square tests. The results indicate a significant relationship between the physical dimension (p=0.005) and interest in repeat visits. However, other dimensions such as reliability (p=0.628), personal interaction (p=1.000), problem solving (p=1.000), and policy (p=0.119) showed no significant relationship with outpatient re-visit interest. Overall, the perceived service quality was considered less than optimal, as only the physical dimension influenced repeat visit interest, while other aspects did not. Therefore, it is recommended that the hospital maintain its current physical facilities while focusing on improvements in other service dimensions to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty

    Get PDF
Colorectal cancer has a high incidence and mortality rate. Surgery can increase the cytokine IL-6 which triggers inflammation and metastasis. The combination of general and epidural anesthesia has the potential to suppress IL-6, improve the tumor microenvironment, provide analgesia and improve postoperative recovery. To compare the effectiveness of postoperative analgesia quality in colorectal cancer patients receiving general anesthesia with combined epidural anesthesia. The single blind RCT study involved 44 patients who underwent surgery on colorectal cancer at Prof. Ngoerah Hospital. The study subjects were divided into two groups, group K who received general anesthesia and group P who received general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia. Patients' IL-6 will be evaluated preoperatively and 6 hours postoperatively. VAS and QOR-15 will be assessed 24 hours postoperatively. Of the 44 patients analyzed, the combined general anesthesia with epidural anesthesia group showed a significantly lower difference in IL-6 levels compared to the general anesthesia alone group of -14.69 [95% CI, p = <0.001]. The 24-hour postoperative VAS score was significantly lower than conventional general anesthesia, both in stationary and mobile conditions. In postoperative recovery, it was found that conventional general anesthesia combined with epdiural anesthesia gave greater QOR-15 results compared to conventional general anesthesia. General anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia in colorectal cancer patients undergoing surgery can provide a lower difference in IL-6, lower VAS and higher QOR-15 postoperative satisfaction than the general anesthesia group

Hypertension in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, with serious complications such as preeclampsia, eclampsia, stroke, and even death. Data in Kotamobagu City in 2025 showed that 59 of 295 pregnant women (13.9%) experienced hypertension. Non-pharmacological efforts, such as herbal-based complementary therapies, are still rarely used due to lack of knowledge among the public and health workers. The research method used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest with a control group design. A sample of 30 respondents was divided into three groups: red ginger (n=10), lemongrass (n=10), and control (n=10). The research instruments included an aneroid sphygmomanometer, a stopwatch, a water thermometer, an observation sheet, and an intervention SOP. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Kruskal-Wallis with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that red ginger foot baths reduced systolic blood pressure by an average of 22 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 14 mmHg (p=0.007; p=0.004), while lemongrass reduced systolic blood pressure by 27 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 11 mmHg (p=0.004; p=0.008). The control group did not show a significant decrease (p>0.05). The Kruskal-Wallis test showed a significant difference between the groups (p=0.000 systolic; p=0.032 diastolic), with lemongrass being more effective on systolic blood pressure, while red ginger was more dominant on diastolic blood pressure. In conclusion, red ginger and lemongrass foot baths are effective as a safe complementary therapy for hypertensive pregnant women, and have the potential to be a supporting intervention for antenatal care

The Effect of Resveratrol on Fasting Blood Glucose Levels as a Parameter of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and increased oxidative stress. Resveratrol, a naturally occurring polyphenolic compound, has been widely investigated for its potential antidiabetic effects in preclinical studies, although findings across animal models remain inconsistent and require systematic synthesis. This study aimed to review and synthesize evidence on the effects of resveratrol on glycemic regulation, insulin signaling, lipid metabolism, and oxidative stress in animal models of T2DM. The review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Electronic searches were conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Sinta, and Google Scholar for articles published between 2019 and 2024. Eligible studies were original experimental investigations employing animal models of T2DM with resveratrol as the primary intervention. Owing to heterogeneity in study designs and outcome measures, data were synthesized using a qualitative narrative approach. Seven studies met the inclusion criteria. Overall, resveratrol administration was associated with reductions in fasting blood glucose, improvements in insulin sensitivity, and modulation of key insulin signaling pathways, particularly the PI3K Akt FOXO1 axis. Most studies also reported favorable effects on lipid profiles and reductions in oxidative stress markers. Although one study reported no significant improvement in glycemic indices, the overall pattern indicated consistent positive metabolic effects. This systematic review suggests that resveratrol exerts antidiabetic effects in animal models of T2DM by improving glycemic control, insulin signaling, lipid metabolism, and oxidative stress regulation. However, further well designed studies are needed to clarify dose response relationships and facilitate clinical translation

The increase in people with HIV/AIDS (ODHA) has a negative impact on society. One of the impacts that often occurs in ODHA is self-esteem caused by stigma and discrimination from society so that family support is needed to help eliminate stigma and discrimination from society so that ODHA can be confident, can accept their condition, and are enthusiastic in living life . to determine the relationship between family support and quality of life in ODHA at the Sentani Community Health Center Polyclinic. This type of research is descriptive quantitative conducted in July 2025, with a sample of 56 respondents with a non-probability sampling method. Data were obtained using questionnaires and analyzed univariately and bivariately using Somer's D statistical tests. It was found that 31 respondents had high family support and 25 respondents had low support and 30 respondents had good quality of life and 26 respondents had low quality of life. So the results of the Somer's D statistical test obtained a P-Value of 0.019 <0.05. Family support for ODHA patients has a high support category and quality of life in ODHA patients has a good quality of life category. This shows that there is a significant influence between family support on the quality of life of patients undergoing treatment at the Sentani Community Health Center Polyclinic. By increasing public insight, the stigma obtained by ODHA related to their disease can be reduced. So that families who have family members with HIV/AIDS problems can provide attention and support to their family members who are undergoing treatment
