Evaluation of Cost-Effectiveness and Patient Satisfaction of Topical, Topical Plus Systemic, and Topical Plus Laser Treatment in Patients with Acne Vulgaris High Level
Acne vulgaris is a prevalent dermatological condition that negatively affects quality of life and psychological well-being. Although topical, systemic, and laser therapies are commonly used, comparative evidence on their effectiveness, patient satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness in Southeast Asia remains limited. This prospective cohort study was conducted at Erha Clinic from April 2024 to March 2025. Ninety patients with acne vulgaris were evenly allocated into three treatment groups: topical monotherapy, topical plus systemic therapy, and topical plus laser therapy. Clinical effectiveness was assessed using lesion counts and the Investigator Global Acne (IGA) scale, patient satisfaction using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and cost-effectiveness through total cost and cost per lesion reduction. Measurements were taken at baseline and at weeks 2, 4, 8, and 12. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 22. All treatment modalities significantly reduced acne lesions and improved IGA scores and patient satisfaction. Topical plus laser therapy achieved the fastest and greatest lesion reduction and highest satisfaction but incurred the highest cost. Topical monotherapy demonstrated comparable long-term clinical outcomes with the lowest cost per lesion reduced, indicating superior cost-effectiveness. All treatments were clinically effective; however, topical monotherapy was the most cost-effective option, while topical plus laser offered faster results at higher cost. Treatment selection should balance clinical benefits and economic considerations, particularly in resource-limited Southeast Asian settings
Waiting Time Experiences and Perceptions Among National Health Insurance Patients in Outpatient Care
Waiting time is a critical aspect of healthcare service quality that influences patient satisfaction and overall service evaluation. This study aims to explore patients’ perceptions of waiting time in healthcare services by examining experiential factors that shape how waiting is interpreted and tolerated. A qualitative research design was employed, using in-depth interviews with four patients who had direct experience with healthcare service delivery. Data were analyzed thematically to identify recurring patterns in participants’ accounts. The findings reveal that perceptions of waiting time were influenced not only by its duration but also by procedural clarity, staff responsiveness, communication and information transparency, service environment, and the presence of personalization and emotional support. Clear service procedures and timely, understandable information reduced uncertainty and moderated negative perceptions of waiting. Additionally, clean and comfortable environments, along with empathetic and attentive staff interactions, enhanced patients’ ability to tolerate waiting and contributed to more positive service experiences. The study concludes that waiting time should be understood as a multidimensional experience shaped by both operational and interpersonal factors. These findings highlight the importance of adopting patient-centered strategies that integrate effective communication, environmental comfort, and emotional support in managing waiting time within healthcare services
Vitamin E Supplementation and Its Impact on Pulmonary Tuberculosis Treatment Outcomes: A Systematic Review
Pulmonary tuberculosis remains a global health problem, and antioxidant deficiencies such as vitamin E contribute to increased oxidative stress in patients. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of vitamin E supplementation on the effectiveness of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment through a systematic review based on PRISMA 2020 guidelines. This systematic review included clinical and observational studies investigating the relationship between vitamin E and pulmonary tuberculosis. Literature searches were conducted in PubMed and Google Scholar (2008–2021) using the keywords “Vitamin E,” “Tuberculosis,” and “Lung.” Methodological quality was assessed using the JBI Checklist and Cochrane RoB2. The process was carried out at the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia, Makassar, from March to August 2024. Secondary data from published studies were used; therefore, ethical approval was not required. Six studies met the inclusion criteria, consisting of two randomized controlled trials, two in vitro studies, one case–control study, and one cross-sectional study. The synthesis results showed that vitamin E supplementation consistently reduced oxidative stress, as indicated by a significant decrease in malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and an increase in enzyme activity. In addition, vitamin E improved inflammatory status through reduced C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and increased serum leptin, as well as enhanced cellular immune responses through elevated IL-2 and IFN-γ levels. Overall, vitamin E supplementation contributed to improved treatment effectiveness and quality of life in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.Vitamin E supplementation has potential as an adjuvant therapy that enhances the effectiveness of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment through antioxidant and immunomodulatory mechanisms

Flood disasters are one of the major threats in Gorontalo Province, with significant impacts on communities and the health service system. Nurses, as frontline health workers, play a strategic role in community-based emergency response, particularly in providing first aid, triage, and health education. This study aims to analyze the preparedness level of community-based nurses in responding to flood disasters in Limboto Barat District, Gorontalo Regency. A descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach was applied. The sample consisted of all 30 nurses working at Limboto Barat Public Health Center, selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed univariately. The results showed that most respondents were aged 31-40 years (36.7%), female (73.3%), had a bachelor’s degree in nursing (56.7%), and had more than five years of work experience (60%). Nurses’ preparedness was still low in terms of knowledge, with 73.3% categorized as poor. Regarding attitudes, 60% of respondents showed poor preparedness, while skills were mainly in the fair (46.7%) and poor (46.7%) categories. These findings indicate that community-based nurse preparedness is still not optimal, especially in the dimensions of knowledge, attitude, and skills. In conclusion, structured interventions through continuous training, disaster simulations, and cross-sectoral collaboration are required to strengthen nurses’ preparedness capacity in responding to flood disasters

The Influence of Work Period and Work Motivation on Asn's Interest in Continuing Studies: JEL Classification: J24; J28; M54; I26; H83
Civil servants' interest in continuing their studies to a higher level of education poses a unique challenge amid efforts to improve the capacity and professionalism of the civil service. This study was conducted to analyze and explain the influence of length of service and work motivation on civil servants' interest in continuing their studies, both partially and simultaneously. This study uses an explanatory quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The study employs a census technique with a population of 73 civil servants working at the Department of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning of South Sulawesi Province. The analysis results indicate that length of service has a positive and significant influence on civil servants' interest in continuing their education. This reflects that the longer someone works, the higher the potential desire to enhance their competencies through formal education. Additionally, work motivation also has a positive and significant influence on the interest in continuing education, indicating that internal drives such as the desire to achieve, grow, and attain higher career positions further strengthen civil servants' decisions to pursue further education. Simultaneously, length of service and work motivation were found to have a significant impact on civil servants' interest in continuing their education. These findings indicate that extensive work experience and high levels of motivation can be important driving factors in increasing civil servants' interest in pursuing further education as part of their personal and professional development
Transforming Building Infrastructure into Communication Systems for Smart City: A Conceptual Analysis of Metallic Structures as Antennas
The transformation of building infrastructure into intelligent communication systems is a key enabler of smart city development. This paper investigates the feasibility of utilizing metallic structural elements such as steel reinforcement bars, hollow sections, and galvanized steel as embedded antenna within building frameworks. To provide validated evidence, this work incorporates full-wave electromagnetic simulations using Ansys HFSS to analyze resonance behavior, impedance matching, radiation patterns, and gain performance in the sub-GHz band, particularly around 700 MHz for IoT applications. The simulation results demonstrate that selected building materials can achieve stable resonance and nearly omnidirectional radiation characteristics, with realized gains up to 0.47 dBi and bandwidths sufficient for LPWAN technologies such as NB-IoT and LoRaWAN. These findings confirm the dual functionality of structural metals, offering both mechanical strength and communication capability. The study provides a validated basis for future experimental prototyping and integration of antenna- embedded infrastructures in smart building environments
The Analysis of TBIG Stock Fair Value Using the Free Cash Flow to Equity and Relative Valuation Methods
This study aims to estimate the fair value of PT Tower Bersama Group Tbk shares using the Free Cash Flow to Equity and Relative Valuation methods. It compares both methods to determine which is more accurate and assesses the risk or accuracy of the current TBIG share purchase price that investors may pay. This study uses a quantitative descriptive methodology with a case study approach. Based on this methodology, it describes in detail the characteristics and phenomena present in PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk, specifically regarding the analysis of fair stock prices using the Free Cash Flow to Equity and Relative Valuation (PER and PBV) methods. Based on the calculation, a comparison is made between the intrinsic value of TBIG shares and the stock price on the stock exchange from 2018 to 2023. It can be concluded that during this period, the fair value of TBIG shares was below the stock price on the exchange, indicating that the shares were overvalued. As of July 2024, the current stock price is IDR 1,950. Based on the 2023 FCFE calculation, the intrinsic value is IDR 16,859 billion with 22 billion shares outstanding, resulting in an intrinsic value of IDR 766 per share. Since the intrinsic value (IDR 766) is less than the stock price (IDR 1,950), it is categorized as overvalued. Meanwhile, based on the calculation above, the Price-to-Earnings Ratio (PER) of TBIG is 30x. This implies that it would take 30 times the company’s earnings to recoup the investment, which is relatively high
