Comparative Preclinical Evaluation of Nelumbo Nucifera and Related Herbal Extracts in Breast Cancer Models: Molecular Pathways and Effectiveness
This study provides a comparative preclinical evaluation of Nelumbo nucifera (lotus) and related herbal extracts in breast cancer models, focusing on their targeted molecular pathways and effectiveness. The analysis includes both in vitro and in vivo studies involving lotus leaf, seedpod, and related plant extracts from Nymphaea, Moringa, and Taraxacum. The findings demonstrate that N. nucifera leaf alcoholic extract exhibits the most comprehensive anticancer profile, with effects validated in multiple models, including those of ER-negative and radioresistant cells. The lotus seedpod extracts also demonstrated promising activity against resistant tumors by inhibiting DNA repair. Other herbal candidates demonstrated apoptotic or cytotoxic effects but were limited in scope or lacked in vivo confirmation. These results support the further development of lotus-derived compounds as promising multi-pathway therapeutic agents for breast cancer

The Effect of Participatory Leadership Style and Organizational Culture on Employee Performance : JEL Classification: M12, M14, D23, L32
In the current research, the authors conduct research aimed at determining the determinants of performance among the employees in government institutions; however, they argue that employee performance cannot be attributed to factors/determinants like managerial initiative alone but the collective influence of the leadership behaviour and the institutional culture combined. The empirical study, with quantitative research design and a sample of 50 employees taken as a random sample of Perumda Tirta Mangkaluku, Palopo City, uses multiple regressions in statistically examining the correlation between participative leadership, organisational culture and performance. This result shows that there is a positive relationship between participative leadership and performance but a point must be made that this effect is significantly weaker compared to that of organisational culture. In particular, participative leadership contributes only 27.9 percent of the variance in performance yet organisational culture contributes 59.6 percent. The findings give the impression that performance is not only dependent on the managerial efforts but is inherent in the organisation itself in terms of normative architecture. Culture, unlike appearing as a peripheral variable, is utilized as a constitutive power that influences behaviour among employees. The research, therefore, highlights the importance of programming not only to leadership training or institutional process reform, but to the development of meaning systems, symbolic integration and cultural conformity that would make high performance accessible and sustainable

Cost and Time Performance Analysis Using the Earned Value Concept in the Construction of the Integrated Lecture Building at the State Polytechnic of Shipbuilding Surabaya
Time and cost control is an important aspect in the success of construction projects, especially in large-scale projects such as the construction of the Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) of Surabaya State Polytechnic of Shipping. This research aims to analyze the time and cost performance of the project using the earned value concept. With this method, measurement and evaluation of project performance can be done quantitatively based on earned value data. The results of the analysis show that from the evaluation results in the 35th week, the value of ACWP is Rp. 47,741,219,980.93, the BCWP value is Rp. 47,874,478,839.55, and the BCWS value is Rp. 47,721,477,927.80. Based on the ACWP, BCWP, and BCWS values, the Cost Variance (CV) value is Rp. 133,258,858.63 and the Schedule Variance (SV) is Rp. 153,00,911.76. This figure indicates that the costs incurred are more efficient and the implementation time is faster than planned. The values of CPI and SPI equal to 1.00 indicate good cost performance within budget as well as good schedule performance with the schedule on time against the plan. The estimated cost of ETC is Rp. 1,476,532,576.73 and EAC is Rp. 49,217,752,557.66. The estimated time of ETS is Rp. 1.99 weeks and EAS is 36.99 weeks. With the application of this method, deviations from schedule and budget can be identified early so that decision making can be done appropriately to return the project to the predetermined schedule
