Stochastic velocity modeling for assessment of imaging uncertainty during seismic migration: application to salt bodies
International audienceVariations in the migration velocity model directly affect the position of the imaged reflectors in the subsurface, leading to structural imaging uncertainties. These uncertainties are not explicitly addressed when trying to deterministically build an adequate velocity model. This paper presents a new stochastic geology-controlled velocity modeling method handling the possible presence of a salt weld. This permits to generate a large set of geological scenarios and associated velocity models. Each model is used to remigrate the seismic data. Then, a statistical analysis of the resulting seismic images is performed to quantify the local variability of the seismic responses. The approach is applied to the imaging of salt diapirs, in an iterative scheme (migrate, pick and update). The results show that, similarly to stacking common mid-point gathers, the statistical analysis preferentially preserves recurrent features from an image to another. In particular, this analysis permits to distinguish between connected and detached diapirs without prior knowledge about their connectivity, highlighting the potential of the method to resolve important aspects about basin and reservoir architecture. More generally, it provides quantitative information on the parts of the seismic image most sensitive to migration velocity variations, which opens interesting perspective to quantitative interpretation uncertainty assessment. Finally, the presented application also suggests that it is possible to significantly improve the quality of the generated seismic images by sampling many possible geological scenarios
Histoires en projets aux XVIe et XXIe siècles: Lancelot Voisin de La Popelinière, Philippe Artières
International audienceCombining the study of historiographical texts from the 16th and 21st centuries, this article is dedicated to the genre of the authorial prospectus – a term referring here, in the continuity of its technical use in the history of publishing, to a type of discourse producing the announcement of one or more upcoming books. More specifically, the article confronts Le Dessein de l'histoire nouvelle des François (1599) by Lancelot Voisin de La Popelinière, on the one hand, and on the other Rêves d'histoire (2006/2014) by Philippe Artières. Based on situations and issues that cannot be reduced to one another and which must be taken into account, these two works allow us to observe the joint effects of spatialization and temporalization of which the project as a genre is capable. Retrospective by definition, the discourse of history is here virtualized, projected into a future to the advent of which the prospectus works in its own way, not without knowing that it is uncertain, subject to a set of conditions which are not only due to the desire or skill of the author. In 1599 as in 2006, the register of the project comes from a form of “grey literature” commonly used by historians to obtain various symbolic and financial support from patrons or public institutions. This paper seeks to appreciate the modes of textualization that can affect this prospective form, when it is subjected, as here, to a gesture of publication. Beyond its auxiliary function, this publication of the project tends to recognize in it a consistency and an inalienable value, made to inscribe this preparatory gesture in the long time of posterity.

Women writing for the liturgy: manuscripts from the Jesus Convent in Aveiro (1476-1529)
International audienceThe chapter focuses on the musical aspect of the Dominican Jesus Convent in Aveiro, Portugal, specifically the collection of Dominican chant books produced by the sisters. The sources provide insights into the cultural history of the Dominican order in Portugal and the late medieval reform of observance in Aveiro's Jesus Convent. Specific and standard Marian chants from Aveiro are explored as part of a multidisciplinary research perspective
International audienceMicropollutants, and in particular drug residues, are still described as "emerging contaminants" more than fifty years after the first research studies demonstrated their impact on the environment, and even on human health (Westerhoff and Yeomin, 2007). In an attempt to answer this question, this paper will look at how this issue has been tackled, with an overview of the research programs that deal/have dealt with micropollutants in France.
Smart city: Road flow management: An adaptation of K-means for Smart Controller Traffic Lights
International audienceTraffic signal systems play an important role in traffic management. The efficient organization of road networks can facilitate travel with all its posi- tive economic impacts. Conventional traffic signal control systems often fall short of providing effective urban traffic management, especially in terms of tra- vel and waiting times. Good mobility and traffic management are necessary in the development of smart cities, and conversely, the smart city will be a vector for the development of intelligent management of traffic and mobility. The main objective of our work is to propose a new solution for road traffic management through the dynamic management of intelligent traffic lights. Our solution reduces the waiting time of drivers, as well as the traffic congestion and users travel time by optimizing the time interval of the traffic signal depen- ding only on the number of vehicles on the road and ensuring road safety by reducing accidents, stress, and energy consumption

The fragmentation of public financing flows for developing countries appears to be an essential characteristic of the international financial architecture. This document explores the reasons for the proliferation of various institutions and funds and analyses its consequences in terms of efficiency, which are not all positive. After listing the various initiatives intended to reduce the harmful effects of the fragmentation of funding, such as the reduction in the number of funds, the search for greater transparency, a reform of multilateral institutions, the coordination of donors, it proposes the creation of a group of analysis, sharing, construction of common thought, fed by «scientific» information and in-depth comparative evaluation, which would bring together contributors and recipients. The possible locations of this instance are discussed.
