DUTASTERIDE AS AN EFFECTIVE TREATMENT IN ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA – A LITERATURE REVIEW
Introduction: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a common hereditary condition characterized by progressive hair loss in both men and women. While not a direct health threat, AGA significantly affects psychological well-being due to the role of hair in self-image and perceived attractiveness. Dutasteride, initially approved for benign prostatic hyperplasia, has demonstrated greater efficacy than finasteride in treating AGA. Its use in mesotherapy may help reduce systemic side effects, although more research is needed to confirm safety and define optimal treatment protocols.
Aim of study: To review current evidence on the efficacy and safety of dutasteride in the treatment of AGA and assess its potential as a therapeutic option.
Methods and material: A literature search was conducted using PubMed and Scopus to identify relevant studies on the use of dutasteride in AGA.
Results: Dutasteride 0.5 mg has shown superior efficacy compared to finasteride 1 mg and placebo in increasing hair count and shaft thickness in men with AGA. As a dual 5α-reductase inhibitor, dutasteride offers broader inhibition than finasteride, which targets only the type 2 isoenzyme. Higher doses, such as 2.5 mg, may yield even greater improvements. Mesotherapy with dutasteride appears to be well tolerated and may reduce systemic exposure, though evidence remains limited, and further studies are required to determine long-term safety and appropriate dosing.
Conclusion: Although not officially approved for AGA, dutasteride demonstrates superior clinical efficacy compared to finasteride. Side effects, particularly regarding sexual function, appear similar; however, concerns about long-term risks such as depression and metabolic changes persist. These should be carefully considered in patient consultations. Mesotherapy may offer a safer delivery method, but more robust data are needed to support its widespread use

CLINICAL SPECTRUM AND THERAPEUTIC ADVANCES IN PEDIATRIC PAROXYSMAL NOCTURNAL HEMOGLOBINURIA
Background: Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is a rare, acquired hematopoietic stem cell disorder driven by somatic PIGA mutations, leading to uncontrolled complement activation, intravascular hemolysis, and thrombotic risk. Pediatric PNH represents fewer than 10% of cases and demonstrates a distinct clinical phenotype that complicates diagnosis and management.
Methods: A comprehensive literature search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus was conducted through July 2025 using predefined keywords related to PNH, pediatrics, bone marrow failure, and complement inhibitors. Eligible studies included clinical trials, registry data, systematic reviews, case series, and case reports. Relevant adult studies were also reviewed when mechanistic or therapeutic insights were applicable to pediatric disease. Data were synthesized narratively, focusing on pathophysiology, clinical spectrum, diagnostic approaches, and therapeutic advances.
Results: Pediatric PNH most often presents with bone marrow failure syndromes rather than classic hemolytic features. Hemoglobinuria is infrequent, while cytopenias predominate. Thrombosis, though less common than in adults, remains a serious complication. High-sensitivity flow cytometry enables early and accurate diagnosis, particularly for small clone sizes. Complement inhibitors—including eculizumab, ravulizumab, and crovalimab—have markedly improved survival and reduced morbidity, while emerging agents targeting proximal complement pathways (pegcetacoplan, iptacopan, danicopan) show promise. Hematopoietic cell transplantation remains the only curative option but is reserved for selected patients.
Conclusions: Pediatric PNH differs significantly from adult disease in presentation and management. Advances in complement inhibition have transformed prognosis, but further pediatric-specific research and inclusion in clinical trials are urgently needed to establish evidence-based guidelines and optimize long-term outcomes

Objective: Telemedicine, defined as the distribution of health-related services and information via telecommunication technologies, has rapidly evolved from a niche solution into a central component of modern healthcare systems. As healthcare systems around the world contend with the challenges of aging populations, a rise in chronic diseases, and a growing shortage of healthcare professionals, telemedicine could be an effective solution, offering innovative ways to expand access to care, enhance patient outcomes and optimize resource use. The aim of this review is to critically explore and evaluate the role of telemedicine in modern healthcare services, with a specific focus on its applications in managing chronic diseases, acute care, and mental health services. This study seeks to analyze the benefits, challenges, and limitations associated with the widespread adoption of telemedicine.
Methods: The article is the result of review of recent scientific literature using PubMed database. Literature was reviewed using keywords.
Key findings: In recent years, telemedicine has demonstrated significant benefits in enhancing healthcare delivery, particularly in chronic disease management, acute care, and mental health services. Evidence shows improved patient outcomes, reduced hospitalizations, and greater accessibility for underserved populations. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated telemedicine adoption, highlighting its value in ensuring continuity of care and fostering technological innovation, such as AI-driven diagnostics and remote monitoring. Despite these advantages, barriers such as the digital divide, regulatory challenges, and limitations in conducting physical examinations persist.
Conclusion: Telemedicine has rapidly become an integral component of modern healthcare, offering significant benefits in chronic disease management, acute care, and mental health services. The flexibility and accessibility it provides have proven invaluable, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it ensured continuity of care while minimizing risks. With continued innovation and thoughtful integration, telemedicine is poised to play a crucial role in the future of healthcare, enhancing patient outcomes and expanding access to essential services, despite its challenges
THE ROLE OF CORTICOSTEROID INJECTIONS IN SPORTS MEDICINE – ARTICLES REVIEW
Research objectives: This article analyzes the use of corticosteroid injections in the treatment of various musculoskeletal injuries in athletes considering both benefits and risks. Efficacy of this kind of treatment was analyzed for most common injuries mentioned in the literature including: rotator cuff disorders, tendinopathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, knee osteoarthritis, and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) syndrome.
Methodology: For the purpose of this article, databases such as PubMed, PMC, Google Scholar, and Scopus were searched for relevant documents.
Results: Review of the literature shows differences between the outcomes in specific injuries, but most of them show effective short-term pain reduction with corticosteroid injections. It is important to drive extra attention to other forms of therapies such as physical therapy, which combined with steroid injections improve patient outcomes
THE IMPACT OF INTERIOR LIGHTING ON HEALTH AND VISUAL COMFORT
Light is being increasingly utilized as a therapeutic intervention, with numerous studies documenting specific cases of its application. Despite its potential benefits, it is crucial to acknowledge the risks associated with adverse side effects. Interior lighting not only defines the aesthetic perception of a space but also plays a fundamental role in shaping human physiological and psychological well-being.Scientific research has demonstrated that light stimulation can contribute to the improvement of various physiological and psychological conditions, including depressive disorders and sleep disturbances such as insomnia. Conversely, inadequate lighting may lead to headaches, visual fatigue, general exhaustion, and even disruptions in vitamin D synthesis.This study examines the impact of lighting on human health and explores strategies for optimizing lighting design to enhance visual comfort and boost productivity. The color temperature of light is a critical factor in this context: warm-toned lighting fosters a sense of comfort and relaxation, whereas cooler light enhances concentration and cognitive performance.To minimize the adverse effects of lighting, it is advisable to use luminaires with adjustable brightness and color temperature, as well as to maximize the integration of natural light into interior spaces. Additionally, reducing glare, ensuring the appropriate placement of light sources, and minimizing flicker in fluorescent lighting are essential measures for improving visual comfort.Interior lighting should not be regarded solely as an aesthetic element but rather as a crucial determinant of human health and efficiency. An optimized lighting design can significantly enhance quality of life and prevent a range of health issues associated with poor lighting conditions
CONSTITUENTS OF APPLYING THE TARGET COST AND VALUE ANALYSIS AS TOOLS TO REDUCE COSTS IN THE INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS OF THE CONDOR COMPLEX
This study aims to examine the extent to which the necessary conditions for implementing target costing and value analysis methodologies are present in institutions operating within the Condor Complex, given the critical role these approaches play in cost reduction and enhancing organizational competitiveness. Additionally, the study seeks to identify potential challenges that may hinder their implementation. To achieve these objectives, data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS Version 23 to test the hypotheses and derive relevant findings. The results indicated a general lack of interest among institutions within the Condor Complex in adopting target costing and value analysis methodologies. This reluctance is primarily attributed to unfavorable economic conditions that discourage the use of modern cost management techniques. Nevertheless, the study identified certain enabling factors that could support the adoption of target costing in specific institutions within the complex to help reduce costs
SUSTAINABLE TOURIST REQUALIFICATION OF THE BARDO DISTRICT CONSTANTINE – ALGERIA
Tourism, long neglected by urban managers, is now recognized as a key sector for the attractiveness of cities. Today, urban planning can no longer ignore this sector, as cities attract visitors through the tourism opportunities and events they offer. Urban spaces are being designed to highlight activities, exchanges, and meetings, making tourism an important pillar of the city's development strategy.
This research aims to reintegrate the city of Constantine, particularly its historic center, into the development dynamic, focusing on the old town and its surroundings marked by the declining colonial fabric and the endangered Bardo district, considered "sites in need" of development and attractiveness. The challenge is to reintegrate them into a virtuous circle of value creation and regeneration.
Located in northeastern Algeria, Constantine had a population of over 80,000 in 2016. One of the oldest cities in North Africa, it plays a major role in Mediterranean history. Its strategic geographical location, at the intersection of major North-South (Skikda-Biskra) and East-West (Sétif-Annaba) axes, enables it to perform significant cultural and industrial functions.
Over the years, the city has transformed and expanded due to demographic and economic growth, the explosion of individual mobility, and competition for space. It is now necessary to restore meaning, coherence, and legibility to the territory, sometimes scattered, while addressing the consequences of a city disfigured by the dominance of cars and parking. The peripheral neighborhoods, just like the historic center, can become quality urban spaces and contribute to the city's attractiveness, as opposed to the undefined peripheral areas.
Thus, reclaiming struggling neighborhoods through their requalification can be a powerful lever for enhancing the city of Constantine. This offers residents access to modernity, improving quality of life and social cohesion, fostering a sense of belonging, and becoming a key element of the place's or community's identity.
Through this research, we seek to shed light on the issue of planning and promotion actions that accompany and reveal the ways of valorizing the city and its image, transforming it from an active city to a festive city, from a city of need to a city of desire. This transformation takes place through reflection on urbanity, culture, heritage, mobility, the reorganization of spaces and urban networks, and the places' capacity to accommodate. In this perspective, our efforts have focused on the originality of the approach, based on seeking innovation through the requalification of struggling peripheral neighborhoods and their integration into the surrounding urban fabric, through the creation of an urban park and cultural and tourist facilities, while respecting the criteria of sustainable development.
The image of the city of Constantine, reconciling its past with its future through sustainable tourism and heritage valorization, requires a more humanistic and coordinated urban policy. This policy favors soft, progressive requalifications, supported by public actions with strong symbolic significance, actively involving residents in the project and engaging a variety of private operators
PREDICTING AFFECTIVE EPISODES THROUGH DIGITAL MONITORING OF CIRCADIAN RHYTHM DISTURBANCES: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS
Introduction: Affective disorders are serious, long-lasting, and often relapsing conditions that strike an individual unpredictably. The ideal psychiatric monitoring mechanism would predict coming episodes before their full-blown clinical symptoms develop. This would be a tremendous advance and may be possible using our current understanding of the nature of affective disorders, portable device-based data collection capabilities, and remote data analysis. There are numerous reviews of the literature that cover the symptom recognition of affective disorders using mobile devices, but there are no reviews on the actual prediction of affective episodes. This review aims to cover that gap. Methods: A systematic review of five databases (2016-2025) was conducted and included 10 observational studies, mostly designed as prospective cohorts, that concentrated on the prognosis of affective disorders and utilized wearable devices. The variables under study were circadian parameters, sleep metrics, amounts and intensity of physical activity, and light exposure. Although the methodological diversity among the studies made direct comparisons problematic, the studies allowed for the identification of certain findings that appear promising for predicting the occurrence of affective episodes. Results: The review encompassed 10 observational studies (1416 subjects). Our synthesis showed that it is possible, even feasible, to predict affective episodes using mathematical models. These models assess the types of characteristic disturbances that individuals with affective disorders have in their circadian rhythms. When we applied some standard methods for doing this kind of analysis (Accuracy Metrics and AUC Values), the results gave us AUC values that ranged from about 0.67 to 0.98, depending on several factors. Conclusions: Predicting affective episodes is possible using wearable technology or smartphone app, which can detect disturbances in a person's circadian rhythm. Currently, the best methods for doing this merit a look because they could indeed allow for early intervention before the onset of manic or depressive symptoms
ASSESSMENT AND COMPENSATION OF HEALTH, LIFE AND EMOTIONAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM CRIMINAL ACTS IN MONGOLIA
This study explores the existing legal framework for assessing compensation for human life, health, and emotional harm, highlighting key obstacles and proposing recommendations for enhancing compliance with global norms.Changes in the political, socio-economic, and economic aspects of any country are ultimately reflected in laws and other legal acts. Law serves as the driving force of society. However, the control and management of this driving force depend on the individual, who is an integral part of society. Therefore, the essence of a state governed by the rule of law largely hinges on the guarantee and protection of human rights and freedoms.According to international norms, Article 2.27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights stipulates that “Everyone has the right to compensation for material and psychological damage.” Similarly, Article 16, Part 1 of the Mongolian Constitution asserts that “everyone has the right to life,” and Article 14 grants individuals the right to seek protection of their rights through the court system if they believe their rights have been violated. Personal life, health, honor, and reputation are recognized and safeguarded as fundamental human rights and freedoms.Therefore, it is essential to comprehensively address non-economic harm to human life, health, and mental well-being, as well as issues such as defamation and slander, and the legal mechanisms for their resolution and compensation
