Military Branding Strategies
U prvome dijelu rada objasnit ćemo značenje pojmova brend i brendiranje te analizirati značaj
kvalitetnog vizualnog dojma u komunikaciji i prezentaciji. U nastavku će se sagledati trenutna
situacija u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama glede pristupanja mladih u vojsku te će biti
prikazana analizira strategija i marketinških tehnika kojima se SAD služi prilikom brendiranja
vojnog poziva. Nakon što se prouče prednosti američkog modela, fokus rada prebacit će se na
Oružane snage Republike Hrvatske. Razradit će se termini poput identiteta i imidža OSRH
odnosno vizualnog identiteta OSRH. Sagledat će se mišljenja mladih o vojsci i njihova
zainteresiranost za služenje. U radu ćemo se osvrnuti na dosadašnje metode brendiranja,
promidžbe i načine pozicioniranja u odnosu na ciljanu publiku i analizirati što se od korisnih
američkih strategija može prilagoditi hrvatskom sustavu. Svrha ovoga rada je doprinos
cjelokupnom razvoju brenda, kako evaluacijom trenutnog stanja, tako i kreiranjem konkretnih
operativnih strategija koje će Oružane snage Republike Hrvatske moći koristiti prilikom
brendiranja vojnog poziva u bližoj budućnosti.In the first part of this paper we will explain the meaning of the terms brand and branding, as
well as analyze the importance of high quality visual impression in communication and
presentation. The current situation in the United States regarding the enlistment of young people
in the military will be reviewed below, and an analysis of the strategies and marketing
techniques used by the United States in branding a military vocation will be presented. After
studying the advantages of the American model, the focus of work will shift to the Armed Forces
of the Republic of Croatia (OSRH). Terms such as the identity and image of the OSRH or the
visual identity of the OSRH will be further explored. The opinions of young people about the
army and their interest in serving will be considered. In this paper, we will look at the current
methods of branding, promotion and ways of positioning in relation to the target audience and
analyze which of the useful American strategies can be adapted to the Croatian system. The
purpose of this paper is to contribute to the overall development of the brand, both by evaluating
the current situation and by creating specific operational strategies that the Armed Forces of the
Republic of Croatia will be able to use when branding a military vocation in the near future
Hypersonic Spacecraft and Missiles - Technology, History and Doctrine
U beskrajnoj „Utrci u naoružanju“ svjetskih vojnih velesila za oružjem koje će imati sposobnost
poraziti neprijatelja, pojavile su se hipersonične letjelice i projektili, zajedničkog naziva
„hipersonično oružje“. To su vođene rakete koje putuju kroz atmosferu preko pet puta većim
brzinama od brzine zvuka, imaju izrazito visok stupanj manevriranja, a namijenjene su
preciznom pogađanju određene mete, ekstremnom snagom, s bilo koje točke na planeti u
nekoliko minuta. Zbog takvih impozantnih karakteristika kao što su velika brzina, visoka
preciznost i visok stupanj upravljivosti, trenutno ne postoji operativni obrambeni sustav koji bi
mogao zaustaviti ovo strateško oružje. Naime, za razliku od balističkih projektila, hipersonično
oružje ne prati balističku putanju što uvelike smanjuje vjerojatnost pravovremene detekcije.
Mnoge svjetske sile uključujući SAD, Rusiju, i Kinu rade na njihovom razvoju, a evidentno je da
je Rusija na tom putu napravila najveći odmak, a samim tim trenutno je jedina zemlja na svijetu
sa operativnim hipersoničnim naoružanjem.In the endless "Arms Race" of the world's military superpowers for weapons that will have the
ability to defeat the enemy, hypersonic vehicle and missiles, commonly called "hypersonic
weapons", have appeared. These are guided missiles that travel through the atmosphere at speeds
five times faster than the speed of sound, have an extremely high degree of maneuverability, and
are designed to accurately hit a specific target, with extreme power, from anywhere on the planet
in minutes. Due to such impressive features as high speed, high precision and high degree of
maneuverability, there is currently no operational defense system that could stop this strategic
weapon. Namely, unlike ballistic missiles, hypersonic weapons do not follow the ballistic
trajectory which greatly reduces the likelihood of timely detection. Many world powers,
including the United States, Russia, and China, are working on their development, and it is
evident that Russia has made the greatest progress on that path, and is currently the only country
in the world with operational hypersonic weapons
Contemporary Ethical Challenges of the Military Service
U ovom radu su prikazani etički izazovi s kojima se vojne osobe moraju suočavati u današnjim
sukobima koji podrazumijevaju sudjelovanje vojske. Naglasak je stavljen na vojne vođe jer oni
su ti koji će donositi odluke u situacijama gdje će glavni problemi biti neizvjesnost i nedostatak
ključnih informacija. Takve odluke mogu imati utjecaj na sudbine mnogobrojnih ljudi.
Analiziraju se neki primjeri etičkih izazova s kojima su se vojne vođe suočavale u povijesti.
Nadalje, u radu su prikazani suvremeni problemi po pitanju donošenja odluka u sukobima i neki
novi etički izazovi koji se stavljaju pred vojne vođe. Naposlijetku se daje uvid što po tom pitanju
čini Hrvatska vojska, posebno u sustavu samog vojnog obrazovanja, budući da su počeci
preobrazbe civila u vojnika ključni u tom kontekstu.This study gives an overview of the ethical challenges which military leaders must face in
contemporary conflicts. Focus is given on military leaders for they are the ones who will make
all the important decisions in ambiguous and unclear situations. These decisions will have an
impact on countless destines. Some examples of the ethical challenges faced by military leaders
throughout history are analyzed. Furthermore, the study presents contemporary problems in
decision-making present in conflicts as well as some new ethical challenges facing military
leaders. Finally, an insight is given into what the Croatian Army is doing regarding this issue,
especially in the system of military education itself, since the very beginnings of the
transformation of civilians into soldiers are crucial
Digital Transformation as a New Paradigm of Organizational Resource Management
Razvoj gospodarstva i industrije rezultirao je stvaranjem velikih, složenih organizacijskih
sustava. Takvi sustavi se susreću s mnogim problemima te je potrebno uskladiti potrebe
fleksibilnosti funkcioniranja suvremenog menadžmenta s tradicionalnom povezanosti sustava.
Jedna od važnih stavki upravljanja organizacijom je upravljanje resursima. Resursi su strateški
imetak organizacije koji podrazumijeva sirovine, materijal, opremu za proizvodnju, novac te
ljudski potencijal. Veliku promjenu u upravljanju resursima donijela je digitalna transformacija.
Prva pomisao kod pojma digitalna transformacija je korištenje tehnologije u poslovanju i
funkcioniranju organizacije. Ipak, digitalna transformacija je više od toga te podrazumijeva
organizacijske, procesne i kulturološke aspekte koji omogućavaju organizaciji promjenu
postojeće logike poslovanja i maksimiziranje vrijednosti u obliku profita.The development of the economy and industry has resulted in the creation of large, complex
organizational systems. Such systems face many problems and it is necessary to reconcile the
needs of flexibility in the functioning of modern management with the traditional connectivity of
the system. One of the important items of managing an organization is resource management.
Resources are the strategic assets of an organization that include raw materials, materials,
production equipment, money and human potential. A major change in resource management has
been brought about by the digital transformation. The first thought in the term digital
transformation is the use of technology in the business and functioning of the organization.
However, digital transformation is more than that and involves organizational, process and
cultural aspects that allow the organization to change the existing business logic and maximize
value in the form of profit
The Maintenance Program for M-84A4 Tank
U ovom radu obrađen je postojeći program održavanja tenk M-84A4, uz pomoć dostupne
literature i iskustva rada posade tenka, kao i majstora iz tehničkih radionica za održavanje tenka.
U uvodnom dijelu je kratko opisan tenk M-84A4 te se nastavlja na prikaz korisničkog
održavanja, a zatim na održavanje u tehničkoj radionici, sve do razine generalne revizije u
remontnim radionicama, odnosno u kapacitetima proizvođača. Cilj ovog rada je bio uvidjeti
postojeću razinu spremnosti održavanja tenka M-84A4 i uočiti eventualne mogućnosti kako bi se
postojeći proces održavanja mogao poboljšati. Pristup na kojem je takav uvid i moguće mišljenje
zasnovano, jeste detaljno analiziranje literature za održavanje tenka M-84 te usporedba sa
stvarnim stanjem. Da bi se dobila slika stvarnog stanja spremnosti održavanja, bio je potreban
posjet postrojbenim tehničkim radionicama i pogonima proizvođača, firmi „Đuro Đaković-Specijalna vozila“.In this work, the existing maintenance program of the tank M-84A4 was processed, with the help
of available literature and experience of the tank crew, as well as masters from technical
workshops for tank maintenance. In the introductory part, the M-84A4 tank is briefly described,
and it continues with a presentation of user maintenance, and then maintenance in the technical
workshop, up to the level of general revision in overhaul workshops, that is, in the capacities of
the manufacturer. This work aimed to see the existing level of readiness for the maintenance of
the M-84A4 tank and to identify possible opportunities to improve the existing maintenance
process. The approach on which such insight and possible opinion are based is a detailed
analysis of the literature for the maintenance of the M-84 tank, and a comparison with the actual
situation. To get a picture of the actual state of readiness for maintenance, it was necessary to
visit the technical workshops and facilities of the manufacturer, the company "Đuro Đaković-Specijalna vozila"
Influence of Atmospheric Disturbances on the Projectile Trajectory Deviation
Ovaj rad proučava kako pojedini parametri atmosfere utječu na rasipanje padnih točaka, odnosno
kolika su odstupanja po pravcu i daljini putanje. U prvom dijelu opisana je raketa koju smo
koristili prilikom simulacije te atmosfera zajedno s pojedinim slojevima. Srednji dio rada je
rezerviran za opis parametara atmosfere te njihovih učinaka na putanju projektila. Vjetar je
detaljnije opisan u posebnom poglavlju, jer ima najveći utjecaj na odstupanja po pravcu i daljini.
U zadnjem dijelu je objašnjena Monte Carlo simulacija te je napravljena analiza padnih točaka iz
grafa kojeg smo dobili u programu MATLAB.This paper studies how certain parameters of the atmosphere affect the scattering of falling
points, that is, the deviations in the direction and distance of the trajectory. In the first part there
is a description of the rocket used during the simulation, and the atmosphere together with the
individual layers. The middle part is reserved for describing the certain parameters of the
atmosphere and the effects they leave on the projectile trajectory. The wind is described with
more details of its effects in a separate chapter because it has the greatest impact on deviations in
the direction and distance. In the last part, the Monte Carlo simulation is explained and an
analysis of the falling points is made from the graph obtained in the MATLAB program
Digitalization of Determining the Local Angle of the Shelter Ridge
Krajnji cilj ovog završnog rada je opisati i izraditi program koji korištenjem digitaliziranih
grafičkih tablica gađanja računa minimalnu elevaciju cijevi za uneseni greben zaklona za puno
punjenje.
U uvodnom dijelu rada objašnjeni su osnovni pojmovi potrebni za razumijevanje rada te utjecaj
topografije na odabir paljbenog položaja.
U glavnom dijelu rada opisan je postupak digitalizacije grafičke tablice gađanja za puno punjenje
koja je izrađena u programu Microsoft Excel. Zatim je opisan postupak izrade programa te način
funkcioniranja programa koji određuje minimalnu elevaciju cijevi za zadani greben zaklona za
puno punjenje. Za kraj, objašnjen je grafički prikaz grebena zaklona u grafičkim tablicama
gađanja za puno punjenje.The aim of this thesis is to describe and create a program that will, by using a digitized trajectory
chart, calculate the minimum quadrant elevation for the given military crest for a full charge. The
introductory part of the thesis explains the basic concepts necessary for understanding the
program and the influence of topography on the selection of firing positions. The main part of
the thesis describes the process of digitizing the trajectory chart for the full charge that was
created in Microsoft Excel. In the next chapter, the process of creating the program and how the
program, which determines the minimum quadrant elevation for the given military crest for a full
charge, is described. Finally, the graphical representation of the military crest in the trajectory
charts for a full charge is explained
Comparison of Sheave Correction and Calculation of Separate Firing Elements for each Weapon
U ovom diplomskom radu obrađena je tema usporedba primjene snopara i izračuna
elemenata za gađanje za svako oružje zasebno. Kroz rad se opisuje standardni rad
računateljske desetine prilikom početne pripreme elemenata za gađanje te primjena obrazaca
i jednadžbi za olakšani rad. Također, opisan je snopar M57, koji je temeljni instrument
zapovjednika paljbenog voda i trenutno esencijalan prilikom provođenja grupnog gađanja u
topništvu.
Nadalje, objašnjen je rad programa za početnu pripremu elemenata za gađanje haubice 122
mm D30J i u detalj je opisan proces izrade samog programa. Naznačeni su osnovni dijelovi
koda navedenog programa te kako funkcionira programski jezik VBA u kojem je sve i
izrađeno.
Provedena je usporedba rada snopara i izrađenog programa te su uspoređeni njihov rad pri
razmacima 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 i 180 metara pod pretpostavkom da su oružja međusobno u
razmaknuta okomito na azimut gađanja te su rezultati obrazloženi u posljednjem poglavlju
diplomskog rada.In this diploma thesis, the topic is the comparison of the application of the beam and
the calculation of the elements for shooting for each weapon separately. The paper describes
the standard work of the calculating department during the initial preparation of elements for
shooting and the application of patterns and equations for easy work. Also described is the
M57 beam, which is the basic instrument of a fire platoon commander and is currently
essential when conducting group artillery shooting.
Furthermore, the work of the program for the initial preparation of elements for shooting 122
mm D30J howitzer is explained and the process of making the program itself is described in
detail. The basic parts of the code of the mentioned program and how the VBA programming
language works, in which everything was created, are indicated.
A comparison of the work of the beam and the developed program was performed and their
work was compared at intervals of 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 meters, assuming that the
weapons are spaced apart perpendicular to the azimuth of shooting and the results are
explained in the last chapter
The Impact of Drones on the Use of Artillery on the Example of the Second War in Nagorno-Karabakh
U ovome radu cilj je bio istaknuti utjecaj sve prisutnijih bespilotnih letjelica na modernom
bojištu na primjeru Drugog rata u Gorskom Karabahu te kako primjena takvih oružja utječe na
primjenu topničkih i PZO postrojbi te koje lekcije možemo naučiti iz onoga što se dogodilo. Rad
ukratko prikazuje širu sliku dugogodišnjeg sukoba Azerbajdžana i Armenije oko područja
Gorskog Karabaha kao i uzrok novog rata koji se dogodio u jesen 2020. godine. Nadalje,
posebno su istaknuta oružja i sustavi koji su bili ključni u ovome ratu i koji su utjecali na
konačni ishod samih borbenih djelovanja. U ovome ratu posebno se istaknula primjena
bespilotnih letjelica te je njihova primjena od strane Azerbajdžana objašnjena kroz zadaće
izviđanja i nadzora te napadnih djelovanja. Na kraju rada iznijete su naučene lekcije prepoznate
iz ovoga sukoba, a posebno su naglašene lekcije za Oružane snage Republike Hrvatske te
prijedlozi njihova daljnjeg razvoja.In this thesis, the aim was to highlight the impact of more often use of drones on the modern
battlefield in the example of the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War and how the use of such
weapons affects the use of artillery and air defense units, and what lessons we can learn from
what happened. The paper briefly presents a broader picture of the long-standing conflict
between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region and points up the cause of
the new war that took place in the autumn of 2020. Furthermore, special emphasis was placed on
the weapons and systems that were crucial in this war and that influenced the outcome of the
combat operations themselves. In this war, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles was emphasized,
and their use by Azerbaijan was explained through the tasks of reconnaissance and surveillance,
and offensive operations. At the very end of the paper, the lessons learned from this conflict are
presented, while the lessons for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia and suggestions for
their further development are especially accentuated
Potential and Application of Global Navigation Satellite Systems in Artillery and Armed Forces
Globalni navigacijski satelitski sustavi olakšavaju svakodnevnicu stanovništvu cijelog Svijeta.
Svojim uslugama pozicioniranja u vremenu i prostoru, u bilo koje doba dana i noći potrebni su u
gotovo svim granama znanosti i gospodarstva. O GNSS-u ovisne su i svjetske vojske. Iz potrebe
za neovisnošću o američkom GPS sustavu, razvijeni su ruski GLONASS, GALILEO od strane
Europske Unije, kineski BeiDou, indijski IRNSS i japanski QZSS. Republika Hrvatska također
ima svoj doprinos u poboljšanju mreža navigacijskih sustava, razvojem i implementacijom
CROPOS-a, koji sam po sebi nije globalni navigacijski satelitski sustav, nego je mreža
permanentnih zemaljskih GNSS stanica koje registriraju sve navedene GNSS-ove te pružaju
korisnicima unutar Republike Hrvatske mogućnost pozicioniranja i navigacije. Sačinjen je od 33
GNSS stanice u Hrvatskoj s dodatnih 17 stanica razmjene sa susjednim zemljama. Iako se
većinom koristi u geodeziji, svoju potencijalnu primjenu može imati i u oružanim snagama.
Mjerenjima je ispitana primjena CROPOS-a u oružanim snagama na način da je korištena usluga
pozicioniranja u realnom vremenu VPPS, koja ima deklariranu položajnu točnost 2-4 cm, što je i
više nego dovoljno za potrebe OSRH s obzirom na ubojiti radijus bojne glave svog topničkog
naoružanja Hrvatske Vojske.Global navigation satellite systems simplify the everyday life of people around the globe. They
became a mustin almost all branches of science and economy with their services of positioning
individuals in time and space, which they provide consistently. World militaries are also
dependent on GNSS services. This dependence on GNSS and mistrust towards other countries,
caused individual states to develop their own variants. USA has GPS, Russia has GLONASS, the
European Union has GALILEO, China has BeiDou, India has IRNSS and Japan has QZSS. The
Republic of Croatia contributes as well to the improvement of GNSS networks by developing
and implementing the system CROPOS which is not a global navigation satellite system itself. It
is a network of permanent terrestrial GNSS stations that register all GNSS and it allows its users
within the Republic of Croatia to have access to the service of positioning and navigation. which
improves GPSs precision. It is made up of 33 GNSS stations in Croatia and another 17 in
neighboring countries. It sees use mostly in geodesy, it has the potential to be implemented in the
Croatian military as well. Conducted measurements have a goal to test the usefulness of
CROPOS within the military by using the service of real-time positioning VPPS. It has a
declared positioning accuracy of 2-4 cm, which is more than enough for the requirements of the
Croatian armed forces because the kill radius of all warheads within the Croatian armed forces is
drastically larger
