Optimization of the composition of cast iron for cast parts operating under abrasive friction, according to the criterion of maximum wear resistance
The object of research: Titanium-alloyed hypoeutectic iron for mixer blades operating under abrasive friction conditions.
Investigated problem: selection of the optimal titanium content in the alloy according to the criterion of the maximum wear resistance coefficient.
The main scientific results: the content of titanium in cast iron was determined, which provides the maximum wear resistance coefficient with various compositions of the base alloy. It has been established that with the same titanium content, the highest value of the wear resistance coefficient depends on the carbon content and the position of the eutectic point on the Fe-C state diagram. In the studied range, the highest values of the wear resistance coefficient correspond to the average range of variation of these factors. This allows to say that the effect of carbon content and the position of the eutectic point doubly affect wear resistance at the same titanium content, and there is a range of titanium content in which the effect of these factors on the wear resistance value becomes the same.
The area of practical use of the results of the study: the results obtained can be used by designers of industrial enterprises choosing materials for the manufacture of machine parts subject to intense friction due to operating conditions. The wear caused by this friction leads to the failure of the blades, so the designer's task is to choose the one that maximizes the durability of the blades.
Innovative technological product: wear-resistant hypoeutectic cast iron alloyed with titanium for cast parts operating in conditions of intense abrasive friction
The scope of the technological innovative product: mixing plants of various types, mainly used in road construction, construction and agriculture

Unequal, undiversified and underrepresented: women on the backburner in local decision making in South Africa’s local government
The object of research: Firstly, the study highlights that women are still underrepresented in local government at the district level in leadership positions remaining on the backburner as decision makers. Secondly, the study examines the notion of patriarchy and male dominance that results in the marginalization and exclusion of women in municipal decision making. The study contributes to the current body of knowledge through identifying the challenges that prevent the equal representation of women as decision makers in local government.
Investigated problem: South Africa has been consistently praised for its advcancement in drafting a progressive constitution and legislation that provides for gender equality. Despite the progressive achievements, women remain underrepresented at the municipal level, as South Africa has not attained the target of 50/50 equal representation as far as women mayors, women are more likely to be underemployed in comparison to men; women do not receive the same and/or fair remuneration in comparison to their male counterpart and women are not able to progress as fast as men in their careers once in local government structures , into leadership role that grant women equal access to become decision makers alike their male counterpart. The reasons for the low proportion of women to men in leadership is attributed to intersecting oppressions that women remain confronted with and can be seen to be connected to historical patriarchal norms and institutional values, which excludes and marginalizes women and institutional culture is stronger than the process of changing this culture.
The main scientific results: The findings of the study suggest that women are lagging behind in decision making. Secondly, organizational structures that are attributed to the presence of dominant behaviours in the workplace can be seen to be linked to patriarchy and male dominance exclude and marginalize women. Thirdly, women’s representation within South Africa at the municipal ward and PR levels is on a downward spiral, when comparing the 2021 electoral results to previous electoral results in 2016. Notably, there is a lack of practicality of women's status in local government, policy enacted such as the Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Bill contains the key element that failure to comply with the Constitution justifies punitive action against the defaulting unit. This includes local councils and executive officers. Clause 11 requires 50 percent representation of women. Highlighting instances of failure to comply, with no punitive actions taken. South African women are passive recipients of male-dominated decision making in local government.
The area of practical use of the research results: South African public and private sector institutions. Any persons connected to gender justice within societ
Suggestopedia: an effective way to teach and learn a foreign language
The most prominent feature distinguishing humans from animals is their ability to communicate in many ways. People recognize and introduce themselves through language. The individual thinks, speaks, and writes in the language of the society in which s/he lives. When an individual enters a different community, the need to learn a foreign language arises because s/he would have to speak the language of that society to communicate. Language learners and teachers should benefit more from the suggestopedia method. This study is a review article that presents brief theoretical, qualitative information on the suggestopedia method in language learning. This method helps learners improve their feelings, distract them from language learning fears, and reduce learning barriers to getting rid of the fear of making mistakes. Learners of a foreign language will discover their learning potential and keep their information in mind for the longest time by this method.
The object of research: Although there are many ways or methods of learning and teaching a foreign language, suggestopedia technique is still a popular way for teachers and learners in teaching and learning a foreign language. Therefore, it is high time to introduce suggestopedia method to the interested readers. Study of the stress-strain state of the brake lever transmission of the 18-100 carriage model
The object of research is the brake lever transmission of the 18-100 freight car carriage.
The investigated problem: the destruction of the elements of the triangle, which leads to the occurrence of failures during the car operation. As a result of such refusals, total losses for the railway infrastructure of Ukraine during freight transportation amount to hundreds of thousands of hryvnias.
The main scientific results: the strength of the brake lever transmission of the freight car carriage is investigated and the most loaded components of its structure are identified. It is proposed to improve the triangle string by making it from a round pipe filled with energy-absorbing material. Aluminum foam is used as an energy-absorbing material.
To justify the proposed solution, a calculation of the strength of the brake lever transmission is performed using the finite element method. The calculation results show that the maximum equivalent stresses that occur in the string do not exceed the allowable ones.
The peculiarity of the obtained results is that the proposed improvement of triangle elements can be applied not only at the stage of designing the mechanical brake system, that is, during the manufacture of car assemblies at car-building plants. It is advisable to apply the proposed solutions when carrying out depot or capital type repairs at car repair enterprises.
The field of practical use of the results is car-building and car-repair enterprises of railway transport of Ukraine.

Experimental study of a pilot unit of a ground regenerator for greenhouses
The object of research: the process of heat exchange in a packing in the form of a dense layer of crushed stone as part of a thermal regenerator designed to utilize the low-grade heat of the air in a greenhouse.
Investigated problem: increasing the efficiency of air heat accumulation in the greenhouse during the daytime by a regenerative heat exchanger with a granular packing. Conducting experimental tests of regenerator models with a packing in the form of a dense layer of granular material under natural conditions is necessary to improve the design and optimize technological parameters.
The main scientific results: the analysis of temperature curves of air changes at the inlet and outlet of the regenerator installed in the mock-up greenhouse with a volume of 0.25 m3, and the packing material was carried out. During the heating period of the nozzle, the accumulated heat was Q=8•104 J, which can be used when the temperature in the greenhouse decreases. During the pause, the loss from the heat exchange channel to the environment is 48,000 J. The duration of the period was 358 min, while the average heat flux corresponded to 2.2 W. Heat losses during the pause period are significant due to its duration, however, the average heat transfer coefficient has a low value of k=2.3 W/m2K, so strengthening the insulation of the heat exchange channel is irrational.
The area of practical use of the results of the study: greenhouses, allowing the possibility of installing additional heat exchange equipment.
Innovative technological product: the innovativeness of the technical solution is determined by the possibility of using the heat of the air in the greenhouse and the implementation of contact heat exchange between the air flow and the packing particles. The design of the regenerator, the simplicity of its manufacture and operation, as well as the efficiency of air heat accumulation in the greenhouse during the daytime, allow to recommend it for use in greenhouse farms.
The scope of the innovative technological product: regenerative heat exchangers with a dense layer of granular material for the utilization of low-grade air flows generated in food production enterprises, ventilation systems and greenhouse
