Did the COVID-19 pandemic change the importance of health for life satisfaction? Evidence from France

    No full text
International audienceCOVID-19 has brought health protection to the top of the political agenda in many countries, at the cost of reduced freedoms, social relationships, and economic opportunities. This context may have led individuals to pay more attention to their health and to attach greater importance to it in life satisfaction. This paper examines the possibility of an increase in the correlation between life and health satisfaction after the onset of the pandemic using repeated cross-sectional data in France between 2016 and 2021 and an original jittering strategy to smooth the ordinal variables of life and health satisfaction in regression models of subjective well-being. The estimates show an increased correlation between health and life satisfaction for women aged 50 and over, but no change for men. However, the increase in correlation observed for older women disappears by the second half of 2021. These results are robust to several sensitivity analyses and lead to the conclusion that the COVID-19 pandemic did not significantly and permanently change the importance of personal health for life satisfaction

Une nouveauté permanente ? Médias et actualité des spectacles à la fin du XVIIIe siècle

    No full text

A Comparison Study of Substrates Quality for GaN Vertical Devices

    No full text
International audienceIn this work, a comparison study of four different freestanding GaN substrates is performed by Deep-Level Transient Spectroscopy (DLTS) on Schottky diodes. Three defects are clearly identified, E1 (ET = 0.08-0.14 eV), E2(ET = 0.55-0.60 eV) and E3 (ET = 0.86-0.91 eV). Comparing the concentration for the different substrates reveals the absence of E3 trap and a lower concentration of E2 trap for the epilayer on the substrate grown within GaN4AP consortium by the ammonothermal technique

Les parents au cœur des interventions dans le TSA en France : focus sur la thérapie d’échange et de développement

    No full text
International audienceConcepts of care for children with ASD have evolved significantly over the past two decades. These evolu-tions have been possible thanks not only to an earlier identification of the developmental particularitiesof children, but also by the development of earlier intervention programs and a better consideration offamily needs. This present work aims to present the evolution of these care practices for children withASD and their families in France, illustrating it with the example of exchange and development therapyand EDT through parent involvement.

Concentration inequalities and large deviations for continuous greedy animals and paths

    No full text
Consider the continuous greedy paths model: given a dd-dimensional Poisson point process with positive marks interpreted as masses, let P()\mathrm P(\ell) denote the maximum mass gathered by a path of length \ell starting from the origin. It is known that P()/\mathrm P(\ell)/\ell converges a.s.\ to a deterministic constant P\mathrm P. We show that the lower-tail deviation probability for P()\mathrm P(\ell) has order exp(2)\mathrm{exp}(-\ell^2) and, under exponential moment assumption on the mass distribution, that the upper-tail deviation probability has order exp()\mathrm{exp}(-\ell). In the latter regime, we prove the existence and some properties -notably, convexity -of the corresponding rate function. An immediate corollary is the large deviation principle at speed \ell for P()\mathrm P(\ell). Along the proof we show an upper-tail concentration inequality in the case where marks are bounded. All of the above also holds for greedy animals and have versions where the paths or animals involved have two anchors instead of one

Induction triplet chemotherapy in patients with rectal adenocarcinoma and synchronous metastases, an AGEO-FFCD study

    No full text
International audienceAim of the study: The management of synchronous metastatic rectal cancer (SMRC) is complex and multimodal, involving chemotherapy, surgery and/or radiotherapy. The aim of this study was firstly to confirm the efficacy of the induction FOLFIRINOX, and secondly to evaluate the different therapeutic strategies and outcomes of patients.Patients and methods: This French study combined data from a prospective FFCD trial and a multicenter cohort. Patients included had SMRC and had undergone induction triplet chemotherapy. Two groups of patients were defined according to the resectability of metastases at baseline: resectable (Res) and unresectable (URes). The primary endpoint was the objective response rate. Results: 146 patients were included in 16 French centers and 65 patients in the FFCD1102 trial. In overall population the median age of patients was 59 years, 86% of tumors were of the lower or middle rectum, 33% were well-differentiated, 53% were RAS mutated and 7% BRAF mutated. Triplet induction was associated with 80% of objective response and 92% of disease control. After the induction phase, 69% and 48% of patients of Res and URes groups underwent rectal surgery, and secondary metastases resection was done in 79% and 39% of patients, respectively. Median overall survival (OS) for Res was 56.3 months (95% CI: 22.54-NA). Median OS for URes who had or not secondary metastases resection were 45.1 months (95% CI: 39.89-NA) and 21.1 months (95% CI 17.31-27.1), respectively. Patients with BRAF mutated tumors were more likely to have unresectable disease, and had worse survivals than the patients with RAS mutated or RAS/BRAF wild-type.Conclusion: Triplet induction chemotherapy is a treatment of choice in selected patients with SMRC, allowing to adapt the therapeutic strategy to the response and invasiveness of the various sites
