Get PDFThis research aims to develop learning tools of mathematics junior high school with a contextual approach as a tool for learning mathematics. The subjects are 34 students in the eighth grade of junior high school. The research method used is development research by referring to ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments are validation sheets of student worksheet, questionnaires, and test results. Results of this research are: (1) the validation result of student worksheet is in very good category; (2) the result of a questionnaire of student response is in very good category; and (3) the result of the student's learning test is in a good category. So that, student worksheet is feasible from the aspect of validity, practicality, and effectiveness

Get PDFThis study aims to determine the difference of the mathematical communication skills improvement of students who obtained mathematical learning by problem-solving of scientific approach and Number Head Together (NHT) of cooperative learning and the students who obtained mathematical learning through the use of problem-solving approach only. This research is a quasi-experimental study with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was 274 students of 8th-grade who were distributed to seven classes. The samples taken were two classes, each of which consisted of 41 students for the experimental class and 42 students for the control class. The data were analyzed to compare students' mathematical communication skills using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics t-test. The result of this research showed that the mathematical communication skills improvement through the application of problem-solving of scientific approach and NHT of cooperative learning was higher than the mathematical communication skills of students who used a problem-solving approach only

This paper uses a theoretical way of thinking approach that is systematically packaged because independent learning is a new learning approach model but some people consider it long. This study using PMRI, the Indonesian version of realistic mathematics education. Subjects of this study are 36 seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 24 Palembang. This study using a design research approach with conducted in three stages: preliminary design, the design experiment (pilot experiment & teaching experiment), and retrospective analysis. Data were collected by observations, interviewing the student, collecting student worksheet, and documentation of classroom event and group works. Get PDFThis research aims to determine the effect of using an android application compared to conventional teaching materials on Trigonometry courses on the mathematical communication skills of student candidates regarding personality type. The research method was used quasi-experiment with the population of first grade at Department of Mathematics Education of STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng and the sample was taken from 2 classes. Data were through by questionnaires and mathematical communication test which were then analyzed by two-way ANOVA test. Data analysis and interpretation showed that: (1) students who were taught using the help of Android-based teaching materials had better mathematical communication skills than students taught conventionally; (2) there was an interaction between learning media and personality type on mathematical communication skills. The findings point to recommendations that the use of appropriate instructional media could be used to improve students' mathematical communication skills and would facilitate the learning process of mathematics

Get PDFTeacher creativity and innovation are extremely needed in teaching Arabic material which is difficult for millennial learners to be understood, especially the competence in reading classical Arabic texts and tending to be stuck up in the understanding of qawaid. Therefore, this study aims to determine the process of using the PQ4R method and measure its level of effectiveness in improving students' reading skills in Arabic subject of class XI MAN 1 Kota Kediri. The method applied in this research is quantitative approach with experimental research model. The researcher used documentation, tests, and interview to collect the data in MAN 1 Kota Kediri in class XI. The data analysis used t-test with paired sample t-test. The result shows that PQ4R method is effective in improving reading skills, with the calculation result of pre-test score in the experimental class 66.08 and the control class 65.08 with a difference of 1.00. The results of post-test of experimental class 86.52 and 63.04 control class with a difference of 23.48, so the experimental class using the PQ4R method is higher than the control class. The data analysis used is t-test with the calculation of sig (2-tiled), with the result of sig (2-tiled) = 0.00, because the result of sig (2-tiled) 0.00> 0.05. So it can be concluded that the PQ4R method provides an easier way to comprehend Arabic reading texts.

Model Pembelajaran Ilmu Sharaf dengan Menggunakan Metode Inquiry dan Metode Snowball Tashrif: di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang
Get PDFThe aim of this study is to apply Sharaf learning to students after using the Inquiry model with Tashrif Snowball method. The study was conducted at Department of Arabic Education in UIN Malang. This study used quantitative and qualitative methods with the Classroom Action Research / PTK approach. The data collection process used the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument used the observation sheet of accomplishment. The results of this study the feasibility of seeing from the processes in cycles 1 and 2 and the results are; 45.5% to 81.8% understand the material, then from 36.4% to 13.6% do not understand the material yet and 18.1% to 4.6% do not understand the material. In conclusion, the implication of the Inquiry method is students' results have improved and have become accustomed to thinking critically about the sub- material of sharaf learning. In addition. It can be concluded that the inquiry learning model with the Snowball Tashrif method is good to be applied in Sharaf learning
