Screening for Liver Fibrosis in the General Population: Where Do We Stand in 2022?
No full textInternational audienceApproximately 30% of the worldwide population has at least one risk factor for liver disease. Identifying advanced liver disease before the occurrence of complications remains a difficult challenge in clinical practice, where diagnosis comes too late for many patients, at the time of liver decompensation or palliative hepatocellular carcinoma, with poor short-term prognosis. Noninvasive, blood- or elastography-based tests of liver fibrosis (NITs) have been developed for the early diagnosis of advanced liver fibrosis. Recent population-based studies evaluating the screening of liver fibrosis with these NITs have provided important information on at-risk groups that should be targeted. New measures based on the sequential use of NITs help to better organize the referral of at-risk patients to the liver specialist. However, energizing these measures will require increased awareness of both chronic liver diseases and the use of NITs among non-specialists

No full textThis article has set itself the objective of evaluating the effectiveness of the various measures implemented by the Congolese authorities to combat the negative effects of the covid 19 health crisis on the Congolese economy. To do so, the study analyzed the various measures implemented by the authorities and the objectives for which these measures were taken. It has been observed that the authorities have applied monetary and budgetary policies with the aim of stabilizing and reviving the Congolese economy which has fallen under the effects of the covid 19 pandemic. It is found after analysis that the various measures taken by the authorities have been effective because they have succeeded in stabilizing the exchange rate and inflation and in reviving the economy. This recovery was manifested by the increase in economic growth observed in 2021.Le présent article s'est fixé comme objectif d'évalue l'efficacité des différente mesures mises en œuvre par les autorités congolaises pour lutter contre les effets négatifs de la crise sanitaire à covid 19 sur l'économie congolaise. Pour y faire, l'étude a analysé les différentes mesures mises en œuvre par les autorités et les objectifs auxquels ces mesures ont été prises. Il a été observé que les autorités ont appliqué les politiques monétaires et budgétaires dans le but de stabiliser et de relancer l'économie congolaise sombrée sous les effets de la pandémie à covid 19. Il est constaté après analyse que les différentes mesures prises par les autorités ont été efficace car elles ont réussi à stabiliser le taux de change et inflation et à relancer l'économie. Cette relance s'est manifestée par l'augmentation de la croissance économique observée en 2021

No full textInternational audienceDie forensische Psychiatrie scheint derzeit besonders repräsentativ für die moralischen Dilemmas zu sein, die zwischen den ethischen Prinzipien entstehen können, die für unterschiedliche Berufe mit unterschiedlichen Zielen gelten. Damit verbunden, aber ebenso entscheidend, als ob die Figur des psychiatrischen Sachverständigen auch in diesem Punkt als Indikator fungieren würde, ist die Frage nach der Stellung des wissenschaftlichen Gutachtens und der Aussage des Sachverständigen vor Gericht, was von ihm erwartet wird, wie es von den verschiedenen Prozessparteien aufgenommen wird, wie es rhetorisch verwendet werden kann und, daraus abgeleitet, welche ethischen Herausforderungen sich daraus für das Recht und für die Medizin ergeben.Forensic psychiatry currently appears to be particularly representative of the moral dilemmas likely to arise between the ethical principles governing distinct professions, pursuing distinct ends. Related to this, and just as crucial, as if the figure of the psychiatric expert were to play the role of a revealing factor in this respect, is the question of the place of scientific expertise and the expert's word in the courts, what is expected of it, how it is received by the various parties in the proceedings, the rhetorical use that is likely to be made of it and, by derivation, the ethical issues at stake in this use, for law and for medicine.La psychiatrie légale apparaît actuellement tout particulièrement représentative des dilemmes moraux susceptibles de naître entre les principes éthiques régissant des professions distinctes, poursuivant des fins distinctes. A study of the wave effects on the current circulation in Galway Bay, using the numerical model COAWST
No full textInternational audienceA model coupling waves and currents is set up for Galway Bay, Ireland, using COAWST. The impact of the coupling on the accuracy of the model is shown to be marginal on the overall statistics. The model is in good agreement with the available in-situ observations that are used for the validation. However a closer look at the data during storms shows a deterioration of the agreement, which is barely improved by the coupling. A special analysis of the different processes ruling the ocean circulation is conducted during Storm Hector (2018/06/14). It shows a strong 7cm wave-induced surge in the back of Galway Bay, and a strong response in terms of currents along the coast of Clare, about 30cms−1. Most of the surge is attributed to the impact of the conservative wave-induced Stokes drift forcing. The response in currents is partly attributed to the Stokes drift forcing terms, but mostly to the wave-enhanced surface roughness. In both cases waves induce an additional transport of mass or momentum, which is then subject to the particular characteristics of the bay

No full textInternational audienceLa vida y la obra del celebérrimo pintor Pablo Ruiz Picasso están estrechamente vinculadas, como ha demostrado la crítica tras haber abordado su producción desde diferentes puntos de vista. El suicidio de su amigo Carles Casagemas fue el detonante del llamado “período azul”, primera gran etapa dentro del recorrido artístico del malagueño en la que se enfrenta el dibujante Tyto Alba en la novela gráfica La Vida, de 2016. En este estudio, analizaré de qué manera la novela gráfica permite arrojar luz, no solo sobre la historia de una amistad a través de una documentación nutrida acerca de Picasso y Casagemas, sino que, además, por medio de la intermedialidad, el cómic se convierte el vehículo de la pintura picassiana y testimonio gráfico de la bohemia finisecular francoespañola vivida por los dos artistas
