Evaluation of Sour Gas Field Development Strategy: A Feasibility Study in Indonesia using PSC Gross Split Mechanism

    Get PDF
PetroComp, a private oil and gas operator in Eastern Indonesia, has a limited room for gas production growth. A potential new long-term gas sales agreement (GSA) with PT. SMC, could double PetroComp’s gas production and address its long-term growth needs. Jala field is the potential undeveloped resource to fulfill the gas demand requirement, however it contains high CO2 concentration which presents substantial investments for its development. Three development scenarios of Jala field are evaluated in the study, including a potential integration of CCUS.This study aims to evaluate the economic feasibility of the three development scenarios of Jala sour gas field using a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method to determine the best development strategy for PetroComp and Government of Indonesia. Conventional onshore development approach provides the highest NPV at US113.8million,meanwhileCCUSandfulloffshoredevelopmentscenariosarenoteconomicduetoitshighinvestmentcost.Gasproductionvolumeandgaspricearethemostsensitiveparametersaffectingtheprojectsprofitabilitybasedonthesensitivityanalysis.UncertaintyanalysissuggestsapromisingthickpositiveNPVisexpectedfromtheprojectwiththeP90P50P10casesarerangingfromUS 113.8 million, meanwhile CCUS and full offshore development scenarios are not economic due to its high investment cost. Gas production volume and gas price are the most sensitive parameters affecting the project’s profitability based on the sensitivity analysis. Uncertainty analysis suggests a promising thick positive NPV is expected from the project with the P90-P50-P10 cases are ranging from US 50.8 – 173.9 million. Time-dependent evaluation concludes the impact on profitability start to de-escalate exponentially if the project is delayed for more than four years (>10% NPV impact) at the given PSC period until 2045. This study is intended to support evidence-based decision-making by PetroComp in developing the high-CO2 Jala gas field and advancing the company’s long-term growth strategy

Spatial Land Suitability for Paddy Cultivation: Empirical Analysis of Its Impact on Export Volume and Exchange Rates Behavior in Indonesia

    Get PDF
This study explores the linkages between geographical land suitability for rice cultivation and fluctuations in the Rupiah to US Dollar (IDR/USD) exchange rate in Indonesia's macroeconomic context. Combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, the study involved stakeholder interviews and regression analysis of national economic time series data from 1994 to 2024. Spatial analysis using the Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) approach was used to assess land suitability, considering legal restrictions on conversion of paddy fields and conservation forests. Results show that land suitability-based rice production has a statistically significant effect on exchange rate at the 10% level (p = 0.0883), with a positive coefficient of 0.0499, indicating that increased production is associated with Rupiah depreciation. In contrast, GRDP shows a significant negative effect on the exchange rate (p < 0.05), indicating its contribution to currency appreciation. Mediation analysis revealed that although rice production significantly increased export volume (p = 0.0053), the relationship between export and exchange rate did not prove significant (p = 0.3962). This suggests that increased production does not automatically strengthen the exchange rate without effective integration into the trading system. The qualitative interviews highlighted the importance of adaptive strategies by stakeholders in food security management. The findings emphasize the need for synchronization between agricultural expansion policies and macroeconomic strategies to sustainably achieve exchange rate stability and national food security

Brand Image as an Economic Asset: Mediating the Effects of Online Customer Reviews, Customer Experience, and Product Quality on Repurchase Intentions of Karung Jantan Clothing Brand

    Get PDF
This study investigates brand image as an economic asset by analyzing its mediating role in the relationship between online customer reviews, customer experience, and product quality on consumers’ repurchase intentions for the Karung Jantan clothing brand. Recognizing that a strong brand image can enhance customer loyalty, reduce marketing costs, and increase long-term revenue, this research adopts a quantitative approach and analyzes data using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with SmartPLS 4.0. The results reveal that brand image does not significantly mediate the effects of online customer reviews and customer experience on repurchase intention. However, brand image significantly mediates the relationship between product quality and repurchase intention, reinforcing its role as an intangible economic asset. Moreover, online customer reviews, customer experience, and product quality all have a positive and significant direct influence on both brand image and repurchase intention. These findings underscore the economic value of investing in brand image and product quality to drive repeat purchases and ensure sustainable business growth

This study aims to analyze the influence of Word of Mouth (WOM), Cafe Atmosphere, and Location on Purchasing Decisions in the Gang Skena Area of ??Kediri City. The phenomenon of increasing numbers of cafes and tight competition requires business actors to understand the factors that determine consumer purchasing decisions. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to cafe consumers in the Gang Skena area of ??Kediri City. Samples were taken using non-probability sampling techniques, with data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis processed through statistical software. The results of the study indicate that the variables Word of Mouth, Cafe Atmosphere, and Location partially have a positive and significant influence on Purchasing Decisions. Furthermore, simultaneously, the three independent variables (Word of Mouth, Cafe Atmosphere, and Location) together have a significant influence on Purchasing Decisions. The contribution of the influence of the three variables is 68.3%, while the remaining 31.7% is explained by other factors outside this research model. The conclusion of this study is that Word of Mouth, Cafe Atmosphere, and Location are important factors that significantly influence consumer purchasing decisions in cafes in the Gang Skena area of ??Kediri City, both individually and collectively

Factors Affecting Firm Value and the Economic Significance of Firm Size as a Moderator: A Study of the Industrial Sector on the IDX (2020–2023)

    Get PDF
This study investigates the influence of tax planning, profitability, liquidity, capital structure, and firm growth on firm value, with firm size as a moderating variable, in industrial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2020 to 2023. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, the study analyzes 75 firm-year observations from 15 purposively selected companies. Firm value is proxied by Price to Book Value (PBV), while other variables are measured using standard financial ratios. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and moderation analysis with the absolute difference value method. The findings indicate that profitability, capital structure, and firm growth significantly influence firm value, with profitability being the most dominant factor. Firm size strengthens the relationship between key financial indicators and firm value, highlighting the advantage of scale in attracting investor confidence. The study emphasizes the importance of strong financial fundamentals, especially in navigating external shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Recommendations are provided for companies, investors, regulators, and future researchers to optimize firm value in a dynamic market environment
