[CHAIN UP GROUP] Applied Technology Group Project
This document presents the draft of the introductory chapter as well as the research and planning aspects of developing a text hosting service application based on block chain technology named‘Chain UP. This report represents part I of the continuous assessment of the year-module named Applied Technology Group Project for the 3rd year of the Information Technology course at CCT College Dublin. In the next chapters, we will discuss how those concepts influenced our definition of the scope of the project and go into further detail on the proof of concept in Blockchain through developing a text hosting application. A description of the provisional architecture diagram is also included. The schedule of tasks for the project can be found in the section named ‘Schedule’ in appendix B. Each team member contributed a report assessing their work and impact of duties on the deliverables up to this point. These can be found under the section named Appendix A – Individual Contribution Report

Content Marketing and the creation of a brand with voice
This article argues that the future of content marketing is strongly linked to the development of new technologies and how new technological devices influence the way companies engage with consumers. This paper aims to investigate how the development of personal voice assistants opens a new direction for companies to create substantial individualized, informational and engaging content. Content marketing is defined as the development of relevant and consistent brand content to create value among customers. Companies are being influenced by new technologies to conduct distinct formulas of content creation to develop a more engaging and aligned customer and brand relationship. The analysis is structured and conducted on the basis of questions in order to investigate more profound how the market is adapting content marketing. The paper is formulated by a literature review, consisting in the exploration of sources that communicate modern and actual examples of content marketing. The conclusion interprets that content marketing is being continuously influenced and adapted based on the technological advance. The arise of command voice devices induce new methods and delivery of content creation. Brands are expanding the abilities to communicate with loyal customers and creating personalized interaction to attract potential customers. In addition, the customer experience is also influenced by how a brand will create a real voice to communicate through voice command assistants. The techniques of marketing are integrated into branding and data analysis in order to generate a more humanized brand with compelling content. The study also concludes that the enormous amount of data produced by virtual assistants is the main struggle for the modern industry. Content marketing becomes a more integrated platform that connects a brand to customers’ expectations. Therefore, content marketing assures that consumers are fully engaged with the brand and more than never is making use of smart technologies to enhance the face of brands

The Wall: A mobile app to identify and store social events from a digital image using computer vision
Social events, promoted in print media using posters, flyers and banners often fail to attract an audience because we frequently forget the details of the event when we pass-by the promotion on the street. Smaller venues or artists often rely on low-cost, street-level marketing campaigns in areas of high foot traffic areas to develop interest in an event. These venues or artist are often without a budget for online marketing or have a target demographic outside the typical Social Media consumer which makes attracting an audience difficult.
This project aimed to solve the problem of storing and reminding the user of upcoming events, advertised in print media, by developing a mobile app to automatically identify and event information from an image taken by the user. The project is an N-tier system comprising: a front-end using AngularJS, Ionic and Cordova; a cloud Firebase database to store the user\u27s registration and logon credentials; Google Vision API to automatically segment and identify event information and the Google Calendar API to store and remind the user of upcoming events. The project was managed using the Agile Development methodology Scrum. The challenge of this project was in developing a solution to automatically and reliably identify event information from print media which often contains a wide variety of layouts, orientations, font types, colours and contrast variations between the information and any graphics present. In addition, the solution needed to understand the semantics of the text relating to the event name and location. The development frameworks and APIs chosen were unfamiliar to the team but were used because of their technical suitability and their ongoing and increasing popularity in the industry.
Functional testing was based on a set of over 50 test images. Testing concluded that the solution retrieves date and time information consistently, however, more work is required to successfully segment and recognise event location and title. User Experience (UX) was measured in a cross-sectional survey of 75 participants. The results were positive and are discussed here
An analysis on the awareness of sustainability in the food consumption in Dublin
Millennials have been much more concerned with the origin of the food that they consume and its ultimate destination. It has been said that all over the world this new generation seeks for healthier options and also concerns about the use of plastic in packaging, waste reduction and compostable, reusable and recyclable materials. This is a research paper that aimed to investigate if the Dublin’s food buyers are following this global path while getting more conscious about their consumption, engaging with environmental agendas and behaving sustainably through their consumption. Through an applied structured online questionnaire, 290 participants’ results demonstrate that people are becoming more conscious about their consumption in relation to the environment and also that people that are normally interested about environmental agendas tend to engage more actively with sustainability through their consumption
