Gender Differences in Leadership: An Investigation into Female Leadership Styles and Affective Organisational Commitment
Get PDFAs many women enter the ranks of leadership, more research is conducted and needed. Through qualitative analyses based on bibliographic research, this study aims to explore the gender differences in leadership, providing an investigation into female leadership styles and affective organisational commitment. The review and analysis of existing literature demonstrated that the transformational leadership style is more typical of females than male leaders. The study’s findings also indicate that there are differences between female and male leaders’ styles and traits, reinforcing the existing leadership gender stereotype that female leaders are seen as more emotional, supportive, caring, and people-oriented. In contrast, male leaders are identified as more assertive, directive and task-oriented. Furthermore, it appears that there is a positive association between female leadership and affective commitment. However, during the literature analysis, a scarcity of studies dedicated to understanding this relationship was identified. Therefore, further research is required to confirm and better analyse the relationship between female leadership and affective organisational commitment

An investigation into disruptive innovation in the entertainment industry
Get PDFAs society moves towards digital developments, people demand more flexible forms of consumption. In the craving for new products and services, globalisation presents itself as a driving factor for economic and social changes, accelerating innovations arise. Thus, this paper aims to discuss the role of disruptive innovation as a democratic process to introduce new technologies to the world. The analysis of existent literature indicates that disruptive business models not only respond for significant changes in consumers behaviour but also induce competitors to reshape their strategy. In addition, an investigation into disruptive innovations in the entertainment industry, particularly in the subscription video-on-demand sector, identifies central ideas, patterns, and contexts related to disruption. Through a qualitative analysis based on bibliographic research and Netflix as a case study, the main findings of this research present the emerging of business models as a leading economic force, outlining their effects on businesses outside their core market and the new ways of consuming entertainment introduced by them. Consequently, further research proves to be needed to confirm and evaluate the relationship between disruptive entertainment business models and their consequences in society

Academic Integrity and Student Partnership at CCT College Dublin

The presentation describes a student partnership approach to the organisation of Academic Integrity Week at CCT in 2020 and 2021. The College has a strong focus on student partnership since its foundation in 2005.
The event promoted the National Academic Integrity Network\u27s Academic Integrity: National Principles and Lexicon of Common Terms and #MyOwnWork. The presentation also highlighted a sample of resources from CCT\u27s Learning Space on academic integrity which have been created using Creative Commons Licenses:
