AN ANALYSIS OF TEACHER’S STRATEGIES IN TEACHING SPEAKING AT SMP N 31 PADANG
Get PDFThis study aims to find the strategies used by teacher in teaching speaking at SMPN 31 Padang. Strategies in teaching speaking is a way that teacher provide to help students master their speaking skills, and to improve students' communicative competence in English. In this study, the researcher focused on analyzing the teacher strategy in teaching speaking English at SMP N 31 Padang. The research question are, what strategies are used by teachers and what strategy mostly used in teaching speaking. In conducting the research, the researcher used qualitative descriptive research. Researcher used observation and interview sheets to collect data. The subject of this research is an English teacher. The researcher used theory by Kayi, she describes thirteen strategies in teaching speaking, namely discussion, role play, simulation, information gap, brainstorming, storytelling, interviews, story completion, reporting, playing cards, pictorial narrative, drawing pictures, and finding differences. Based on the finding result the researcher found four strategies in teaching speaking. Those are; role play, brainstorming, story telling, and discussion. Meanwhile, the most widely used strategy by teacher in teaching speaking English is the role play strategy. The researcher concluded that by applying the formation role play strategy, students became more active and enthusiastic in learning to speak English with their seatmates
TEACHERS’ CONSTRAINTS IN USING THE WHATSAPP APPLICATION AS AN ONLINE LEARNING MEDIA IN TEACHING ENGLISH AT MTSN 2 PASAMAN DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Get PDFThe COVID-19 pandemic has affected several aspects of the teaching and learning process. MTsN 2 Pasaman is one of the schools that participates in online learning in English subjects. This study aims to describe the teachers’ constrains in using the WhatsApp application as online learning media in teaching English at MTsN 2 Pasaman. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, while the data collection techniques are carried out by interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with English teachers class VIII at MTsN 2 Pasaman. The teacher sends learning materials in the WhatsApp application by using the WhatsApp application features such as audio, photos, documents, and videos. The teacher's online learning activities also carry out introduction, observation, questioning, experimenting, associating, communicating and closing. the application that is mainly used for teaching and learning English online is WhatsApp, that the WhatsApp application is not effectively used for teaching and learning English online, teachers and students experience problems in online learning in learning English consisting of networks that are less supportive, lack of student understanding on the material, and the limited internet quota that students have. From the results of this study, it was concluded that teachers’ constraints in using the WhatsApp application as an online learning media in teaching English at MTsN 2 Pasaman during Covid-19 pandemic was not effective
THE IMPLEMENTATION ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF EFL AT GRADE XI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 SUNGAI GERINGGING
Get PDFOnline learning is a type of distance learning that uses technology and the internet as the teaching and learning media. The emergence of government regulations regarding learning from home as a means of breaking the chain of covid 19 has forced teachers and students to adapt to online learning. Its abrupt implementation will undoubtedly cause many problems and obstacles for both teachers and students. This research aims to explain the implementation and problems encountered in online teaching and learning of EFL at grade XI Senior High School 1 Sungai Geringging. The method used in this research is qualitative, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis consists of data condensing, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Meanwhile, use source triangulation techniques to test the data's validity. The results showed that the implementation of online teaching and learning of EFL at grade XI Senior High School 1 Sungai Geringging went well. The results showed that, despite several obstacles, the implementation of online learning for learning English in class XI Senior High School 1 Sungai Geringging went smoothly according to the lesson plan. Problems encountered by schools and students in online learning include
(1) geographical issues, (2) implementation issues, and (3) issues with the facilities used in online learning

This research focused on the teachers’ implementations of Online Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.The purposes were to describe the Teachers EFL Online Learning and to identify teachers perception of Implementation EFL Online Learning of During the COVID-19 Pandemic at SMPN 22 Padang. This study was conducted by using Qualitative Research Method namely through documentation, observation and interview. The researcher choose Two teachers of SMP N 22 Padang to collect the data. The researcher collected the data from the document, observation, and interview in SMP 22 Padang. The data were use analyzed. It is found that teachers at SMPN 22 Padang using Geschool and WhatsApp Group as a media to teaching Online Learning. The teachers using Online Learning strategies to teach the students during pandemic COVID-19. Through 3 stages: 1) Pre- Teaching, 2) While Teaching, 3) Post Teaching. However, more disadvantages than advantages while using Online Learning. It concluded, there are other factors that cause the weaknesses of reading EFL Online Learning in terms of policy, human resources, and the students motivations to learn. Several suggestion of this research were adddressed to the teachers improvisation for their Online Learning program, there are about policy of Online Learning, the media that can be use in Pandemic COVID-19
Tafsir dan New Media Studi Tentang Ayat Iman Menurut Hanan Attaki
Get PDFHanan Attaki's interpretation of the verses of faith on Youtube is phenomenal. He made Youtube his interpretive idea so that it could become evidence of the development of interpretive media from using old media to becoming new media. Hanan's interpretation is very different, he can invite the younger generation to increase their faith in God by using the language of today's children. This can trigger Hanan's many YouTube subscribers. Until now, Hanan's subscribers have reached 2.3 million with 88 million viewers. The purpose of this study is to examine the interpretation of the verses of faith which Hanan uses as the basis for preaching. In addition, this research identifies Hanan's method of interpreting verses and elaborating on subscriber comments. This study uses a qualitative method. Data was obtained from Hanan's YouTube Channel and other related references. The data is classified and interpreted through content analysis. Based on these data, it was found that Hanan used Qs. Ar-Ra'du verse 28, Qs. At-Taubah verse 124. And Qs. Al-Ankabut verses 1-3 and Qs. Al-Baqarah verse 214 is understood by Hanan as a verse of faith. He understands the importance of the younger generation believing in Allah and will go through phases including the ibtila phase (test phase) and the tamkin (help) phase. This led to many positive responses from subscribers who found Hanan's interpretation very interesting. Get PDFIn this postmodern era, occultism practices with a mystical touch still have a large market in Indonesia. This article discusses the occultism practices of Gus Syamsudin on the Nur Dzat Sejati youtube channel. The phenomenon of commercializing religion using occultism practices by Gus Syamsudin deserves to be studied because it has attracted a lot of public attention with all its controversies. The practices carried out by Gus Syamsudin certainly contain discourses that need to be revealed because they do not simply appear from a vacuum. This research attempts to expose the discourse of Gus Syamsudin by unraveling the ideology or power of the discourse maker. The author uses the critical discourse analysis theory by Teun van Dijk, which elaborates on three dimensions: text (all elements of semiotics), social cognition (how the text is consumed and interpreted), and social context (the background of text consumption). The Van Dijk model theory is used because it can study the mental state of the discourse maker and analyze the discourse that is prevalent in society. The results of this study show that the practices carried out by Gus Syamsudin are solely for commercial business purposes. He sees an opportunity in the midst of the religious Indonesian society, which is prone to having mystical beliefs, to make a profit.
Di era post-modern praktik okultisme yang berbau mistis masih memiliki pasar besar di Indonesia. Artikel ini membahas mengenai praktik okultisme gus Syamsudin dalam channel youtube padepokan Nur Dzat Sejati. Fenomena komersialisasi agama dengan menggunakan praktik okultisme yang dilakukan oleh Gus Syamsudin ini perlu untuk dikaji karena banyak menarik perhatian masyarakat dengan segala kontroversinya. Praktik yang dilakukan oleh Gus Syamsuddin tentu memuat wacana yang perlu untuk diungkap karena tak serta merta muncul dari ruang hampa. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menelanjangi wacana Gus Syamsudin dengan menyibak muatan ideologi atau kekuasaan pembuat wacana. Penulis menggunakan teori analisis wacana kritis model Teun van Dijk dengan mengelaborasikan tiga dimensi yakni teks (keseluruhan elemen semiosis), kognisi sosial (bagaimana teks dikonsumsi dan dimaknai), dan konteks sosial (latar belakang akibat konsumsi teks). Teori model Van Dijk ini digunakan karena dapat meneliti mental dari pembuat wacana dan menganalisa wacana yang berkembang di masyarakat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa praktik yang dilakukan oleh Gus Syamsuddin semata hanya untuk kepentingan bisnis komersial. Ia melihat kesempatan ditengah masyarakat Indonesia yang agamis dan cenderung memiliki kepercayaan mistis untuk meraup keuntungan

In this study using qualitative methods. Informants in this study were principals, vice principals, and teachers. Data collection techniques through the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study used data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study which show that the leadership style of the principal at SD Negeri 1 Riding can be said to be good, it can be seen from the indicators, namely making decisions, motivation of subordinates, healthy work environment, mutual trust, responsibility. The leadership style carried out by the principal has been assessed as good even though there are still shortcomings, therefore in leading the principal, it is better to improve his leadership style so that the desired thing can be achieved effectively and efficiently

METODE EXPONENTIAL SMOOTHING WITH TREND PADA AKURASI PERAMALAN KEBAKARAN HUTAN DAN LAHAN
Get PDFKebakaran hutan dan lahan yang terjadi membuat dampak global mengakibatkan gangguan pernapasan dan mengganggu aktivitas sehari-hari. Pemerintah sedang berupaya mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, namun belum dapat sepenuhnya menentukan area kebakaran hutan dan lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meramalkan kebakaran hutan dan lahan menggunakan metode exponential smoothing with trend. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akurasi peramalan dengan metode Exponential Smoothing with Trend menggambarkan tingkat kesalahan yang cukup berdasarkan kriteria, dengan memiliki MAPE yang lebih kecil sebesar 30,99 sehingga metode ini merupakan salah satu metode peramalan yang cocok untuk meramalkan luas kebakaran hutan dan lahan tahun 2023 dengan luas sebesar 167,487 Hektare. Hasil perhitungan ini dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar kebijakan dalam pemberian informasi dan penanganan dini luas daerah yang terkena dampak kebakaran hutan dan lahan pada tahun 2023
