Peran Pesantren Tarekat Roudhoh Al-Hikam dalam Mengembangkan Tradisi Intelektual Islam dan Moderasi Beragama di Indonesia
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap peranan dan konsistensi Pesantren Tarekat terhadap pengembangan tradisi intelektual Islam dan moderasi beragama di Indonesia. Penelitian ini sekaligus menjawab dua problem besar umat Islam yang saat ini terjadi yakni surutnya tradisi intelektual dan mengikisnya kesadaran moderasi beragama, di mana dua hal tersebut telah lama terbangun. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Teori Manajemen Teror dengan studi kasus Pesantren Tarekat bernama Roudhoh Al-Hikam, yang berlokasi di Cibinong, Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian ini mengambil dua sumber data, yaitu data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi lapangan dan wawancara, dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari buku dan jurnal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, pesantren tarekat konsisten menghidupkan tradisi intelektual Islam khas Indonesia yakni melaksanakan dan mengembangkan kurikulum pendidikan Islam berbasis mazhab Syafi’i dan berteologi Asy’ari-Maturidi, yang bersumber dari kitab kuning. Kedua, kiai atau mursyid berperan besar terhadap keberhasilan pendidikan di pesantren sekaligus membangun sikap moderasi beragama. Ketiga, pesantren tarekat berperan atas munculnya pesantren atau lembaga pendidikan baru yang didirikan dan dikembangkan oleh para alumninya. Keempat, pesantren tarekat berperan dalam wacana moderasi beragama karena konsisten mengajarkan nilai-nilai etika Islam yang menjaga dan membentengi para santri dari pemahaman agama yang menyimpang.
AbstractThis research aims to uncover the role and consistency of the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School in the development of Islamic intellectual tradition and religious moderation in Indonesia. This research simultaneously answers two major problems faced by the Muslim community today, namely the decline of intellectual tradition and the erosion of awareness of religious moderation, both of which have long been established. This research utilizes Terror Management Theory analysis with a case study of the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School, named Roudhoh Al-Hikam, located in Cibinong, Bogor Regency. The study collects data from two sources, namely primary data obtained from field observations and interviews and secondary data obtained from books and journals. The results of the study show that, firstly, the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School consistently promotes the distinctive Islamic intellectual tradition in Indonesia, namely by implementing and developing an Islamic education curriculum based on the Shafi\u27i school of thought and Asy\u27ari-Maturidi theology, sourced from the yellow book. Secondly, the kyai or mursyid plays a significant role in the success of education in Islamic Boarding School while also cultivating a mindset of religious moderation. Thirdly, the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School contributes to the emergence of new Islamic Boarding School, or educational institutions, established and developed by its alumni. Fourthly, the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School plays a role in the discourse of religious moderation by consistently teaching Islamic ethical values that safeguard and protect students from deviant religious understandings
Interreligious Environmentalism: The Way Ahmadiyya Group Engages to Interfaith Dialogue
There have been many studies on Ahmadiyya and their involvement in inter/intra-religious dialogue. However, some of these studies only look at how the dialogue takes shape or tends to be formal. Ahmadiyya, which is a vulnerable religious group, certainly needs a new model of dialogue or encounter. This article assumes that "mutual collaboration in public issues" can be an encounter space for interfaith dialogue for religious groups, especially for minorities. From this, this research aims to see the strategy of the Ahmadiyya community in Yogyakarta to be able to engage with society and also see the inter/intra-religious dialogue model used by the Ahmadiyya community in Yogyakarta. To answer these questions, this research uses qualitative research methods. Furthermore, this research takes data through the interview process and literature obtained from Ahmadiyya online media and then analyzed using descriptive and interpretive analysis techniques. This study found that the Ahmadiyya community uses environmental issues to have dialogue with other religious communities and become a space for encounter and acceptance in society
State under Challenge: Discerning the Imbroglio of Nigeria’s Religious Conflict and Security Implications
Religious conflict has been something that fills Nigeria’s plate in the past decades. The palpable terror and suffering the conflicts have brought are undeniably dangerous for both the state and the people. Given the intricacy and immense impact the religious conflict has, the article seeks to shine a light on this particular problem in Nigeria. The article provides its findings through the qualitative research method that utilizes data gathered from previous research, media coverage and other sources. The concepts of national security along with Galtung’s violence triangle are also used to better understand the issue at hand. The article touches upon the ongoing, what is at stake over the issue as well as the available means to face the issue. It is found how the numerous atrocities that take the guise of religious reasons can be caused by other issues like poverty, the presence of political entrepreneurs and other manure piles as well. On the second point, the risk of having the problem spreading to neighboring states along with the conflict’s overall exacerbation. In the third point, the government may resort to means like securitization of the issue and keep up its effort in running interfaith dialogue and collaborating with foreign partners. Finally, Indonesia is a go-to partner for Nigeria as it is experienced in the handling of religious conflicts as apparent in its past events and capacity to adapt
Tradisi Mo Basa-Basa: Perilaku Moderasi Beragama Pada Masyarakat Desa Tongalino, Sulawesi Tenggara
AbstrakSelama ini moderasi beragama hanya dilakukan oleh kalangan masyarakat beragama, sementara beberapa masyarakat yang menjalankan tradisi budaya telah memberikan pengaruh kepada proses moderasi beragama. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa moderasi beragama dapat dilakukan pada tingkatan akar rumput dengan pendekatan tradisi yang sejak lama dilaksanakan. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menjelaskan bagaimana satu rangkaian kegiatan budaya yang mampu menyatukan berbagai aliran keagamaan dalam satu budaya yang terdapat pada masyarakat yang disebut dengan mo basa-basa. Metode pada penelitian ini ialah penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini ialah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun analisis data yang digunakan ialah metode analisis deskriptif (descriptive analisys) dan analsisi reflektif (reflective analisys). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tradisi mo basa-basa pada masyarakat Desa Tongalino memiliki peran penting dalam masyarakat. Terdapat tiga poin nilai moderasi beragama yaitu, nilai persatuan (silaturahim), nilai sosial budaya masyarakat, dan nilai religius. Pada akhirnya, ketiganya telah dimanifesatasikan dalam proses moderasi beragama kehidupan sehari-hari.
AbstractSo far, religious moderation has only been carried out by religious communities, while several communities that carry out cultural traditions have influenced the process of religious moderation. This shows that religious moderation can be carried out at the grassroots level with a traditional approach that has been carried out for a long time. The purpose of this research is to explain how a series of cultural activities is able to unite various religious schools in one culture that exists in society, which is called mo-bases. The method in this research is field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection techniques of this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and reflective analysis. The results of this study indicate that the tradition of small talk in the people of Tongalino Village has an important role in society. there are three points of religious moderation values, namely, the value of unity (silaturarahim), the socio-cultural values of society and religious values. In the end, these three have been manifested in the process of moderation in daily life religion
Grassroot Women’s Perspective on Interreligious Issues: A Sociocultural Analysis
Due to the presence of migrants and three large mosques that serve as centers of religious activities, 6,183 housewives in Pogung Kidul, or 18.02%, begin to interact with the growing diversity. Given their significant roles in promoting an open and inclusive understanding of religion within their families and social circles, this study aims to analyze how grassroot women’s interactions and involvement influence their perspectives on interfaith relations. Employing purposive sampling followed by semi-structured interviews with six housewives from the three large mosques of Pogung Kidul, namely Pogung Raya Mosque, Pogung Dalangan Mosque, and Pogung Baru Mosque, this qualitative study intends to investigate the complex interaction between women’s understanding of interfaith relations and the variables that influence their perspectives. Personal life experiences and the interaction of religious teachings emerged as the two primary factors that shaped their understanding and behavior within the context of the social community. They then internalized religious and social ethics, resulting in performative behaviors and attitudes that demonstrate piety and symbolize the spirit of Islamic revivalism while fostering positive social relations in an interreligious setting
Keramahan Terhadap Sesama yang Berbeda Agama di Kalangan Mahasiswa Kampus Bela Negara
Sebagai wacana tandingan atas fenomena intoleransi yang bermunculan di Indonesia, kajian terkait keramahan terhadap agama lain (religious-others hospitality) harus dikaji lebih serius. Berdasarkan argumentasi Siddiqui yang mengatakan bahwa keramahan terhadap yang berbeda agama, bermuara pada masalah tarik menarik antara keberadaan manusia sebagai makhluk bermoral (Moral person) dan sebagai individu yang terikat oleh hukum (Legal person), penelitian ini mengkaji permasalahan kontestasi antara kedua faktor tersebut di kalangan mahasiswa Muslim di tiga Kampus Bela Negara (UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, Jakarta, dan Yogyakarta). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran (mixed methods) yang menggabungkan penyebaran online questionnaire dan wawancara dengan para pengajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Bela Negara. Berdasarkan analisis kuantitatif, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa faktor moral person dan legal person berpengaruh positif pada pembentukan karakter keramahan pada diri mahasiswa sebesar 10.4% dengan proporsi nilai moral person (yang terdiri dari nilai-nilai agama) lebih dominan dibanding legal person. Analisis kualitiatif lanjutan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga faktor pendukung terbentuknya keramahaman para mahasiswa: kemajemukan latar belakang keagamaan, nilai-nilai Bela Negara yang ditanamkan pada mata kuliah wajib, serta dukungan penuh dari segenap pimpinan serta tenaga pengajar.

As a counter discourse to the cases of intolerance in Indonesia, studies related to religious-others hospitality should be revisited more seriously. Based on Siddiqui\u27s argument that hospitality towards different religions leads to the issue of attraction between the existence of humans as “Moral persons†and as “Legal persons,†this current article examines the contestation between those two factors among Muslim students at three State Defense Campuses (UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, Jakarta, and Yogyakarta). This current research uses mixed method to gain its primary data that combines spreading of online questionnaire and interviews with lecturers of Islamic Education and State Defense subjects. Based on quantitative analysis, this study concludes that the moral person and legal person factors have a positive impact on the formation of the religious-others hospitality character by 10.4% with the proportion of moral person values (consisting of religious values) being more dominant than the other one. Further qualitative analysis shows that there are three factors that support the formation of student\u27s religious-others hospitality: the plurality of their religious backgrounds, the values of Bela Negara that are instilled in a compulsory subject, and full support from all leaders of the university and its teaching staff.

Rumah Radakng dan Penanaman Nilai Toleransi di Masyarakat Adat Dayak
Dayak merupakan salah satu suku atau etnis dari berbagai macam suku yang berkembang di Indonesia, khususnya di Pulau Kalimantan. Suku Dayak memiliki beragam sub suku yang hidup berdampingan yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai toleransi, dan memiliki rumah adat Radakng atau rumah panjang yang berfungsi untuk menjalin keharmonisan antar sesama. Seiring berjalanya waktu suku tersebut terlibat beberapa kali konflik dengan suku tertentu, seperti peristiwa di Sampit. Pada dasarnya suku Dayak menjadi sorotan utama, karena memiliki masa lalu yang buruk terkait konflik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitaif dan metode kepustakaan. Teknik pengambilan data yaitu dengan studi kepustakaan dan menggunakan analisis hermeneutika, yang merupakan penafsiran dari dokumen-dokumen yang diperoleh oleh peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penanaman nilai-nilai toleransi mulai dilakukan melalui rumah Radakng yang memiliki makna untuk menjalin kehidupan dengan penuh toleransi, kerukunan, gotong royong dan keadilan. Implikasi dari implementasi nilai-nilai toleransi tersebut dapat meningkatkan kerukunan antar umat beragama tanpa memandang perbedaan suku sehingga sangat jarang ditemui konflik antar umat beragama khususnya di suku Dayak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi nilai-nilai toleransi melalui rumah adat Radakng dilakukan suku Dayak dengan baik, dan berimplikasi pada keharmonisan kerukunan antar umat beragama dan juga antar suku.

Dayak is one of the tribes or ethnic groups of various tribes that developed in Indonesia, especially on the island of Borneo. The Dayak tribe has various sub-tribes that live side by side who uphold the values ​​of tolerance, and have the Radakng traditional house or long house that functions to establish harmony among others. Over time the tribe was involved in several conflicts with certain tribes, such as the incident in Sampit. Basically the Dayak tribe is in the main spotlight, because it has a bad past related to conflict. This study uses a qualitative approach and library methods. The data collection technique is by studying literature and using hermeneutic analysis, which is the interpretation of the documents obtained by the researcher. The results showed that the cultivation of tolerance values ​​began to be carried out through the Radakng house which has the meaning to build a life full of tolerance, harmony, mutual cooperation and justice. The implication of the implementation of the values ​​of tolerance can increase harmony between religious communities regardless of ethnic differences so that conflicts between religious communities are very rare, especially in the Dayak tribe. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of tolerance values ​​through the Radakng traditional house is carried out by the Dayak tribe well, and has implications for the harmony of inter-religious and inter-ethnic harmony.

Konstruksi Prinsip Kebebasan Beragama dan Diskursusnya di Indonesia dalam Perspektif Sejarah Walter Benjamin
Kebebasan beragama merupakan satu isu sentral dewasa ini. Terminologi ini secara konseptual jelas, namun secara faktual, masih jauh dari harapan. Penulis memakai konsep sejarah Walter Benjamin sebagai pisau analisis. Refleksi filosofis Benjamin menandaskan pentingnya kemampuan belajar dari sejarah kelam masa lalu sebagai cahaya yang menuntun para pelaku sejarah masa kini. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan momentum-momentum historis perkembangan prinsip kebebasan beragama. Pengalaman historis umat Kristen berkaitan dengan kebebasan beragama akan menjadi sumbangan unik tulisan ini. Tujuan lain adalah untuk meneliti proses penerimaan konsep ini menjadi salah satu Hak Asasi Manusia dan diskursus tentangnya di Indonesia. Studi ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan desain metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa baik dokumen Deklarasi Universal Hak Asasi Manusia maupun Undang-undang Dasar 1945 yang menjamin kebebasan beragama dan berkeyakinan merupakan buah dari refleksi kritis terhadap konteks sejarah kelam masa silam. Sayangnya, beberapa aturan hukum di Indonesia masih terkesan melanggengkan intoleransi. Hal ini terjadi sebagai dampak dari praktik indoktrinasi yang kurang sehat. Semestinya kerukunan-toleransi bukan sesuatu yang dipaksakan oleh negara melainkan diupayakan bersama di antara para penganut berbagai agama, dalam satu kerja sama yang positif dengan negara.

Religious freedom is a central issue today. The idea is much clearer conceptually, but its implementation is still far from expectations. The author adopts the historical concept of Walter Benjamin as an analytical tool. Benjamin\u27s philosophical reflection emphasizes the importance of learning from the history of the past as a light that guides the perpetrators of today\u27s history. This paper aims at describing the historical momentum of the principle of religious freedom, and  examining the process of acceptation of this concept as one of Human Rights and its discourse in Indonesia. The historical experience of Christians in relation to religious freedom will be a unique contribution to this paper. This study is a library research with a qualitative method design. The results of this study indicate that both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 1945 Constitution which guarantee religious freedom are the fruit of critical reflection on the historical context of the past. Unfortunately, several laws in Indonesia still seem to perpetuate intolerance. This happens as a result of unhealthy indoctrination practices. Harmony-tolerance should not be imposed by the state, but should be pursued jointly among adherents of various religions, in a positive partnership with the state.

Kontribusi Organisasi Transnasional Seventh-day Adventist Memperkuat Afirmasi Toleransi Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh Surakarta
Kota Surakarta merupakan wilayah plural bagi ragam penganut agama dan kepercayaan. Ada potensi pergesekan antar pemeluk agama, dan bagi kaum minoritas seperti kelompok Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh (GMAHK) kondisi ini adalah tantangan. GMAHK merupakan bagian organisasi transnasional berbasis agama, Seventh-day Adventist (SDA). Organisasi transnasional bagi suatu negara berpotensi mempengaruhi pola perilaku para pengikutnya dengan nilai global yang dibawanya. Dibutuhkan strategi agar dapat menyesuaikan nilai-nilai lokal dengan global, sehingga dapat menjaga eksistensinya meski sebagai kelompok minoritas. Penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana kontribusi organisasi transnasional Seventh-day Adventist memperkuat afirmasi toleransi GMAHK Kota Surakarta. Metode penelitian adalah kualitatif menggunakan studi kasus intrinsik. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, FGD, observasi dan studi dokumen. Analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan faith-based development organizations, guna melihat peran dan relasi organisasi transnasional lintas negara berbasis agama. Peneliti menemukan bahwa kontribusi SDA tampak dari esklusifitas identitas global dalam memperkuat afirmasi nilai toleransi GMAHK Surakarta tanpa mengabaikan identitas lokal. SDA membangun sistem terarah dengan mengadaptasikan nilai-nilai global organisasi dalam isu-isu lokal, membangun guideline system melalui jaringan komunikasi dan koordinasi terstruktur, menguatkan self of belonging dengan penguatan loyalitas dan fasilitasi berbagai aspek, penguatan peran perempuan melalui Bakti Wanita Advent, serta agenda interfaith dialogue dan kegiatan sosial lintas agama.

Surakarta is a plural area for various religions and beliefs. There is the possibility of conflict between religions, which poses a challenge for minorities such as the GMAHK, as part of Seventh-day Adventist, faith-based international organization. The arrival of transnational organizations influence the behavior of their followers with global value. A strategy is needed to adjust local values into global ones to maintain their existence as a minority group. This study analyzes how the contribution of the Seventh-day Adventist strengthens the affirmation of tolerance for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Surakarta. The research method was qualitative using intrinsic case studies. Collecting data through in-depth interviews, FGD, observations and document studies. The analysis was using faith-based development organizations approach to see the roles and relations of transnational organizations across countries. The researcher found that exclusivity of global identity is strengthening affirmation of tolerance value of GMAHK Surakarta without neglecting local identity. They have directed system by adapting the organization\u27s global values on local issues, building guideline system with structured communication and coordination network, strengthening self of belonging through loyalty and facilitation of various aspects, strengthening the role of women through Bakti Wanita Adventist, interfaith agenda, and general social activity.

Islamic Religious Education, Parenting Styles and Their Influence on The Character of Generation Z
This study focuses on the influence of Islamic religious education and parenting patterns on the characters of grade VII students at the Junior High School of Muhammadiyah 1, Semarang. This research was conducted because the author saw a decline in student characters. This research is a quantitative field with a Quantitative Positive approach. The step is to collect facts based on measurements of the symptoms that occurred in the previous respondent. This research was conducted at the Junior High School of Muhammadiyah 1 Semarang with three variables (X1, X2, and Y). Data sources were obtained through observation, documentation, and questionnaires with 120 respondents. Data analysis used in this reasearch was regression t and f tests (ANOVA). The analysis showed that the f (ANOVA) test was 1.399 with a significance value of 0.274. It means that there is a jointly significant contribution between the PAI variable and parenting patterns on students\u27 characters at the Junior High School of Muhammadiyah 1 Semarang. Thus, curriculum programs contain material oriented to human needs as servants of God to worship and social beings for society. It is necessary to improve the quality of teachers through coaching, starting from theory to the level of understanding and practice of action.
