Une approche de programmation par démonstration pour l'intégration de la multimodalité sous mobile
TEC - Travaux en CoursInternational audienceThe emergence of sensor-based modalites enriches the human-mobile interaction. However, mobile applications end-users are o en faced with interaction restrictions and do not yet have the possibility to modify their interaction modalities, according to their needs. In this paper, we present an approach that allows smartphone users to add and modify the interaction modalities of their already installed mobile applications, according to their preferences and needs. The approach is based on a Wrapperthat acts as an intermediary between the user and the application and on the Programming By Demonstration (PBD) that allows the user to specify the desired changes.Ces dernières années, la présence de nouveaux capteurs sur les appareils mobiles a suscité un grand intérêt. L’émergence des modalités basées sur ces capteurs enrichit l’interaction homme-mobile. Cependant, les utilisateurs finaux des applications mobiles rencontrent souvent des restrictions d’interaction (petits écrans, clavier virtuel inconfortable, l’obligation d’utiliser les yeux et les deux mains pour certaines interactions, etc) et n’ont pas encore la possibilité de modifier leurs modalités d’interaction, selon leurs besoins. Dans ce papier, nous présentons une approche qui permet aux utilisateurs des smartphones, qui ne sont pas forcément des développeurs, d’ajouter et modifier, selon leurs préférences et besoins, les modalités d’interaction des applications déjà installées sur leurs smart- phones. L’approche se base sur, d’une part, l’utilisation d’un Wrapper qui joue le rôle d’intermédiaire entre l’utilisateur et l’application et sur, d’autre part, la programmation par démonstration qui permet à l’utilisateur de préciser les modifications souhaitées
DUCT: An Upper Confidence Bound Approach to Distributed Constraint Optimisation Problems *
International audienceWe propose a distributed upper confidence bound approach, DUCT, for solving distributed constraint optimisation problems. We compare four variants of this approach with a baseline random sampling algorithm, as well as other complete and incomplete algorithms for DCOPs. Under general assumptions, we theoretically show that the solution found by DUCT after T steps is approximately T −1-close to the optimal. Experimentally, we show that DUCT matches the optimal solution found by the well-known DPOP and O-DPOP algorithms on moderate-size problems, while always requiring less agent communication. For larger problems, where DPOP fails, we show that DUCT produces significantly better solutions than local, incomplete algorithms. Overall we believe that DUCT is a practical, scalable algorithm for complex DCOPs

Unanticipated Debugging with Dynamic Layers
International audienceTo debug running software we need unanticipated adaptation capabilities, especially when systems cannot be stopped, updated and restarted. Adapting such programs at runtime is an extreme solution given the delicate live contexts the debugging activity takes place. We introduce the Dynamic Layer, a construct in which behavioral variations are gathered and activated as a whole set of adaptations. Dimensions of Dynamic Layers activation are reified to allow very fine definitions of layer scopes and a fine grained selection of adapted entities. This paper describes and discusses the Dynamic Layer solution to perform unanticipated runtime debugging. An experimental implementation with the Pharo language is evaluated through a runtime adaptation example

Vers un alignement spatio-temporel du visage en conditions non contrôlées
International audienceL'alignement du visage est une tâche essentielle pour un grand nombre d'applications. Elle a pour objectif de lo-caliser des points caractéristiques sur le visage, dans le but d'identifier sa structure géométrique. En conditions non contrôlées, les différentes variations pouvant inter-venir dans le contexte visuel, associées à l'instabilité de la détection du visage, en font un problème difficile à ré-soudre. Bien que de nombreuses méthodes aient été propo-sées, leurs performances en présence de ces contraintes ne sont toujours pas satisfaisantes. Dans cet article, nous invi-tons à étudier l'alignement du visage à l'aide de séquences d'images et non d'images fixes, comme cela a pu être réa-lisé jusqu'à présent, et montrons l'importance de la prise en compte de l'information temporelle en conditions non contrôlées
Enriching Musical Interaction on Tactile Feedback Surfaces with Programmable Friction
International audienceIn the recent years, a great interest has emerged to utilize tactile interfaces for musical interactions. These interfaces can be enhanced with tactile feedback on the user's fingertip through various technologies , including programmable friction techniques. In this study, we have used a qualitative approach to investigate the potential influence of these tactile feedback interfaces on user's musical interaction. We have experimented three different mappings between the sound parameters and the tactile feedback in order to study the users' experiences of a given task. Our preliminary findings suggest that friction-based tactile feedback is a useful tool to enrich musical interactions and learning
Adjuvant chemotherapy in pT1ab node-negative triple-negative breast carcinomas: Results of a national multi-institutional retrospective study
International audienceBACKGROUND:Triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs) are considered as associated with poor outcome, but prognosis of subcentimetric, node-negative disease remains controversial and evidence that adjuvant chemotherapy (CT) is effective in these small tumours remains limited.PATIENTS AND METHODS:Our objective was to investigate the impact of CT on survival in pT1abN0M0 TNBC. Patients were retrospectively identified from a cohort of 22,475 patients who underwent primary surgery in 15 French centres between 1987 and 2013. As rare pathological types may display very particular prognoses in these tumours, we retained only the invasive ductal carcinomas of no special type according to the last World Health Organisation (WHO) classification which is the most common TNBC histological type. End-points were disease-free survival (DFS) and metastasis-free survival (MFS). A propensity score for receiving CT was estimated using a logistic regression including age, tumour size, Scarff Bloom and Richardson (SBR) grade and lymphovascular invasion
