Development Of Carrots (Daucus Carota L.) Flour Steamed Brownies
Background: Carrots production in Indonesia is quite abundant but has not been used optimally. How to process carrots is very necessary so that they become foods that have a high selling value while maintaining the content of antioxidant compounds contained therein One way to optimize is to make carrot flour that can reprocess into food products, steamed brownies. This research was conducted to increase the selling value of carrots, to determine the quality and antioxidant activity of carrot flour steamed brownies.
Methods: The research type is quantitative with a design of descriptive research. Determination of the quality of carrots flour and carrots flour steamed brownies included water and ash content assays. A qualitative assay using color reaction assays, quantitative analysis, and antioxidant activity using UV-Visible Spectrophotometry.
Results: The quality assay result content of water and ash in carrots flour was 4.1% and 0.5% and in carrots flour steamed brownies was 26.8% and 1.8%. A qualitative assay using a color reaction assay with antimony trichloride showed positive results, both for carrot flour and carrot flour steamed brownies. The result of antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 241.4822 ± 2,1294 ppm
Conclusion: The quality assay results in carrots flour and carrots flour steamed brownies in accordance with the flour parameters of SNI 3751: 2009 and SNI 01-3840-1995 for steamed brownies. The result of antioxidant activity for carrots flour steamed brownies including a medium level. It is necessary to carry out proximate tests such as fat, protein, carbohydrate, and microbiological tests on carrot flour and carrots flour steamed brownies
The Relationship Between Auditory Memory Digit And Receptive Language Ability Of Preschool Age Child In Surakarta
Background: Receptive language is the ability to understand what is seen and heard to help children develop listening skills, identify concepts through understanding the labeling of words, and improve the ability to respond to any communication. Auditory memory involves the ability to retrieve information presented orally. This study analyzed the relationship between auditory memory digit and preschool-age child receptive language ability.
Methods: This study was quantitative research. The research design used in this study was an observational correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 58 students in three Private Kindergartens existing in the Ministry of Education and Culture of Surakarta. Auditory memory testability of sample using hearing forward test and receptive language ability of sample using Assessment of Children\u27s Language Comprehension form. Hypothesis testing using the Chi-Square hypothesis.
Results: The result it can be concluded that auditory memory digit does not have a relationship with receptive language ability in preschool-age children because significance value more than 0.05 (ρ>0.05) with an OR value of 0.857, this means that the auditory memory digit is above average has a meager chance of influencing receptive language ability above average, which is only 0.857.
Conclusion: The dominant factor influencing the receptive language skills of children aged 3-6 years is communication during interactions or activities with parents, such as reading fairy tales or telling stories. Receptive language skills predicted symbolic understanding as reflected in picture comprehension and how language skills are interrelated with social skills
Community-Based Supportive Educative Improves Self-Care Management of Type II Diabetes Mellitus in the Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic
Background: Diabetes is the most serious, threatening and growing global health problem, leading to high morbidity and mortality and increasing health care costs. A patient\u27s lack of understanding and self-help about the disease only exacerbates the situation. Community-based, supported learning is a skill that helps improve the patient experience. This study aims to determine the effect of a supportive community education program on self-management in patients with type 2 diabetes. \
Methods: The design of this study is quasi-empirical. The number of samples was 86, a simple randomized sample divided into two groups, 43 in the treatment group supporting community education activities, and 43 in the control group distributing leaflets on diabetes management. The Personal Care Behavioral Data Collection Tool uses the Diabetes Self-Management Summary (SDSCA). Results from studies were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney U test.
Result. According to the Wilcoxon signed rank test, the self-management score was 0.001 in the intervention group and p = 0.014 in the control group. Based on the Mann-Whitney test, the difference in self-help index between the experimental group and the control group after intervention was p = 0.001. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrate that supportive community-based educational activities are effective in increasing self-management opportunities in people with type 2 diabetes. This intervention can help increase independence in people with type 2 diabetes
Characterization And Acute Toxicity Test Of Black Garlic Ethanol Exctract Based On OECD
Background: Garlic (Allium sativum, L) was used empirically by the ancestors as a useful plant for hypercholesterolemia. The processed garlic product, namely black garlic, has gone through an optimal heating process at a temperature of 70oC for 21 days. Black garlic can become a standardized herb if it has been through characterization and toxicity tests.
Methods: The characterization test is known by measuring several general standard parameters of Indonesian extracts. Acute toxicity test was carried out by dividing 5 treatment groups namely negative control, group I (5 mg/kg BW), group II (50 mg/kg BW), group III (300 mg/kg BW), group IV (2000 mg/kg BW).
Results: The results showed that the standardization of black garlic extract has a drying shrinkage content of 7.24%, a water content of 8.8%, a total ash content of 4.79%, an acid insoluble ash content of 1.52%, a water soluble extract content of 7.47% and an ethanol soluble extract content of 9.3% which is still into the Indonesian herbal pharmacopoeia standard and the administration of black garlic ethanol extract caused mild toxic symptoms during the acute toxicity test and obtained LD50 values > 2000 mg/kg BW.
Conclusion: Characterization of black garlic extract according to standardization parameters of Indonesian plant extracts and administration of ethanolic extract of black garlic has an LD50 value > 2000 mg/kg BW which is included in category 5 in the OECD
Improving Family Knowledge And Attitudes On Malnutrition Through Family Centered Nursing-Based Modules And Videos
Background: Education through media modules and instructional videos can improve families\u27 knowledge of and attitudes toward malnutrition.
Methods: This study uses a quasi-experimental research design, involving a pretest-posttest with a control group design. A sample of 74 families, divided into 37 families, were given education using learning modules and videos about malnutrition with family-centered nursing and 37 families as controls. The independent variables are learning modules and videos, while the dependent variables are knowledge and attitudes about malnutrition among families. The 30-question knowledge and attitude questionnaire about malnutrition that was given to families shows that it is valid and reliable. The Wilcoxon test was used to determine changes in the mean values before and after treatment.
Results: After receiving treatment, respondents demonstrated an increase in their knowledge and attitudes. The mean value of knowledge increased by more than 30%, while the mean value of attitude statements increased by less than 10%, both of which exceeded the control group. The Wilcoxon p (0.001) test results were obtained before and after treatment administration for both groups.
Conclusion: Providing education using joint learning modules and videos based on family-centered nursing is effective and can be carried out by nurses to increase family knowledge and attitudes about malnutrition
How Is The Readiness To Carry Out Online Registration In The Malang Primary Health Care?
Background: RME is one of the information subsystems connected to other information subsystems in the health service facility, such as patient registration activities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the readiness of PHC in Malang to use online registration applications.
Methods: Quantitative descriptive research was used. The research was conducted in 15 PHCs in Malang in June 2021. The population in this study were all patients, all heads of PHCs, and all Medical Record Officers (MRO) at PHCs. The respondents were 15 physicians, 27 MRO, and 330 patients from 15 PHCs seeking medication. The data was measured using a questionnaire designed for patient groups and healthcare provider groups in PHCs per the available literature. Additionally, the scalability and repeatability coefficients for the survey questions are employed in the validity test. The response to questions was presented as an average value.
Results: In accordance with the average Likert Scale, the Head of PHC (4,2), MRO (4,15), and patients (4,18) were all ready to use online registration. The study\u27s findings about PHC revealed that 100% of PHC in Malang had adequate human resources, an effective operating system and application, a supporting computer, and a budget. Only around 50% of PHCs have an online registration policy, though.
Conclusion: All PHCs and patients were ready to use online registration. According to this study, all PHCs should be ready to prepare facilities and infrastructure and implement online registration
COVID-19’s Vaccine Rejection: Lesson Learned To Preserving Health Security In Indonesia
Background: Indonesia is a country with low COVID-19 vaccination coverage from 2020 through 2021. Different sociodemographic conditions determine the success of vaccination in suppressing the transmission of COVID-19. This systematic review aims to identify the reasons for the refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine among the general and vulnerable communities in Indonesia.
Methods: This study uses a systematic review method using PubMed and Google Scholar. The keywords used are COVID-19 vaccine, acceptance, determinant, and Indonesia. The article, which was specifically researched, presents the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia only in 2020 and 2021. Elicit information from found articles to form conclusions for each article.
Results: Based on 12 studies, the main causes of the rejection of the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia are knowledge and negative attitudes. In the aspect of knowledge, three things become problems, namely fear of the side effects of vaccination, doubts about the effectiveness of vaccines, and doubts about vaccine safety. Negative attitudes are influenced by propaganda and conspiracies.
Conclusion: The general population and vulnerable people in Indonesia are more likely to reject the COVID-19 vaccine, so the target for mass vaccination is not achieved, the main reasons being knowledge and perception. Control strategies and invitations for specific COVID-19 vaccinations are critical in order to get the general public and vulnerable populations to participate in vaccination activities.
Music Therapy Affects Elderly Sleep Quality
Background: Music therapy will stimulate the release of the hormones melatonin, endorphins, and encephalin, which are able to make the body relax, calm, reduce pain, and cause feelings of pleasure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving uyon-uyon Javanese-style music therapy to improve the sleep quality of the elderly in Makamhaji Village, Kartasura, Sukoharjo.
Methods: A pre-experimental research design with one group pre- and post-design. The study population of elderly people in PWRI Makamhaji Village, Kartasura, and Sukoharjo consisted of 80 respondents. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique. There were 62 respondents in the sample. Uyon-Uyon Javanese Style Music Therapy is variable, independent, and dependent on sleep quality. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) instrument. Apply the statistics paired sample T-test to the hypothesis.
Results: Statistical tests showed that there was a mean difference before and after treatment of 5.27, with a large difference in the quality of sleep before and after treatment of -6.762 and a p-value = 0.000.
Conclusions: There is an influence of Uyon-Uyon Javanese Style Music Therapy to Improve the Quality of Sleep for the Elderly in Makamhaji Village, Kartasura, Sukoharjo. Future researchers can examine more deeply other factors that might become a bias in this study in order to refine and clarify the information from this research
The Effect Of Psychoeducation Based On Self Care Theory On Knowledge, Compliance, Independent Care And Blood Glucose Levels In Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Background: The style of modern society in dietary habits such as eating foods that are high in fat, sugar and frequent attendance at receptions or parties, tends to consume excessive food which can lead to an increase in blood sugar levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of psychoeducation based on self-care theory on knowledge, compliance, independent care and blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods: This type of research uses a researched method that is an exploratory approach. In the first stage the type of descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach and in the second stage using a Quasy-Experimental research design with a pre posttest approach. Samples were taken using the simple random sampling method of 6 participants in stage I and stage II totaling 64 respondents consisting of 32 intervention groups and 32 control groups. The independent variable is psychoeducation based on self-care theory. Variables between knowledge, compliance, independent care. The dependent variable of blood glucose levels. The instrument uses interviews, knowledge, compliance questionnaires, glucometers and modules. The analysis used the MANOVA test with a significant value of = 0.05.
Results: Research in the first stage obtained 4 themes, namely knowledge, self-motivation, social motivation, behavioral skills. The results of the second stage of the study showed that there was an effect of psychoeducation based on self-care theory on knowledge (p=0.000), compliance (p=0.000), self-care independence (p=0.000), and blood glucose levels (p=0.000).
Conclusion: This intervention can be given to improve the quality of patient\u27s health
The Behavior Of Adolescent Reproductive Health Facility Utilization
Background: Adolescence is the starting point of the human life cycle in preparing for a healthy reproductive process. Guidance and information that is not true at this time can oftaffectect the future of adolescents. Most adolescents don’t use Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) services (57%), quite a lot of adolescents (46.3%) use internet technology in accessing the information on ARH (Sampulawa & Mubarokah, 2015). Based on the above background, the researcher wants to explore the behavior of using ARH facilities in the city of Malang.
Methods: Descriptive research method with cross-sectional approach, with population, are all teenagers in the city of Malang. The research sample was taken using the purposive sampling technique, obtained a suitable sample of 200 adolescents from April to June 2021. The inclusion criteria of this study were unmarried and willing to be research respondents. Collecting data using a questionnaire via a google form. Descriptive analysis technique, presented in the frequency distribution.
Results: The majority of respondents have never received correct knowledge about reproductive health (89.6%), with the majority of information sources obtained from schools (80%) and mass media (45.5%). Respondents used mass media to access information on reproductive health from the internet (87.5%) and books (51.5%). In using gadgets, respondents use them for 5-10 hours a day (53.5%), but only occasionally use them to find information about reproductive health (50.5%). Respondents stated that the use of mass media as a source of information about reproductive health can help in maintaining health (96.5%).
Conclusion: Internet-based health education about adolescent reproductive health is needed because it is easy and simple, and the content is interesting to read. It can be used as an alternative media for reproductive health learning
