Measuring network-driven citations: An adjusted citation count metric
International audienceCitation count is extensively used within research systems to measure research performance and relevance. However, high numbers of citations could result from many different factors. This paper proposes an adjusted citation count metric to help identify citations from researchers’ networks. Using data from the Web of Science core collection, this research suggests and illustrates an approach to compute the proportion of citation counts from within and out of author networks, defined as the set of their co-authors. The results reveal the trends and effects of author networks on citation counts. The paper explains how these findings could be used to assess research performance. Its utilisation will depend mainly on the objectives of the assessor and the stage of the researcher’s career. An algorithm is also proposed that could be used to automate the computation of the proposed metric. It could serve as a step towards refining and integrating this metric into existing bibliometric analysis packages built on the R software platform
Multi-criteria classification, sorting, and clustering: a bibliometric review and research agenda
International audienceMulti-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) has been increasingly adopted to solve decision-making problems involving multiple options and multiple criteria. These methods have been proven to improve the analytic rigor, transparency, and auditability of the decision-making process by integrating the performance of options in different criteria and balancing subjective preferences from different stakeholders. This review aims to map the academic research on multi-criteria sorting, classification and clustering methods, and highlights the key research trends and avenues by conducting a bibliometric analysis. We contribute to the body of knowledge in multi-criteria decision analysis in four ways: (1) identifying the most influential articles on this topic, (2) mapping the research on multi-criteria sorting, classification and clustering methods, (3) visualizing the trends in this field of research through network analysis, and (4) highlighting areas for future research. The results of this study help academics and practitioners to navigate the literature on MCDA methods, provide a map of existing evidence, and recommend promising avenues for future research
Portfolio optimization through hybrid deep learning and genetic algorithms vine Copula-GARCH-EVT-CVaR model
International audienceThis study investigates the potential benefits of using the Conditional Value at Risk (CVaR) portfolio optimization approach with a GARCH model, Extreme Value Theory (EVT), and Vine Copula to obtain the optimal allocation decision for a portfolio consisting of Bitcoin, gold, oil, and stock indices. First, we fit a suitable GARCH model to the return series for each asset, followed by employing the Generalized Pareto Distribution (GPD) to model the innovation tails. Next, we construct a Vine Copula-GARCH-EVT model to capture the interdependence structure between the assets. To refine risk assessment, we combine our model with a Monte Carlo simulation and Mean-CVaR model to optimize the portfolio. In addition, we utilize a novel version of deep machine learning's genetic algorithm to address the optimization decision. This research contributes new evidence to the CVaR portfolio optimization approach and provides insights for portfolio managers seeking to optimize multi-asset portfolios
Re-examining post-acceptance model of information systems continuance: A revised theoretical model using MASEM approach
International audienceHighlights • This paper extends the post-acceptance model of information systems continuance. • Perceived ease of use, attitude, trust, and enjoyment are new addition to the original model. • Relationships are tested using meta-analytic structural equation modeling. • Perceived ease of use positively influences perceived usefulness, attitude, and satisfaction. • Trust and enjoyment positively influence users' satisfaction and continuance intentions
Free to be me? Evolving gender expression and the dynamic interplay between authenticity and the desire to be accepted at work
International audienceThis article examines how the gender expression of transgender individuals evolve over time as they transition in the context of work
How employee share ownership plans impact firms' market value: A conflict of interest theory approach
International audienceWe investigated whether the market places a higher value on banks with employee share ownership plans (ESOPs) than on those without them. Using a variety of empirical models, we found that ESOPs increased the marketvalue of banks. However, this positive effect occurred only when banks were transparent or located in countries with strong shareholder protection. Our findings demonstrated that if banks were opaque or shareholder protectionwas weak, outside investors’ concerns about managerial entrenchment in widely held banks and behind-the-scenes relationships between majority shareholders and managers in closely held banks outweighed the perceived benefitsof ESOPs. Our study contributes to the literature by proposing a novel approach to study the effects of ESOPs through the prism of conflict of interest theory. Our findings also shed light on stakeholders’ rationales for opposing or adopting ESOPs
Facilitating Collaboration for Responsible Management Education: Voluntary Brokerage in the PRME Network
International audienceIntermediary actors have been recognized for their role in facilitating collaborations to achieve sustainability goals. Yet how voluntary sustainability collaborations, guided by intermediary actors, unfold in practice remains underdeveloped. Building on empirical data from the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) network and using a network brokerage lens, we unfold dynamics of voluntary sustainability collaboration in the presence of an intermediary actor. We find that intermediaries act as sustained iungens brokers in voluntary sustainability collaborations, by connecting other actors and coordinating new collaborations in a multi-level network. Their activities are affected by tensions inherent to iungens brokerage in a voluntary setting, and factors influencing the success of the network collaborations. We contribute to the sustainability literature by offering a firsthand view on the dynamics of sustainability collaborations through an autoethnographic approach. We provide implications for sustainability collaborations in voluntary settings and recommendations for advancing responsible management education through collaboration
Destigmatisation through social sharing of emotions and empowerment: The case of disabled athletes and consumers of disability sports
International audienceThis study examines the role of emotions and empowerment in the destigmatisation of disability. We draw on 12 in-depth interviews with professional disabled athletes and a netnography study of 221 YouTube comments from consumers of disability sport advertising. The findings show that both athletes and consumers share their own emotions or report on their perception of others’ emotions to mutually empower themselves and each other, which reduces stigma related to disability. By integrating the literatures on stigma, emotions and empowerment, we reveal how consumers of advertising contribute to the destigmatisation of others’ devalued social identities. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings related to advertising and inclusion are discussed
