Fast Fashion: from accelerating climate change to sustainable fashion
No full textEl propósito del estudio estuvo en analizar el impacto del fast fashion en el cambio climático, para comprender las prácticas y dinámicas de la industria de la moda rápida. El objetivo se basó en analizar el impacto del Fast Fashion en el aceleramiento del cambio climático hacia la moda sostenible en la industria textil colombiana. La metodología utilizada consistió en un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño no experimental descriptivo, el instrumento de recolección de datos aplicado fue la encuesta dirigida a personas de 18 a 35 años para comprender sus hábitos de consumo y su conocimiento sobre fast fashion y moda sostenible. El estudio se determinó que para la mayoría de los encuestados la principal motivación de compra es seguir las tendencias de moda y comprar en marcas reconocidas, la mayoría compran ropa cada 1 a 3 meses y gastan en promedio 550.000, estos resultados proporcionan una visión general de los hábitos de consumo, cuyos patrones están influenciados por el fenómeno del fast fashion.The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of fast fashion on climate change, to understand the practices and dynamics of the fast fashion industry. The objective was based on analyzing the impact of Fast Fashion on the acceleration of climate change towards sustainable fashion in the Colombian textile industry. The methodology used consisted of a quantitative approach with a descriptive non-experimental design, the data collection instrument applied was the survey aimed at people between 18 and 35 years old to understand their consumption habits and their knowledge about fast fashion and sustainable fashion. The study determined that for the majority of respondents the main purchasing motivation is to follow fashion trends and buy from recognized brands, the majority buy clothes every 1 to 3 months and spend on average 550,000, these results provide a vision general consumer habits, whose patterns are influenced by the fast fashion phenomenon

No full textLa investigación actual se centra en mejorar los procesos de convivencia entre los estudiantes de quinto grado de la Institución Educativa Santa Isabel, ubicada en el municipio de Montería, mediante la implementación de una estrategia pedagógica que utilice tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC). La pregunta de investigación se formula de la siguiente manera: ¿De qué manera se pueden mejorar los procesos de convivencia en los estudiantes de quinto grado de la Institución Educativa Santa Isabel a través de una estrategia pedagógica? El objetivo principal de esta investigación es desarrollar una estrategia pedagógica apoyada en el uso de Tics, con el propósito de fortalecer los procesos de convivencia de los estudiantes de quinto grado de dicha institución. Para alcanzar este objetivo general, se han establecido varios objetivos específicos: primero, realizar un diagnóstico de las prácticas de convivencia en el grupo de quinto grado mediante una prueba diagnóstica inicial; segundo, identificar las variables que influyen negativamente en la convivencia de estos estudiantes; tercero, recopilar y analizar los elementos claves que pueden contribuir al fortalecimiento de la convivencia escolar; y finalmente, diseñar una estrategia pedagógica basada en TICs, concretamente a través del desarrollo de una aplicación móvil, que permita mejorar estos procesos de convivencia. La metodología de la investigación sigue un enfoque cuantitativo, con un estudio de tipo descriptivo que facilita la recolección y análisis de datos para comprender a fondo el fenómeno en cuestión. La población estudiada estuvo compuesta por 39 estudiantes de quinto grado de la Institución Educativa Santa Isabel. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la estrategia pedagógica implementada es efectiva, destacando cómo los procesos de convivencia en estos estudiantes pueden ser mejorados significativamente mediante la aplicación de una estrategia pedagógica basada en TICs, específicamente a través de una aplicación móvil.The current research focuses on improving the coexistence processes among fifth grade students of the Santa Isabel Educational Institution, located in the municipality of Monteria, through the implementation of a pedagogical strategy that uses information and communication technologies (ICT). The research question is formulated as follows: How can the coexistence processes in fifth grade students of the Santa Isabel Educational Institution be improved through a pedagogical strategy? The main objective of this research is to develop a pedagogical strategy supported by the use of ICTs, with the purpose of strengthening the coexistence processes of fifth grade students of said institution. To achieve this general objective, several specific objectives have been established: first, to carry out a diagnosis of the coexistence practices in the fifth grade group through an initial diagnostic test; second, to identify the variables that negatively influence the coexistence of these students; third, to collect and analyze the key elements that can contribute to strengthening school coexistence; and finally, to design a pedagogical strategy based on ICTs, specifically through the development of a mobile application, which allows improving these coexistence processes. The research methodology follows a quantitative approach, with a descriptive study that facilitates the collection and analysis of data to fully understand the phenomenon in question. The population studied was composed of 39 fifth grade students from the Santa Isabel Educational Institution. No full textEl objetivo de este artículo fue examinar la implementación de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en los medios publicitarios, explorando su efecto en la adaptación, mejora y efectividad de campañas. Se aplicó un enfoque que mostró análisis de datos, publicidad programática, generación de contenido, optimización de campañas, interacción con el usuario, transformación de contenidos, personalización y segmentación, y estrategias digitales. Los resultados demostraron un uso limitado en el sector local en Panamá lleno de un futuro de oportunidades, sin embargo, los hallazgos revelaron que la aplicación de la IA enfrenta retos como la regulación y percepción en la aplicación de la automatización inteligente. De igual forma se revelaron en el sector publicitario local con dificultades en la competencia aumentada, visión profesional y efectividad mediante sistemas cognitivos inteligentes. La investigación concluyó a pesar de esta transformación de nuevos avances, es importante aprovechar al máximo la inteligencia artificial en los medios publicitarios.The objective of this article was to examine the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in advertising media, exploring its effect on the adaptation, improvement and effectiveness of campaigns. An approach was applied that showed data analysis, programmatic advertising, content generation, campaign optimization, user interaction, content transformation, personalization and segmentation, and digital strategies. The results showed a limited use in the local sector in Panama filled with a future of opportunities, however, the findings revealed that the application of AI faces challenges such as regulation and perception in the application of intelligent automation. Similarly revealed in the local advertising sector with difficulties in increased competition, professional vision and effectiveness through intelligent cognitive systems. Feasibility analysis and challenges for the establishment of a Boneless Industry in Panama
No full textEste artículo tuvo como objetivo evaluar la factibilidad de establecer una industria marítima deshuesadero en Panamá. Se llevó a cabo una investigación documental exhaustiva y un análisis FODA para examinar los aspectos económicos, ambientales y regulatorios del sector. Los resultados revelaron que Panamá posee ventajas significativas debido a su ubicación estratégica y amplia experiencia marítima, pero enfrenta desafíos considerables en términos de regulación ambiental y competencia internacional. Se encontró que el desarrollo de esta industria deshuesadero podría generar beneficios económicos sustanciales y posicionar a Panamá como un centro de reciclaje marítimo regional líder. Se concluyó que, con una planificación meticulosa y un marco regulatorio sólido, Panamá tiene el potencial de desarrollar una industria marítima deshuesadero sostenible, innovadora y competitiva a nivel global.This article aimed to assess the feasibility of establishing a ship breaking industry, locally known as “deshuesadero marítimo”, in Panama. A comprehensive documentary research and SWOT analysis were conducted to examine the economic, environmental, and regulatory aspects of the sector. The results revealed that Panama has significant advantages due to its strategic location and extensive maritime expertise but faces considerable challenges in terms of environmental regulation and international competition. It was found that the development of this naval ship breaking industry could generate substantial economic benefits and position Panama as a leading regional maritime recycling hub. It was concluded that, with meticulous planning and a robust regulatory framework, Panama has the potential to develop a sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive ship breaking industry
Vibrations and their effects on the health of heavy equipment operators
No full textEn este proyecto de investigación se busca estudiar los efectos de las vibraciones en la salud de los trabajadores que operan equipo pesado. Las vibraciones son movimientos de oscilación rápidos y continuos que se producen en objetos o materiales respecto a su posición de equilibrio, pudiendo transmitirse al cuerpo humano o a alguna de sus partes. La frecuencia de vibración, que se expresa en ciclos por segundo, es decir, hertzios (Hz), afecta a la extensión con que se transmiten las vibraciones al cuerpo, tanto a las propias extremidades como al resto del organismo. El origen de las vibraciones de tipo laboral puede ser: maquinaria, herramientas manuales motores, vehículos, etc., debido a partes desequilibradas en movimiento, flujos turbulentos de fluidos, golpes de objetos, impulsos, choques, etc. Las vibraciones penetran en el organismo por las extremidades (vibraciones mano-brazo) o por el resto del cuerpo (vibraciones de cuerpo entero) por las extremidades inferiores o por estar sentado sobre una superficie que emite vibraciones pudiendo producir daños a la salud de los trabajadores expuestos a ellas. Efectos principales de las vibraciones en la salud de los trabajadores: dolores abdominales, dolores lumbares, problemas digestivos, dificultades urinarias, falta de equilibrio, trastornos visuales, dolores de cabeza, falta de sueño, etc. Las vibraciones afectan el confort, reduce la productividad y provoca trastornos en las funciones fisiológicas del hombre, dando lugar, en caso de una exposición intensa, a la aparición de enfermedades. Específicamente, este documento se centra en los factores de riesgos físicos (vibraciones) y sus efectos a la salud de los operadores de equipos pesados los cuales se encuentran expuestos a niveles de vibraciones durante toda su jornada de trabajo.This research project seeks to study the effects of vibrations on the health of workers who operate heavy equipment. Vibrations are rapid and continuous oscillation movements that occur in objects or materials with respect to their equilibrium position and can be transmitted to the human body or to some of its parts. The frequency of vibration, which is expressed in cycles per second, i.e. hertz (Hz), affects the extent to which vibrations are transmitted to the body, both to the limbs themselves and to the rest of the body. The origin of work-related vibrations can be: machinery, hand tools, engines, vehicles, etc., due to unbalanced moving parts, turbulent flows of fluids, blows from objects, impulses, shocks, etc. The vibrations enter the body through the extremities (hand-arm vibrations) or through the rest of the body (whole-body vibrations), through the lower extremities or by sitting on a surface that emits vibrations, which can cause damage to the health of the workers exposed to them. Main effects of vibrations on workers’ health: abdominal pain, low back pain, digestive problems, urinary difficulties, lack of balance, visual disturbances, headaches, lack of sleep, etc. Vibrations affect comfort, reduce productivity and cause disorders in the physiological functions of man, leading, in the event of intense exposure, to the appearance of diseases. Emotional Journeys: Exploring the cultural impact and Ulysses Syndrome in the immigration experience in Panama
No full textEl presente estudio se adentra en las experiencias de jóvenes inmigrantes en Panamá, utilizando un enfoque psicológico para comprender cómo han sobrellevado las complejidades del impacto cultural. Los hallazgos revelan que los jóvenes inmigrantes experimentan un proceso de adaptación desafiante, marcado por sentimientos de desarraigo, pérdida y soledad. El choque cultural, caracterizado por las, costumbres, valores y estilos de vida, genera dificultades para integrarse en la nueva sociedad. La nostalgia por su cultura de origen, la pérdida de vínculos sociales y familiares exacerban estas dificultades, también el estudio identifica la discriminación y la xenofobia como factores que agravan la situación de la población de estudio. En este contexto, el Síndrome de Ulises emerge como una realidad palpable para los jóvenes participantes. Los síntomas característicos de este síndrome, como el estrés crónico, la despersonalización, la desvalorización de la identidad y el deseo de regresar al hogar se manifiestan con claridad en sus narrativas. Los hallazgos de este estudio contribuyen significativamente a una mejor comprensión de los desafíos psicosociales que enfrentan los inmigrantes desde una perspectiva psicológica, la investigación resalta la necesidad de desarrollar intervenciones psicológicas específicas para atender a las necesidades de esta población, con un enfoque en la promoción de la resiliencia, el apoyo social y el abordaje de la discriminación.This study delves into the experiences of immigrant youth in Panama, using a psychological approach to understand how they have coped with the complexities of culture shock. The findings reveal that immigrant youth experience a challenging adaptation process, marked by feelings of uprootedness, loss and loneliness. Culture shock, characterized by customs, values and lifestyles, creates difficulties in integrating into the new society. Nostalgia for their culture of origin, loss of social and family ties exacerbate these difficulties, and the study also identifies discrimination and xenophobia as factors that aggravate the situation of the study population. In this context, the Ulysses Syndrome emerges as a palpable reality for the young participants. The characteristic symptoms of this syndrome, such as chronic stress, depersonalization, devaluation of identity and the desire to return home are clearly manifested in their narratives. The findings of this study contribute significantly to a better understanding of the psychosocial challenges faced by immigrants from a psychological perspective, the research highlights the need to develop specific psychological interventions to address the needs of this population, with a focus on promoting resilience, social support, and addressing discrimination
Impact of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine in the hypertensive older adult patient: A literature review
No full textLa vacuna del Neumococo conjugado ha mostrado una alta efectividad en la prevención de enfermedades neumocócicas en adultos mayores. Estudios clínicos han demostrado una reducción significativa en la incidencia de neumonía bacterémica y no bacterémica entre los adultos mayores vacunados en comparación con los no vacunados (Smith et al., 2019). Además, la vacunación se ha asociado con una disminución en la incidencia de bacteriemia y meningitis neumocócica en esta población (Jones et al., 2020). Las infecciones neumocócicas causadas por Streptococcus pneumoniae son una preocupación importante para la población de edad avanzada, que es particularmente susceptible a enfermedades infecciosas debido a la disminución de la función inmune relacionada con la edad. Estas infecciones pueden provocar complicaciones graves, como neumonía, meningitis e infecciones del torrente sanguíneo, lo que provoca altas tasas de mortalidad entre los adultos mayores. En respuesta a este desafío de salud pública, la vacuna neumocócica conjugada se ha convertido en una medida preventiva crucial para proteger a los pacientes de edad avanzada contra las infecciones neumocócicas.The Pneumococcus conjugate vaccine has shown high effectiveness in preventing pneumococcal diseases in older adults. Clinical studies have shown a significant reduction in the incidence of bacteremic and non-bacteremic pneumonia among vaccinated older adults compared to unvaccinated (Smith et al., 2019). Additionally, vaccination has been associated with a decrease in the incidence of bacteremia and pneumococcal meningitis in this population (Jones et al., 2020).
