DETECTING A NEW APPROACH TO REVIVE DYSTOPIAN PARANOID SITES
Until the nineteenth century, space delineation was tied only to the architectural norm, and even now, space is considered as a fundamental area that provide a safe and shelter for its user. Architecture historically has evolved significantly, altering the way people perceive space. Anciently, world civilization used to pay great attention in portraying semiotic of spatial experience in their architectural practices. Back when reflecting moods in architecture was part of utilization of the function. Moreover, Civilization has revolutionized the means of spatial delineation due to new trends in technological evolution. Therefore, to comprehend this association, the studies can distinguish how the remaining physical remnants of advanced civilizations are reflecting the social and scientific development of an era. In our contemporary world, this trail of thinking is replaced by architecture that do not connect with the user’s psychology. Hence, politics in architecture has sustained to be that major womb for dystopian psychologic paranoia between user and space. The problem is that the architectural spatial composition has been subjected to obsolescent acts of war and deterioration, nullifying the presence of user’s psychology, and turning them into “paranoid spaces”, which become a major source of social and psychological disruption to its surrounding context. The aim of this paper is to produces a new spatial experience with which users can be injected, as a new approach in the amelioration to scarred spaces within paranoid cities. This Paper will use a scientific methodology that starts by investigating paranoid scarred places and infrastructure in a socio-political analysis of a case study, Starting by. Seeking for a design strategy that confronts the regeneration of a new spatial delineation ideology of amelioration in a new contemporary trend, that would polarize the sanctuary equating a new paradigm of architectural and transcendence to the lives of its habitants

THE FEASIBILITY OF USING A PHENOMENOLOGICAL APPROACH TO EXPLICATE THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING-IN-COMMUNITY: EXPERIENCE OF REVIVING THE MARINE HERITAGE IN BAHRAIN
The strategic location of Bahrain and its wealthy marine and coastal environment were the main drivers for the country’s flourishment before the discovery of oil. For a long time, Bahrain has functioned as a pioneer maritime trade center and represented a significant trade transit route between the east and west that transfers the affluent marine productions. This mainly formed an eminent cultural heritage for the country reflected within its inveterate maritime history and the authentic bond between the Bahraini grandparents and the sea. Unfortunately, along with the life evolution, this bond became weak and the biodiversity of the country’s marine life and coastal environment become threatened due to different human harmful practices such as irregular fishing patterns, waste thrown into the sea, etc.
These problems are majorly caused by the low awareness level of humans toward the marine environment and are mainly pressuring and deteriorating its biodiversity while also negatively affecting its sustainability by limiting its creature’s growth and polluting its sea. Therefore, the responsibility of reconnecting the public with marine life and increasing their level of awareness on such issues is ours. This research paper will mainly address the connection between the Bahraini people, sea, and port by touching its history and current environmental situation. It also suggests and analyzes the feasibility of using the phenomenological approach as a solution for developing a new marine seafront heritage in Bahrain whis is an approach that mainly creates existential spaces through sensory qualities which are the vision, audial, touch, hearing, taste, and smell, which therefore evokes a more emotional experience while also considering the post pandemic effect of the public space.
The research will also address a questionnaire survey that was conducted with 150 people living in Bahrain to investigate the psychological and social behaviors, and demands of Bahrain’s community to determine the importance of developing such areas within the country as centers that revive marine life and raises a public call for saving and preserving the marine life, to ensures that these traditional maritime practices are passed to the future generation along with a more appropriate marine environmental condition
DISASTER AND SOCIO-CULTURAL IMPACT: BETWEEN SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS AND RESILIENCECATASTROPHE ET IMPACT SOCIO-CULTUREL: ENTRE REPRÉSENTATIONS SOCIALES ET RÉSILIENCE
Abstract: We live in a constantly changing world, a multi-faceted world vacillating between joy and happiness on one side and sadness and desolation on the other. We have indeed witnessed, recently, much sadness and misfortune resulting from both human and natural disasters. Whether individual or collective, the risks are assessed having regard to our cultural determinism, taking into account values, standards and living conditions of individuals. Our purpose, which falls within the framework of the theory of social representations (Moscovici (1986)), would be to account for the impact of the disaster on the behavior of the individual and of society, by asking ourselves the following questions: How do we perceive the disaster? What behavior do we adopt in the face of a disaster? and how does culture lead to resilience?
INVESTIGATION OF THE EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL FLEXURAL BEHAVIOR OF INNOVATIVE TOTALLY ENCASED COMPOSITE BEAMS
Composite steel-concrete beams have been widely used in long span construction and high rise buildings due to their favorable behavior in terms of high strength, stiffness, and ductility. In this research, the flexural behavior of an innovative steel-concrete composite section is investigated experimentally and verified numerically using ABAQUS software. The studied section is composed of steel tubular specimen or steel hollow pipe totally encased in concrete in the absence of any flexural or shear reinforcement. Instead, steel mesh wraps are used around the tubular steel specimen to provide sufficient steel-concrete bond. All of the studied beams have the same 3m length and T-section dimensions to provide adequate comparison of results. The influence of using different percentages of steel mesh wraps around the steel specimen and the structural steel shape effect on the failure mode and ultimate flexural capacity were investigated. It was found that the ABAQUS model has provided excellent simulation of the flexural response of the studied beams with acceptable difference in results as compared to those obtained from experimental testing. Besides, the presence of steel mesh wraps at highly compressive damaged locations have prevented concrete spalling and crushing in these zones by ensuring sufficient steel-concrete bond
THE OTTOMAN CONSTITUTIONAL EXPERIENCE UNDER SULTAN ABDEL HAMID II (1876-1909)التجربة الدستورية العثمانية في عهد السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني 1876-1909
ABSTRACT: The research discusses “the Ottoman constitutional experience under the rule of Sultan Abdul Hamid II 1876-1909”. The “Mabouthan Council” or the parliament and the Senate were established under the said rule. The Ottoman Constitution was issued in 1876, to be the first constitution recorded in the Ottoman State. Thus, Sultan Abdul Hamid II was the first Ottoman sultan who modernized the Ottoman State, its organizations and mandate from traditional organizations and legislations, thus opening up to western organizations while maintaining the Islamic Sharia.
It is worth mentioning that the opposition forces of soldiers and civilians, Turkish and other nationalities, made use of the issuance of the Ottoman constitution. The opposition, represented by “the Committee of Union and Progress”, “Le Jeune Turc” or “Young Turk” entered several plots in cooperation with the European countries, the Zionist Movement, the Jews and Masonry to revolt against Sultan Abdul Hamid II. The Sultan had refused the establishment of Jewish settlements as a fore-runner to the establishment of a Jewish State in Palestine, alleging compliance with the Ottoman constitution. In fact, these forces launched a military revolution in 1908 followed by the dethroning of Sultan Abdul Hamid II in 1909.
These facts are confirmed and evidenced in the British, Ottoman, European, American and Arab diplomatic and consular documents. The goal of the 1908 Revolution and the dethroning of the Sultan in 1909 did not aim at reinstating the Ottoman constitution or to reach an Ottoman union or an ottoman-Arab progress. Rather, the main goal of both the revolution and the dethroning was to transfer the Ottoman State into a secular state that has nothing to do with the Islamic religion, hence facilitating the immigration of Jews to Palestine and establishing a Jewish State on the Holy Land of Palestine.
(Committee of Union and Progress)
MAINTAINING ROOT CANAL CURVATURES AFTER PREPARATION WITH DIFFERENT NICKEL-TITANIUM ROTARY SYSTEMS (A COMPARATIVE IN VITRO STUDY)
The ongoing advancement of materials and methods for root canal instrumentation is resulting in improved techniques with minimal variations to the canal morphology. One standard for assessment of the shaping quality of curved root canals is preparation-induced straightening of the canal. The aim of the study: To compare the effects of 2 Nickel-Titanium rotary systems, 2Shape (Micro-Mega, Besançon, France) and ProTaper Next (Dentsply,Sirona, Ballaigues, Switzerland), on maintaining the distobuccal canals curvature of extracted human maxillary molar teeth using periapical radiographs. Materials and methods: In this study a total of 26 distobuccal roots of upper maxillary molars were used and divided into 2 groups: Group 1 (n=13) root canals prepared with 2Shape system (TS1, TS2) (Micro-Mega, Besançon, France) and Group 2 (n=13) root canals prepared with ProTaper Next (X1, X2) (Dentsply,Sirona, Ballaigues, Switzerland). A buccolingual radiograph was taken for every sample before and after instrumentation in the same position, and the postoperative angle of curvature was measured with the Image J Software and the same principle of the method of Schneider. The post instrumentation curvature degree was subtracted from the pre instrumentation curvature degree and these results represented the degree of straightening. Result: P\u3c 0.05 was significant for ProTaper Next and 2Shape. 2Shape respected better the curvature angulations than ProTaper Next. Conclusion: Selection of the instruments has an important influence on the respect of the root canal curvature angulations
EXPLORING CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT IN TWO PRIVATE HOSPITALS IN KUWAIT
The private hospital industry in Kuwait is an important contributor in the economy of the country. There has been a major increase in the number of private hospitals and clinics in the past four years, and more hospitals are launching new services in the private healthcare sector. In order to succeed in this sector, it is important for an organization to focus on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for thriving in the competitive market. A customer relationship management strategy is believed to give a competitive edge to hospitals, as customers nowadays make their decisions based on the type and strength of the relationships that they have with their service providers. Due to the nature of hospital environment, the products and services offered are merely the same in most of the private hospitals. Therefore, in order to differentiate the services offered, CRM should be implemented in hospitals seeking the delivery of high service quality for both its internal and external customers. The quality of the delivered services is reliant on one of the most crucial elements in any service organization structure hence, the employees. Other elements such as processes and technology are also vital for a successful the implementation of CRM.
The objective of this research is to explore the Customer Relationship Management strategy development and implementation by examining the components that lead to successful implementation in two private hospitals in Kuwait. The researcher used the qualitative method through conducting in-depth interviews with management staff and other respective middle and lower management in AlSeef and Royale Hayat private hospitals. The study analyzes the primary data collected using a computer software called NVIVO, v.10. The dimensions of CRM strategy and implementation, which were proven in previous research, were assessed in this study. The researcher concluded that the two private hospitals researched developed a CRM strategy to encapsulate CRM among their business strategies; however, they have weaknesses in implementation in some of the dimensions. This research helped in defining a new dimension to fill this weakness observed, which is CRM strategic aligning
EXPLORING A NEW DESIGN APPROACH TO REVIVE THE DAMAGED HERITAGE BUILDINGS IN POST-DISASTER CITIES
Heritage is the inherited past; it is what evokes a nostalgic sense of tradition or history. In built environment, it’s meant to note the structures, buildings or urban areas that are of historic, aesthetic, architectural or cultural significance. Heritage buildings may be considered as the most permanent method by which cultures of civilizations are remembered. Disasters, whether natural or manmade, are usually accompanied with physical destruction, property damage, deaths, injuries and leaving so many homeless. The result is a downfall on social and economic levels. Typically, this leaves the community vulnerable, making it urgent to rebuild and heal the damaged society. This researches argues damaged heritage buildings are not passive victims to be rescued but an active agent providing resilience to post-disaster cities. For this novel study, the research aims to propose a new design approach to revive the damaged heritage buildings in post disaster cities. To achieve this aim, the research will first start with reviewing the literature by analysing similar examples. The second part will focus on the case study: Beirut in the aftermath of the explosion. As a conclusion, a mixed approach of restoration, adaptive re-formation and engaging social connectivity can revive the heritage, ensure remembrance, help overcome the blast and rebuild city resilience
EXTENSIVE DESCRIPTIVE LITERATURE REVIEW REVEALING THE IMPACT OF BANKING SECRECY ON MONEY LAUNDERING: PROMINENCE ON THE LEBANESE BANKING SECTOR
Worldwide financial institutions face complexity in balancing between business ethical standards on one hand, and the act of competitiveness on the other hand. Thus, while selecting their customers they seek customers that lead them to the optimum position of competitiveness in the market, taking into consideration the act of financial investigation to avoid money launderer customers. Money launderer customers seek to deal with financial institutions to proceed with operating their financial crimes. Therefore, this paper spots the light on “money laundering” alongside with the impact of banking secrecy on money laundering with prominence on the Lebanese banking sector. Thus, in this paper, researchers present an extensive descriptive literature review that discuss in depth prior fundamental studies published since 1970 when banking secrecy was introduced until year 2018. Research limitations and future recommendations are provided at the end of this paper
