The purpose of this study is to provide a solution on how to establish the branch's right to legal rest within the framework of the procedural provisions of the branch's right to legal rest in the event of a conflict of interest between the union headquarters and the branch that held the general assembly subject to annulment in the lawsuit filed for the annulment of the union branch general assembly, decisions taken and elections held. The party to the annulment lawsuits to be filed for the branch general assembly is the union, which is a private law legal entity. Since the branch does not have legal personality, it cannot be a party to the lawsuit. Unions may engage in behaviors that will neutralize the branch that opposes them. This is contrary to internal union democracy. Limited to the cases where there is a conflict of interest between the union and its branch, it has been adopted by judicial decisions and defended in the doctrine that the branch should be given the right to defend itself in the lawsuit despite its lack of legal personality. In the event that the union headquarters does not use the necessary means of defense, the branch should be given the opportunity to express that its general assembly or transaction is in accordance with the law. How this right can be exercised within the procedural provisions is discussed in this study and evaluated together with the judicial decisions.

This study is a cross-sectional quantitative research that aims to investigate the effects on the factors that lead them to make informal payments and their informal payment attitudes of individuals' health-related perceptions. The population of the research consists of adult individuals aged 18 and over who live in Hatay. Simple random sampling method was used in the research, the survey method was applied to 400 individual on a voluntary basis. As data collection tools in the research; personal information form, Health Perception Scale, Scale for Determining the Factors That Lead to Making Informal Payments and Scale for Determining Attitudes towards Informal Payments were used. Descriptive analyses, reliability analysis, normality tests, independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, linear regression and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to obtain the results. The Tukey- HSD test, one of the post-hoc multiple comparison tests, was used to determine differences in the analysis results. It can be seen from the research results that the average score of the Health Perception Scale mean scores (ort:50,09 Min:32-Max:72), Scale for Determining the Factors That Lead to Making Informal Payments mean scores (mean:2,5 Min1-Max:4,94) and Scale for Determining Attitudes Towards Informal Payments are (mean: 2.93, Min: 1.94-Max: 4.25) at a medium level. Factors that lead to making informal payments, attitudes towards informal payments and individuals' health perceptions; it was determined that there was a significant difference according to demographic characteristics and their opinions about informal payment (p <0.05). It was found that there were significant relationships between the factors that led to making informal payments, attitudes towards informal payments, and individuals' health perceptions (p<0.05). As the factors that lead to informal payments increase, the attitude towards informal payments will also increase; it has been determined that by increasing the perception of health in individuals, the factors that lead them to make informal payments will decrease. vi Individuals' health perceptions significantly explained 8% of the factors that lead to making informal payments; it was determined that the control center sub-dimension of health perception negatively affected the factors that lead to making informal payments in a statistically significant way. Individuals' health perceptions significantly explained 5.4% of attitudes towards informal payments; the control center sub-dimension of health perception negatively affects individuals' attitudes towards informal payments; it is seen that the importance of health sub-dimension positively affected individuals' attitudes towards informal payments in a statistically significant way. Some of the individuals; consider that informal payment is unlawful, unethical, morally wrong, tantamount to corruption and will lead to professional corruption; some of them stated that they resorted to informal payments because they wanted to receive fast and quality service, not to wait in line, to be examined by a well-known doctor, to receive special attention, and because they were afraid of not receiving full healthcare. It is thought that informal payments will decrease with the changing of health perceptions that lead individuals to make such payments and the health policy measures to be taken

Ensemble learning based lung and colon cancer classification with pre-trained deep neural networks

    No full text
PurposeLung and colon cancer are among the most common cancer types with the highest mortality rates worldwide. In recent years, studies have been carried out on the early diagnosis and detection of lung cancer and colon cancer. Also, new treatment methods and options have been investigated. With the development of early diagnostic methods, the survival rate of patients has increased. Therefore, in this study, a transfer learning-based deep ensemble learning model is proposed for the classification of lung and colon cancer from histopathological images.MethodsExperiments were carried out on the LC25000 dataset with the proposed approach. DenseNet121, InceptionV3, MobileNet, ResNet50, ResNet101, VGG16, and Xception models were used for transfer learning. These models were implemented with different variations for ensemble learning.ResultsIt is seen that the most successful transfer learning model is the InceptionV3 model, and the ResNet101 model has the lowest performance. The DETL_V1 model, in which all models were used, was the most successful model with an accuracy rate of 99.78%.ConclusionBy focusing on top models and using ensemble learning to combine their predictions, better performance was obtained compared to any single model on its own. Obtaining a more robust and generalizable model was achieved by combining multiple models that are trained on different subsets of the data with different architectures. The results proved that the proposed approach is supportive for decision in clinical diagnosis processes

Determination of yield nutrient contents and in vitro digestibility of some triticale varieties harvested at different maturity stages

    No full text
The aim of this study was to determine the contribution of growth performance, nutrient content, and digestibility of different triticale varieties to ruminant diets and to indirectly assist farmers in feed production. The experiment utilized five triticale varieties. The study was designed as a randomized complete block design with split plots and three replications. The digestibility values were determined in vitro after 48 h of incubation using an Ankom Daisy II incubator. Rumen liquid was obtained from dairy cows slaughtered at the Ye & scedil;il Vadi Meat Integrated Facility. Nutrient values, in vitro dry matter digestibility, and yield traits of forages were measured. The highest levels of dry matter and organic matter were observed during the physiological maturity stage, followed by the dough and milk development stages (p 0.05). Therefore, it is believed that triticale varieties can provide highly digestible forage and grain feed for ruminants if the harvesting time is well managed

Purpose (6)-Shogaol is the most prevalent bioactive compound in ginger. The aim of this study was to examine both the prophylactic and therapeutic effects of (6)-shogaol in an experimental periodontitis model. Materials and Methods Thirty-five male Wistar albino rats were divided into four groups. In the healthy group (n=5), no intervention was undertaken. In the periodontitis group (n=10), periodontitis was induced by ligature placement for 14 days. In the prophylaxis group (n=10), periodontitis was induced with ligature placement for 14 days, and during this time, 20 mg/kg/day of (6)-shogaol was administered via oral gavage. In the therapeutic group (n=10), periodontitis was induced with ligature placement for 14 days, and following the removal of the ligature, 20 mg/kg/day of (6)-shogaol was administered via oral gavage for 14 days. Alveolar bone loss was histometrically measured, and malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GP), nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa B), receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL), and osteoprotegerin (OPG) were immunohistochemically analyzed. Results Alveolar bone loss was significantly lower in the healthy group than in the remaining groups, as well as in the therapeutic group than in the periodontitis group (p<0.001). RANKL/OPG was significantly higher in the periodontitis group compared to the remaining groups and in the prophylaxis group compared to the therapeutic group (p<0.001). MDA was significantly lower in the healthy group than in the remaining groups (p<0.001). SOD was significantly lower in the periodontitis group than in the prophylaxis and therapeutic groups (p=0.039 and p=0.042, respectively). GP was significantly lower in the healthy group than in the prophylaxis and therapeutic groups (p=0.031 and p=0.002, respectively). Conclusion The administration of (6)-shogaol modulated the RANKL/OPG balance and antioxidant status in rats with ligature-induced periodontitis.TUBIdot;TAK Starting R&D Projects Support Programme (3001); [217S332]This study were supported by TUB & Idot;TAK Starting R&D Projects Support Programme (3001) (Project no: 217S332)

Prevalence of Pancreatic Steatosis and Its Associated Factors in Turkey: A Nation-Wide Multicenter Study

    No full text
Background/Aims: Pancreatic steatosis (PS) is a pathology associated with metabolic syndrome (MS), endocrin and exocrine disfunctions of the pancreas, and fatty liver. The data on the frequency of PS are very limited. We aimed to evaluate the frequency of PS detected by transabdominal ultrasonography (TAU) in gastroenterology clinics located in different geographical regions of Turkey and the factors associated with it. Materials and Methods: Volunteers were evaluated by TAU for PS and hepatosteatosis (HS), and its degree. Pancreatic stiffness was evaluated by ultrasonographic shear wave elastography (SWE). All demographic, physical, and biochemical parametres were measured. Results: A total of 1700 volunteers from 14 centers throughout Turkey were included in the study. Mean age was 48.03 +/- 20.86 years (56.9% female). Prevalance of PS was detected in 68.9%. In the PS group, age, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose (FBG), lipid levels, insulin resistance, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, MS frequency, and pancreatic SWE score were increasing, and fecal elastase level was decreasing in correlation with the degree of PS. The frequency of HS was 55.5%. Hepatosteatosis [odds ratio (OR): 9.472], increased age (OR: 1.02), and BMI (OR: 1.089) were independent risk factors for the occurrence of PS. Lean -PS rate was 11.8%. The lean -PS group was predominantly female and younger than non -lean PS. Also it has lower blood pressure, FBG, liver enzymes, lipid levels, and HS rates. Conclusion: The frequency of PS was found 68.9% in Turkey. Its relationship was determined with age, BMI, HS, MS (and its components), pancreatic stiffness, and fecal elastase level
