Practical research of teaching cast sculpture in a high school specialized art department
application/pdfSculptures cast in a variety of metals, including bronze, are beautiful. Not only do they show the characteristics of the original works, but they are also full of potential to create new value through the aesthetic appeal of the metal's unique luster and strength, and above all, through the acquisition of durability that is difficult to achieve with other materials. The aim of this study was to verify the casting technique using low-melting-point alloys based on practical production research for cast sculpture expression that is feasible in the learning environment of a high school art course, and to provide a reference for future art education.departmental bulletin pape
Development of Stepper Motor Control Systems. Motion-Kinetic-Build System
application/pdfWe built a system to control multiple stepper motors for kinetic art. It can be used in media art and kinetic art. This system is built with Arduino and can be easily ustomized. It is possible to control multiple stepper motors from one master Arduino. It is also possible to control the master Arduino from a PC.departmental bulletin pape
Development of motor control support software
application/pdfTo control motors and move objects with a computer, it is necessary to design electronic circuits and program movements, which is a technical hurdle for students of design and art.
In this study, we developed software to support the creation of kinetic art. The software employs keyframe-based operations used in normal animation production, and allows the user to set the winding speed and timing graphically. In addition, the position of the hoisting point and the shape of the hoisting object can be freely changed, and settings can be made while confirming them in a 3D simulation. This makes it possible to move actual objects using operations similar to those used in normal animation production.
Kinetic art works created using this software were presented at an exhibition and feedback was obtained from the audience.departmental bulletin pape
Artist in Residence for Disclosing the Sensation of Artists : Projecting Arts into the Town
application/pdfThis paper has reported some activities in 2021 of ‘Arts-Based Research labo & HANGA studio ‘KOBO KONOSK’’ established in June 2020. Among the various activities, this report focuses in particular on the Artist-in-residence. We have invited three artists to stay and disclose their creative practices. As a result, we found out that projecting art into the region does not mean integrating art activities into the solution of local problems. It is important that both the citizens and the artists themselves undergo a generative transformation by putting themselves in the middle of what happens there.departmental bulletin pape
Expression by the old lenses 2022
application/pdfIn 2022, the fight against the new coronavirus continues all over the world. Although desperate new drug development and preventive measures have been taken with the wisdom of humankind, the values we have built up continue to fluctuate significantly. Although in an emergency, cultural activities such as holding art exhibitions are ecovering. Art activities, such as the announcement of the production of works of art, are being resumed, albeit with many restrictions. Under these circumstances, I conducted expression research on the theme that continued from last year. I would like to report it below.departmental bulletin pape
Development of Pencil Rubber Illusion Machine
application/pdfThere is a play in which the pencil appears to be bent. You hold the pencil between your fingers and move it up and down. We have developed a machine that reproduces this behavior. By reproducing optical illusions with machines, it is possible to apply them to art and investigate the mechanism of optical illusions.departmental bulletin pape
Development of supplementary teaching materials to explain the seismic performance of buildings for elementary and junior high school students
application/pdfWe developed the supplementary teaching materials which explained the earthquake-resistant performance of architecture in elementary and junior high school students, and studied how to use this supplementary teaching materials. We carried out this method using the house model traditional wooden model in the architecture lecture for them. As a result, they were able to understand the system of earthquake-resistance very well. It is effective to experience the viceteaching materials and to assemble a house model repeatedly.departmental bulletin pape
