Kroz ovu prezentaciju predstavljeno je njeno bogato istraživačko i pisano stvaralaštvo, njena 24 nagrađena rada na "Nagradnim konkursima Saveza jevrejskih opština", te konačno i 22 objavljene knjige sa jevrejskim temama na srpskom, engleskom i hebrejskom jeziku.Video presentation about the life and work of the well-known and engaged Yugoslav-Serbian-Israeli journalist, writer and historian Zhenya Lebl. The presentation is imbued with inserts from an earlier video made in 2007, on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Jennie Lebel. It tells about her immediate family before World War II, her survival during the war, and her difficult life circumstances after the war. I na kraju do Novog Sada i porodice Tibor - Đerđa i Vere (rođenna Pesing). Njima su se 1939. godine rodile bliznakinje Eva i Mira. Drugi je svetski rat. Priča nas dalje uvodi u nepredvidive životne okolnosti koje su isprepletale životne sudbine ovih ljudi.The story in the text follows the lives of three persons born in various parts of the Balkans, from Slovenia in 1907, to a teacher's family in which a certain Roman Erich Petše was born, around 1880, and the Hungarian town of Kaposvár, where Berta Rosenšpitz was born. And finally to Novi Sad and the Tibor family - Đerđ and Vera (née Pesing) who gave birth to twins Eva and Mira in 1939. Everything happens during World War II. We will explore how this framework can provide a new tool for better encompassing and understanding of wide range of memory and representation practices we equate
the Holocaust with, from traumatic Holocaust survivor testimonies, historical, cultural and national memory politics, education practices, Jewish Churban, to numerous memorial and artistic production about the Holocaust, but also add to the debates around issues of (non)representability of the Shoah, ethical
imperatives of Holocaust memory and post-Holocaust thought. Our goal is to analyze how much this new platform is dependent on the digital turn, that is, how much of this change in perception of Holocaust memory can we find in the cultural paradigm change that came with ICT and digital technology. This digital turn in Holocaust memory is perceived in the increase of the amount of information about the Holocaust, social networks and social media culture-dominated landscape, the significance of digital archives, networking and
collaborative projects, image, video and text reproduction and appropriation, focus on interactivity and communication in education and memorial institutions. We will showcase how big historical and institutional narratives about the Holocaust gave way to the exchange of multitude of stories, opinions and perspectives. How do museum, memorial and school settings become entwined with online platforms and their digital
materials, and also in what way are those digital materials used, reproduced and changed? Further,
we will discuss how the third and fourth post-Holocaust generations are connected to this digital
turn in Holocaust memory and whether in their memory and representational practices we can
also find the communication turn

Get PDFOvo je glasnik lože B'nai B'rith (BB), udruge koja sa sjedištem u Zagrebu djeluje u Hrvatskoj kao jedna od mnogih osnovnih jedinica velike obitelji svjetske nevladine organizacije B'nai B'rith, što na hebrejskom znači "Sinovi zavjeta". Glasnik donosi vijesti o aktivnostima židovskih zajednica, kako u Hrvatskoj tako i u Izraelu i Europi. Namjera izdavača je da glasnik izlazi četiri puta godišnje. Izlazi samo u elektronskom obliku. Ovaj posebni broj objavljen je povodom Dvadeset i sedmog siječnja - godišnjice oslobođenja ozloglašenog nacističkog koncentracionog logora Auschwitz. Taj dan proglašen je Međunarodnim danom sjećanja na žrtve Holokausta. Prošlo je 76 godina od oslobođenja tog logora, no sjećanja na strahote Holokausta i na šest miliona stradalih Židova i dalje su težak teret na savijesti čovječanstva. Toga dana nastojimo poslati opomenu cijeloj svjetskoj javnosti, da se takvi zločini više nikada ne smiju dogoditi. Tom prilikom i s tim ciljem objavljuju se i još manje poznate činjenice o raznim stradanjima i tužnim sudbinama u Holokaustu. U ovom posebnom broju našeg Glasnika donosimo do sada nepoznatu sudbinu grupe sarajevskih Židova među kojima je bio i Avram Levi Sadić, predratni vlasnik tvornice čarapa "Ključ". Priču o njegovom skrivanju i stradanju od ustaša i Nijemaca u zločinačkoj NDH, kao i o potrazi za njegovim posmrtnim ostacima za naš list napisala je njegova rođakinja Berta Zekić-Belson koja danas živi u Izraelu.This is the VOICE of the Lodge B'nai B'rith (BB), an association based in Zagreb that operates in Croatia as one of the many basic units of the large family of the world NGO B'nai B'rith, which in Hebrew means "Sons of the Covenant". The newsletter brings news about the activities of Jewish communities, both in Croatia and in Israel and Europe. The publisher's intention is for the newsletter to be published four times a year. It is published only in electronic form. This special issue was published on the occasion of January 27 - the day of the liberation of the infamous Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. This day was declared as International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. It has been 76 years since the liberation of that camp, but memories of the horrors of the Holocaust and of the six million Jews who perished remain a heavy burden on the conscience of mankind. On that day, we are trying to send a warning to the entire world public, that such crimes must never happen again. On that occasion and with that goal, even less known facts about various sufferings and sad destinies in the Holocaust are being published. In this special issue of our Glasnik, we bring the hitherto unknown fate of a group of Sarajevo Jews, among whom was Avram Levi Sadić, the pre-war owner of the "Ključ" socks factory. Get PDFNa željezničkoj stanici vladala je gužva - bivši logoraši izlazili su iz voza, tu su im bile porodice i prijatelji. Pozdravljali su se, grlili, ljubili i plakali od sreće. Samo su Boško i Jelena nijemo posmatrali dok su ljudi prolazili, a oni nikako da ugledaju svoju Nadu. Kada su na stanici ostali samo oni i jedna djevojka sreću je zamijenio očaj. Ta djevojka im je prišla i upitala da li su oni Nadini roditelji. „Oprostite mi, molim vas. Nadu nemojte čekati. Mi smo bile drugarice, ona je umrla na mojim rukama, u bolnici u Trnovi. Ja sam doputovala iz zarobljeništva pod njenim imenom - tiho je izustila djevojka“. Ovaj događaj, uz zvanične podatke o Nadinoj smrti, jedino je što je profesorka sociologije iz Beograda Nada Banjanin Đuričić decenijama znala o svojoj tetki čije ime nosi, kao i o mladoj Jevrejki sa željezničke stanice. Gotovo pola vijeka kasnije, neobičnim spletom okolnosti, saznaće da je ta djevojka Tirca Ginzberg iz Gradačca i upoznati Tircinu kćerku Tamaru Herman...There was a crowd at the train station - former inmates were getting off the train, and their families and friends were there. They greeted each other, hugged, kissed and cried with happiness. Only Boško and Jelena watched silently as people passed, and they could not see their Nada. When only they and one girl were left at the station, despair replaced happiness. That girl approached them and asked if they were Nada's parents. "Forgive me, please." Don't wait Nada. We were friends, she died in my arms, in the hospital in Trnova. I came from captivity under her name - the girl said quietly". This event, along with the official information about Nada's death, is the only thing that a sociology professor from Belgrade Nada Banjanin Đuričić knew for decades about her aunt whose name she bears, as well as about the young Jewish woman from the train station. The Old Jewish cemetery in Split: where coexistence saved lives and shaped a city
No full textNa istočnoj padini brda Marjan, iza vrata zaključanih ključem, nalazi se Staro židovsko groblje - proglašeni spomenik kulture. Osnovano je 1573. godine, iste godine kada su se dogodili prvi ukopi. Najstarije je židovsko groblje na teritoriju Republike Hrvatske, a tako i izgleda. Popucale nadgrobne ploče, pomalo sasušena vegetacija, jednostavnost čistog kamena s hebrejskom kaligrafijom i zrake zalazećeg sunca koje se probijaju kroz borovu šumu daju mu rustikalne i nostalgične note. Danas se ovdje nalazi više od 700 grobova, uglavnom iz 18. i 19. stoljeća.On the eastern slope of Marjan Hill, behind a gate secured with a lock and key, lies the Old Jewish Cemetery, a designated cultural monument. It was established in 1573, the same year the first burials took place. It is the oldest Jewish cemetery on the territory of the Republic of Croatia - and it looks the part. Cracked headstones, sun-dried vegetation, the quiet simplicity of bare stone engraved with Hebrew calligraphy, and the soft rays of the setting sun filtering through the pine forest give the place a rustic, nostalgic charm. Palimpsest of persecution: overcoming anti-semitism in Olga Tokarchuk's "Books of Jacob"
Get PDFU fokusu rada nalazi se ispitivanje socio-političkog statusa Jevreja u romanu Olge Tokarčuk "Knjige Jakovlјeve". Jakovovlјeva sekta, na tragu šabatcvijskog učenja, u sebi hibridizuje judejsku i hrišćansku tradiciju ali i paganski, poliamorijski pristup seksualnom. Marginalizacija Jakovlјevih sledbenika posmatra se dvostruko: kroz versko otpadništvo od tradicionalnog judaizma ali i kroz nikad do kraja prihvaćenu uniju sa hrišćanima. Teorijski pristup problemu neodvojiv je od jungovskog arhetipa majke oličenog u figuri Jente, „one-koja-sve-vidi”, fukoovskog „poretka diskursa”, preko koga se daje tumačenje skrajnjavanja jakovlјevaca kroz teatralizaciju suđenja, dekonstrukcije binarnih opozicija muško/žensko, heteroseksualno/homoseksualno što istraživanje nužno vodi u domene ginokritike odnosno queer-istraživanja. Olga Tokarčuk, svedočeći o marginama u ovom obimnom, palimpsestnom romanu, sprovodi svojevrsnu strategiju prevladavanja antisemitizma.The focus of the paper is on examining the socio-political status of Jews in Olga Tokarchuk's novel Books of Jacob. Jacob's sect, following the Sabbath teaching, hybridizes the Jewish and Christian traditions, but also the pagan, polyamorous approach to sexuality. The marginalization of Jacob's followers is viewed in two ways: through religious apostasy from traditional Judaism, but also through a union with Christians that have never been fully accepted. The theoretical approach to the problem is inseparable from the Jungian archetype of the mother embodied in the figure of Jenta, the “one-who-sees-everything”, and Foucault's “Order of discourse”, which provides the interpretation of the extinction of Jacobites through the theatricalization of trials and the deconstruction of binary oppositions, which necessarily leads this research into the domains of gynocriticism or queer research. By formally placing a man in the center of her novel, after whom it is named, the author places a woman, Jenta, in the outer margins of the work. She represents the essential support for the Jacobites - both emotional, for life, and mythical, after death.
