Caste Identities in Bharathibalan's Works
Get PDFIn Indian society, caste itself is a mixture of class and caste. This caste-based social system consists of a structure of highs and lows, sanctity, and impurity. During the feudal period, there was a tendency to be a slave to the ruling and then to the majority of the people as a minority. In this work, we can see the domination of the people and in particular the brutal exploitation of the poor and downtrodden towards caste. Such exploitation is not only caste-based but also class-based exploitation and is suppressed by the dominant castes when they have agitated somewhere. In this, the majority of the people began to suppress the minorities without any reason. The reason is that the minority people are submerged in the land of the majority. It is not an event that happened today but a tradition that continues. The reason is that the minorities who are soiled with the soil are not relieved from their bonds, instead, they are suppressed. No matter how much they struggle to come out of this with gains for themselves, they have not been able to subvert the dominant caste system to date. The state and parties cooperate with these dominant castes. The study highlights the status of casteism, identity, the voice of rebellion, and the problems it may cause to society, especially women. The study also highlights the subjugation of human beings, the subjection of untouchability, and the subjection of minorities to economic and social problems. Through this work, the researcher has explained in detail and clearly, with sufficient supporting evidence, that the dominant castes of caste identity and materialism found in Bharathibalan's works continue to succeed
