Governor Oliver Ames III
Portrait of Oliver Ames III, son of Oakes and Eveline Orville (Gilmore) Ames. Born in North Easton, Massachusetts on February 4, 1831, he married Anna Coffin Ray on March 14, 1860. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts for one term from 18821885 and as Governor of Massachusetts from 1886-1888. he died on October 22, 1895.
