A Bayesian Model-Averaged Meta-Analysis of the Power Pose Effect with Informed and Default Priors: The Case of Felt Power
No full textCarney, Cuddy, and Yap (2010) found that --compared to participants who adopted constrictive body postures-- participants who adopted expansive body postures reported feeling more powerful, showed an increase in testosterone and a decrease in cortisol, and displayed an increased tolerance for risk. However, these power pose effects have recently come under considerable scrutiny. Here we present a Bayesian meta-analysis of six preregistered studies from this special issue, focusing on the effect of power posing on felt power. Our analysis improves on standard classical meta-analyses in several ways. First and foremost, we considered only preregistered studies, eliminating concerns about publication bias. Second, the Bayesian approach enables us to quantify evidence for both the alternative and the null hypothesis. Third, we use Bayesian model-averaging to account for the uncertainty with respect to the choice for a fixed-effect model or a random-effect model. Fourth, based on a literature review we obtained an empirically informed prior distribution for the between-study heterogeneity of effect sizes. This empirically informed prior can serve as a default choice not only for the investigation of the power pose effect, but for effects in the field of psychology more generally. For effect size, we considered a default and an informed prior. Our meta-analysis yields very strong evidence for an effect of power posing on felt power. However, when the analysis is restricted to participants unfamiliar with the effect, the meta-analysis yields evidence that is only moderate

No full textThe present text is a very abridged version of a book I wrote out of the desire to examine the structure of our reality from a standpoint unbiased by established teachings, be they academic- scientific, popular- esoteric, or religious in nature. We will begin with seemingly simple interactions in our daily lives, examine how they originate on a deeper level, come to understand the essentials of consciousness, and finally recognize that we create our reality in its entirety. In the course of this quest, we will uncover little-heeded paths to accessing our subconscious, other individuals, and that which can be understood by the term "God". And the solution to the classical problem of free will constitutes the gist of the concepts thus revealed

Pemanfaatan Podcast Youtube TVRI Jawa Barat untuk Meningkatkan Citra Lembaga Penyiaran Publik
No full textThis qualitative case study research analyzes TVRI West Java’s strategy in utilizing youtube podcasts to build a positive image as a Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP). Furthermore, this study identifies the challenges and successes in integrating digital content. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews with the new media content management, observation of the podcasts content, and documentation studies, then analyzed using data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, and validated by triangulation. The results indicate that the utilization of youtube podcasts is a highly effective media convergence strategy. The platform not only disseminates content but also successfully creates a new image that is more modern, relevant, and accessible, especially among the young audience. This strategy significantly strengthens TVRI West Java’s position amid digital media competition, demonstrating the LPP’s adaptability, and allows for a more personal reach to the audience.Penelitian kualitatif studi kasus ini menganalisis strategy TVRI Jawa Barat dalam memanfaatkan podcast youtube untuk membangun citra positif sebagai Lembaga Penyiaran Publik (LPP). Fokusnya adalah mengidentifikasi tantangan dan keberhasilan dalam integrasi konten digital ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pengelola konten media baru, observasi konten podcast, dan studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta divalidasi dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan podcast youtube adalah strategi konvergensi media yang sangat efektif. Platform ini tidak hanya menyebarkan konten, tetapi juga sukses menciptakan citra baru yang lebih modern, relevan, dan terbuka, terutama di kalangan audiens muda. Strategi ini secara signifikan memperkuat posisi TVRI Jawa Barat di tengah persaingan media digital, menunjukkan adaptabilitas LPP, dan memungkinkan jangkauan audiens yang lebih personal
