Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Guidelines
The Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Committee met in November 2014 to address one important element of the incentive systems - journals’ procedures and policies for publication. The outcome of the effort is the TOP Guidelines. There are eight standards in the TOP guidelines; each move scientific communication toward greater openness. These standards are modular, facilitating adoption in whole or in part. However, they also complement each other, in that commitment to one standard may facilitate adoption of others. Moreover, the guidelines are sensitive to barriers to openness by articulating, for example, a process for exceptions to sharing because of ethical issues, intellectual property concerns, or availability of necessary resources
Kesenian Ebleg sebagai Ekspresi Estetis Masyarakat Jawa Tengah: Kajian Filsafati di Dua Daerah Kebumen dan Brebes
Status: Preprint

This study aims to explore passengers' perspectives on commercial advertisements presented inside airplane cabins during flights. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research involved in-depth interviews with passengers who had experienced in-flight advertising on both domestic and international routes. Findings indicate that passengers are more receptive to advertisements that are contextually relevant, such as promotions for destinations, local services, or travel tips. Psychological factors like mood, fatigue, and emotional needs influence perceptions, with narrative and calming visuals being perceived as more effective. Additionally, cultural background significantly shapes responses to advertising, passengers from collectivist cultures prefer messages that emphasize harmony and togetherness, while those from individualist cultures favor direct and personal messages. These results highlight importance of designing in-flight advertising strategies that are contextually appropriate, personally engaging, and culturally sensitive, especially within the limited space of an aircraft cabin.
Profitability and Capital Structure as Determinants of Firm Value: An Empirical Study in The Pharmaceutical Industry
This study investigates the influence of profitability and capital structure on firm value in pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2021–2024. Firm value, proxied by Price to Book Value (PBV), reflects investor perception of a company’s performance and sustainability. Profitability, measured by Return on Assets (ROA), represents managerial efficiency in utilizing assets, while capital structure, measured by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), reflects the level of financial leverage. Using a quantitative approach with panel data regression, secondary financial data from nine purposively selected pharmaceutical firms were analyzed. Model selection procedures, including the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests, confirmed that the Random Effect Model was the most appropriate estimator. The regression results demonstrate that profitability has a positive and significant effect on firm value, indicating that firms with higher earnings performance are more highly valued by investors. Conversely, capital structure shows an insignificant effect on firm value, suggesting that leverage was not a primary consideration in investor assessments of pharmaceutical firms during the study period. Nevertheless, the simultaneous test revealed that profitability and capital structure jointly affect firm value, although profitability plays the dominant role. These findings underscore that the valuation of pharmaceutical firms in Indonesia is more strongly driven by internal financial performance than by financing structure. The study contributes updated empirical evidence by focusing on a strategically important sector in the post-pandemic context and provides practical implications for managers, investors, and regulators in enhancing profitability and ensuring sustainable growth
Pengaruh Nano Silika Terhadap Nilai Karakteristik Aspal Pen 60/70
Roads are very important because they help the economy of a region grow. Many roads are still poorly designed and constructed, especially in Indonesia. One way to improve the quality of asphalt is to add additives. One material that could make asphalt more valuable and be used as an additive is nanomaterial. This test was done to learn about pen 60/70 asphalt with 2% and 4% nano silica additives. The test uses an experimental research method. It involves testing in the laboratory. The results of testing pen 60/70 asphalt with 2% and 4% nano silica additives showed an increase in values for penetration, softening point, flash point, viscosity, and specific gravity, and a decrease in values for ductility, solubility, and oil weight loss (TFOT).Jalan merupakan salah satu infrastruktur yang sangat penting karena sangat berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu daerah.
Exploring social anxiety during adolescence: feared situations, fearful expectancies and views on exposure treatment. A mixed-methods study
The shift to adolescence is a significant period in young people’s lives. Especially for early adolescents, significant changes occur in their lives as they move from elementary school to secondary school (Antheunis et al., 2016). During that phase, social interaction is a particularly crucial aspect of young people’s lives, as spending time with peers becomes a critical marker of increasing independence and developing relationships outside their families (Twenge et al., 2019). As a result, adolescents are required to handle a wide range of social situations (Spence, 2003). Consequently, when social situations become challenging or distressing for adolescents it can have a significant influence upon their psychological, academic, and adaptive functioning (Spence, 2003). More specifically, relationship difficulties with peers, family and teachers are associated with various mental health problems (Segrin, 2000). Moreover, avoidance of social situations that they find challenging tends to maintain their distress (Fisher et al., 2004). Therefore, to break the cycle of avoidance that maintains the tension they may experience, exposing themselves to social situations is crucial (Chorpita & Daleiden, 2009; Creswell, 2020). Research has shown that indeed exposing oneself to anxiety-provoking situations, also known as in vivo exposure (IVE), is an effective way to increase adolescents’ confidence in social situations (Guadiano, 2006). Nonetheless, adolescents tend to be hesitant to engage in IVE. Confronting themselves with real-life social situations might be too threatening for adolescents with social fear and social avoidance. In that regard, practicing with social situations in virtual reality (VRE) may be a more acceptable way to engage in exposure (Emmelkamp et al., 2020). There also appears to be a lack of up-to-date research on (1) the type of social situations adolescents tend to find challenging and (2) the type of negative expectations adolescents hold during these situations. This information could help in designing relevant exposure exercises for struggling adolescents, in a way that challenges their negative cognitions
Nature of Correct Responding in the Compound Remote Associates Test - Experiment 2
In an attempt to test the generalizability of reasoning findings, our main question in this study is whether people who provide a correct response after deliberation in the Compound Remote Associates Test (CRAT), can also provide a correct response on the same task when not deliberating.
Note that this a second experiment in a series (https://osf.io/32m7f). We will use the same methods as in Experiment 1, except that we will use a more stringent deadline for initial responses (6 seconds) and a higher cognitive load (4x4 matrices with a pattern of 5 dots)
