Development of a Training Program for Secondary School Principals Based on Human Performance Technology in Light of Contemporary Administrative Trends and Assessment of its Construct Validity
No full textThis study aimed to develop a training program for secondary school principals based on the principles of human performance technology and to assess its construct validity. The population of the study consisted of all secondary school principals in the capital, Amman, who were working during the 2010-2011 academic year, totaling 395 according to the Ministry of Education\u27s statistics for that year. The sample comprised 220 principals, who were randomly selected. To collect data, the researchers developed a questionnaire to determine the extent to which secondary school principals apply human performance technology, which was distributed to the study population. The results indicated that the status of human performance technology application in Jordanian schools, according to the secondary school principals, was moderate, with an average score of 3.41 and a standard deviation of 0.53. Based on these results, the researchers developed a training program for secondary school principals aimed at improving performance levels and bridging the gap between actual and desired performance. The researchers recommend implementing this program within the Ministry of Education
The Impact of the General Budget Deficit on the Increase of Public Debt: A Case Study of Jordan for the Period 2006-2016
No full textThis study aimed to identify the effect of the public budget deficit on Jordan\u27s public debt. The research was conducted for the period from 2006 to 2016 to understand the size and nature of the budget deficit\u27s impact on public debt in Jordan. The study reached several conclusions, the most significant of which was the existence of a significant effect of the budget deficit on the increase in public debt, attributed to the inability of revenues to cover expenditures. Additionally, the study found an adverse yet significant effect of the budget deficit, in the presence of the controlling variable (external subsidies), on decreasing public debt; specifically, an increase in external subsidies contributed to a reduction in the budget deficit. In conclusion, the study recommended that the government should reduce its current expenditures and invest external subsidies in income-generating projects to diversify its revenue sources. It also emphasized the importance of working toward reducing current expenses to decrease the budget deficit
Critical Success Factors for Professional Choice and their Role in Achieving Adaptation Strategies in Light of the Prevailing Culture of Jordanian University Students
No full textThis study aimed to identify the impact of critical success factors on professional choice and their role in achieving adaptation strategies, considering the prevailing culture of Jordanian university students. The study population consisted of 963 Jordanian university students. The researchers employed a descriptive approach and used a questionnaire as the tool for data collection. The data gathered from the questionnaires were analyzed using several statistical methods through the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).The study concluded that there is a statistically significant effect at the level of (α = 0.05) of critical success factors (self, personal, social, economic, and cultural) on professional choice in achieving competitive adaptation strategies across various dimensions (personal, health, family, and social adaptation). The results indicated a statistically significant effect of critical success factors related to the dominant culture among Jordanian university students. The study also highlighted the need for senior management in Jordanian universities to adopt an effective vision to emphasize the critical success factors influencing professional choice in the context of adaptation to the prevailing culture
Reflections of Political Rejection in the Poetry of Jordanian Poet Ayman Al-Otoum
No full textProtest in literature means to confront and rebel against various issues. This manifests itself in literature, especially in poetry. Poets, through their protest poetry and various purposes, remind the reader of the deceptive elements that attract attention, enlighten society, and provide exceptional value to protest in their work. The Jordanian poet Ayman Al-Otoum is one of the poets who has addressed the issue of protest. One of the most noteworthy features of Al-Otoum\u27s poetry is its protest aspect. In this research, we study the reflection of protest in Ayman Al-Otoum\u27s poetry. This study helps us recognize the most important protest factors that Ayman has identified. It also aids in understanding the phenomenon and motivation of protest poetry in the Levant, which plays a significant role in the life of the Arab community. The methodology of this study is descriptive-analytical. The most important result of this study is that the phenomenon of protest in Ayman Al-Otoum\u27s poetry is manifested in themes related to internal and external political issues
Corporate Governance and Risk Disclosure in Islamic Banks: Evidence from Jordan
No full textThis study aimed to test the impact of corporate governance on risk disclosure levels in Jordanian Islamic banks. It analyzed the content of financial reports from Jordanian Islamic banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange during the period from 2012 to 2017. The effects of corporate governance and various control variables on risk disclosure were measured using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis. The results showed that the risk disclosure level in Jordanian Islamic banks is 66.8%. Moreover, board independence, CEO-Chairperson separation, audit committee effectiveness, ownership concentration, and institutional ownership have a significant impact on risk disclosure levels in financial reporting. Finally, the results indicated that board size, Shari’a Supervisory Board size, and financial leverage do not significantly affect risk disclosure levels, whereas the bank’s size and profitability do have a significant effect.

No full textThis study aimed to determine the extent to which physics textbooks include the basic and integrated science processes found in the scientific activities for ninth and tenth grades in Jordan. The study population consisted of all the scientific activities included in the physics textbooks for the ninth and tenth grades in Jordan for the academic year 2017/2018. The sample of the study was drawn from this population. Operational definitions for each of the basic and integrated science processes were provided. An analysis tool was developed to assess basic and integrated science process skills, with the activity used as the unit of analysis. The activities were then divided into a set of skills and analyzed based on the prepared analysis tool. The study revealed that there was a difference in the percentage of science process skills in basic and integrated skills
The Effectiveness of Enrichment Activities on the Academic Achievement of First Grade Students in the Arabic Language Curriculum in Schools of Jenin Governorate
No full textThis study aimed to identify the effectiveness of enrichment activities in the Arabic language syllabus on first-grade students\u27 achievement in schools in the Jenin governorate. The research tools consisted of two achievement tests, along with enrichment activities designed by the researcher. The researcher employed an experimental method, and the study sample consisted of 90 randomly chosen students. The study revealed significant differences between the pre-test scores and post-test scores, favoring the post-test and benefiting female students. The results also indicated a high degree of effectiveness of enrichment activities in enhancing students\u27 achievement and developing certain language skills, along with significant differences between the average scores of male and female students, favoring females. The study recommended incorporating scientific enrichment activities into the Arabic language syllabus that align with students\u27 capabilities, meet their needs, and promote their cognitive development
Investigating the Optimal Distance Between Grips for a Player of the Jordanian National Team in the Snatch Lift according to Selected Kinematic Variables
No full textThis study aimed to identify the values of selected kinematic variables among Jordanian female weightlifters in the Snatch at a weight of 69 kg by using different distances between the two grips. Furthermore, the study explored the optimal grip distance that achieves the best valuable kinematic variables affecting performance. The researchers used a descriptive approach with a sample consisting of the best Jordanian female weightlifters in the Snatch at 69 kg. The study included three types of distances between the two grips. The researchers utilized standard deviation, arithmetic mean, frequencies, and percentages for statistical data processing. The study results showed that the kinematic variable values among the sample were within results achieved universally, such as the time at the end of the first and second pull phases. However, some kinematic variables among the sample exceeded universal results, including the angles of the knee and hip at the moment of grabbing the barbell off the ground. Additionally, some kinematic variable values among the sample were lower than the universally achieved results, such as the angle of the knee during the first and second pull phases. Notably, the angle of the arm was determined to be the best option for establishing the distance between the two grips, achieving the highest percentage (61%) of kinematic values compared to universally achieved results. The researchers recommend using kinematic analysis in determining the optimal distance between the two grips
Criminal Protection of Human Dignity in the Face of Medical Research and Experiments on Humans: A Comparative Study
No full textThis study aims to shed light on the issue of respecting human dignity in the context of medical research and experiments conducted on humans. Human dignity should take precedence over the legitimate needs of scientific progress, as humans are an end in themselves, not merely a means. Therefore, any legal regulation governing dealings with the human body must be based on the principle of preserving human dignity and respect. The study investigates the extent of protection offered by Islamic law, as well as various international and criminal legislations, for human dignity in the face of medical research and experiments on humans, including laws such as the Jordanian Medical and Health Liability Law No. 25 of 2018 and other comparative legal frameworks. Employing a comparative, analytical, and inductive approach, the research extrapolates the religious stance, as well as the international and Jordanian legal and comparative perspectives on the topic. The study concludes that in order to maintain the high regard and respect for human dignity, it is essential to adhere to Sharia, legal, and ethical principles when conducting medical research and experiments on human beings
