The Effect of a Multiple Intelligences Theory-Based Program on Tenth-Grade Students\u27 Reading Comprehension Skills in Jordan
This study investigated the effect of a multiple intelligences theory-based program on tenth-grade students\u27 reading comprehension skills in Jordan. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design in which the participants were divided into four groups. The participants, chosen through purposeful sampling, consisted of 110 male and female tenth-grade students from two different schools in the Ramtha Directorate of Education. The first control group consisted of 28 female students, while the first experimental group included 27 female students from the same school. The second control group comprised 24 male students, whereas the second experimental group consisted of 31 male students from the same school in the academic year 2017/2018. The two control groups were taught the reading comprehension texts using traditional methods, while the two experimental groups received treatment through a multiple intelligence’s theory-based program for ten weeks. For data collection, the researcher used a validated reading comprehension pre-test and post-test, along with an observation checklist. The results, analyzed using SPSS, indicated that the multiple intelligences theory-based program had a positive effect on the students\u27 reading comprehension skills. Furthermore, the results showed that the program positively affected all the reading comprehension sub-skills. The researcher recommended that EFL curriculum designers and teachers consider multiple intelligences when designing and teaching reading comprehension texts
Strategies for Dealing with Psychological Stress among Widowed Women in Jordan
This study aimed to identify strategies for dealing with stress among widowed women in Jordan. The sample consisted of 119 widows who were visiting the Sweileh and Mabarat Umm al-Hussein orphanage centers. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developed a stress management strategies scale consisting of 67 items divided into ten strategies. The results of the study indicated that the strategy of religious orientation was the most commonly used strategy among widowed women, while the strategies of verbal and physical aggression ranked last. The findings also showed that there were statistically significant differences in widows’ responses to both the cognitive methods strategy and the physical movement strategy based on age, favoring those in the 20-39 age range. Additionally, differences were found in the strategy of practicing certain habits, which were attributed to age and favored those in the 40-60 age group. Moreover, the results revealed statistically significant differences in widows’ responses to both the cognitive methods and religious orientation strategies due to the number of years of widowhood, with widows who had been widowed for five years or more showing greater reliance on these strategies. Conversely, statistically significant differences were observed in responses to the strategies of verbal aggression and the practice of certain habits among those who had been widowed for less than five years. However, the results did not reveal any statistically significant differences in widows’ responses to the remaining strategies concerning the study variables. Based on these results, the researchers recommend enhancing the role of psychological counseling services offered to widows through counseling programs focused on training in strategies for coping with psychological pressures, as well as conducting more studies on widowed women

Jordanian EFL Teachers\u27 Use of Graphic Organizers in Teaching Reading Comprehension: A Case Study of Three Teachers in Jordan
This study reports a case study on the use of graphic organizers in teaching reading comprehension. It focused on teachers\u27 application of graphic organizers in three areas: using semantic maps to teach and expand key words, using concept maps to help students extract information and understand relationships between ideas in expository texts, and using story maps to assist students in identifying the components of literary texts and ordering events chronologically. To collect data, an observation checklist designed by the researchers was used to observe three Jordanian EFL teachers who were purposefully selected from Zainab Bent Al Rasoul Basic School for Girls in the Bani Obaid Directorate of Education. The analysis of the checklist revealed that these teachers did not utilize the three types of graphic organizers (semantic maps, concept maps, story maps) in teaching reading comprehension. Several recommendations for future research are also proposed
Assent in Cloud Computing Contracts: A Comparative Study
In the electronic era of globalization, cloud computing has become a defining phenomenon. This new development has attracted the attention of many legal scholars due to the risks associated with its widespread use in daily life. This article describes and analyzes one of the most fundamental elements related to cloud computing contracts. To obtain the desired service from the provider, the user is required to accept certain terms and conditions associated with the service. A potential issue that may arise concerns the nature of these terms and conditions and whether their content is legally binding. To address this question, this paper examines the issue of mutual assent from a comparative perspective, considering Omani, Jordanian, and Kuwaiti law. The analysis reveals that modifying the legal texts governing acts of deception as a defect of will especially in the legislations studied in this research in order to include gross injustice (blind greed) as an effect resulting from deception aims to allow the user, in both general and electronic contracts, the right to rescind the contractual relationship. This measure intends to preserve the stability of transactions within society and ensure their integrity. Additionally, the paper discusses amending the legal provision related to exempting the advertiser from liability, so that the advertiser\u27s responsibility becomes joint and several with the service provider. This aims to ensure the seriousness of advertisements and to prevent misinformation
Literary and Artistic Property Rights between Regular Courts and Administrative Courts: A Comparative Study of Jordan and Egypt
This study addresses literary and artistic property rights within the context of the ordinary and administrative judiciary, focusing on the legal framework for the deposit of these rights under the Jordanian and Egyptian Copyright and Neighboring Rights Protection Laws. The research findings indicate that legal deposit is an obligation of the rights holders of the work to submit a copy of the published work to a government authority. In Egypt, the rights holder is required to submit a licensing application to the General Department for the Control of Works, accompanied by certain data. The department is responsible for maintaining records of various types of works. A dedicated file is created for each license application, in which all relevant papers related to the work are deposited. Following this, the application undergoes a review process, during which the department examines the work and issues a decision. In Jordan, the Court of First Instance is competent to hear disputes related to literary and artistic property rights. In Egypt, such disputes are considered by the Egyptian State Council courts
Logical Intelligence in Light of the Prophetic Sunnah
This study focuses on an aspect related to the text of the Hadith, known as the subject-related Hadith. Specifically, it examines the Hadiths concerning what is called motor intelligence, in light of the Prophetic Sunnah. Modern education has paid attention to what is called multiple intelligences, including: bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, which is one of the forms of intelligence that emphasizes physical skills and athletic abilities. This aspect holds great importance in the Sunnah; therefore, the study aims to clarify the concept of motor intelligence, the extent of Islam’s concern with this aspect, and its most prominent expressions in light of the Sunnah. The researcher used an inductive approach for related Hadiths, followed by a deductive approach. The study revealed that both the Qur\u27an and Sunnah have shown interest in multiple intelligences, including bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, with many verses and Hadiths indicating this. It also demonstrated that the use of bodily-kinesthetic intelligence has religious, intellectual, cultural, economic, psychological, health, and physical impacts

A Content Analysis of Pronunciation and Spelling Activities in Action Pack Ten
Pronunciation and spelling are crucial skills for any intelligible form of spoken or written communication. Both serve as important indicators—among others—that determine the quality of speech or writing. However, EFL learners often face challenges with these fundamental skills during real-life communication. This content analysis aims to examine whether pronunciation and spelling are adequately covered in the Student Book and Activity Book, the extent to which these activities are emphasized, and their focus within Action Pack 10. To achieve these objectives, a mixed-methods approach was employed, including the development of four content analysis sheets. Frequencies and percentages were used for analysis, and a detailed description of the pronunciation and spelling activities was provided. The results showed that Action Pack 10 includes both pronunciation and spelling activities. Specifically, a dedicated section with one activity per unit for teaching pronunciation is present, with each activity targeting a specific pronunciation outcome as outlined in the Teacher’s Book of Action Pack 10. However, no dedicated spelling section was found, although spelling is explicitly integrated into some writing activities. Only 17.5% of the writing activities in the Student Book and Activity Book explicitly focus on spelling, as indicated in the Teacher’s Book. The study recommends increasing the number of spelling activities utilizing various strategies to improve students’ spelling, as well as developing more contextualized pronunciation activities to better help students achieve pronunciation-related outcomes
