Lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis management in the Gaza Strip: A qualitative study.
Aims of the study: The main aim of this study was to discover the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis management from health policymakers\u27 perspective in the Gaza Strip. Methods: The researcher used a qualitative design, targeting 25health policymakers using a purposeful sampling technique and face-to-face semi-structured interviews to collect data. To analyze the interview data, the directed qualitative content analysis approach was used.
Results: All interviewees agreed that the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) managed the COVID-19pandemic well despite the insufficient resources and lack of experience. More specifically, the average of most participants’ assessments of Palestinian MoH “Preparedness” for the COVID-19 pandemic was 81%, and for “Response” was 83%. This study revealed 42 lessons learned with different frequencies (12 General lessons learned, 12 Lessons learned related to COVID-19 crisis management, five Lessons learned related to MoH administrative structures and components, seven Lessons related to staff and resources, and six Lessons learned related to IT and health information systems). Recommendations: The study recommended activating and enhancing the role of the Palestinian Public Health Emergency Operation Center (PHEOC) and doing further research in health crisis management
Evaluation and Improvement of a solar still with a pyramidal shape by modifying its basin design
As global demand rises, freshwater shortage is a serious obstacle that calls for sustainable desalination methods. To increase desalination productivity, this paper looks at integrating photovoltaic (PV) panels with a novel pyramid solar still architecture. Two distinct configurations of pyramid solar still absorbers were created, assessed, and contrasted with a conventional pyramid solar still: configuration (1) had a square base pyramid measuring 900 cm2 and a height of 12.5 cm, while configuration (2) had a pyramid base pyramid of 2500 cm2 and a height of 21 cm. The different pyramid proportions, working concepts, and system components were explained. A thorough analysis was conducted on performance measures, such as temperatures, freshwater production, and sun irradiation. The findings showed significant production gains when the modified pyramid solar still (MPSS) was compared to a traditional passive system (CPSS). Compared to CPSS, MPSS increased freshwater production for configurations (1) and (2) by around 18% and 19%, respectively, under the same operating conditions of solar radiation and ambient temperature. The recirculation pump\u27s additional electrical functioning was made possible by the integration of PV electricity. Higher water temperatures at MPSS resulted in more heat retention. They supported the system\u27s economic sustainability by increasing the temperature gradients between warm water and the inner glass cover, vapour pressure, and distillate water. They had respective average thermal efficiencies of 30% and 33%
Enhancement Of Punching Phear Strength Of Two-way Slabs Using Headed Steel Shear Studs
Abstract- Shear reinforcement systems contribute in enhancing the punching shear strength of reinforced concrete slab-column connections. An experimental study has been conducted to investigate the efficiency of using headed shear studs to improve the strength and ductility of slab-column connections subjected to punching shear. The study involved seven reinforced concrete two-way slab specimens having plan dimensions of 1100mm×1100mm, which were experimentally tested under square patch loading. The considered parameters were the spacing, orientation and layout arrangement of the shear studs. The study showed that the punching shear strength of specimens with headed shear studs was improved by up to 37.2% compared with that of a control specimen without shear reinforcement. The strength increase recorded for specimens with stud spacing of 65mm was in average 16% more than that for specimens with stud spacing of 90mm. Also, shear studs improved the ductility of the studied specimens particularly those with radial arrangement of studs. Anthropology of Enabling People with Hearing Difficulties in Pub-lic Entertainment Spaces: A Case Study of the Nile Corniche in Minia City
God compensates a person who suffers from a hearing defect by allowing that sense to give way to the part of his perception that it was expected to occupy, stimulating another sense, or by requiring him to interact with his society in other ways to compensate for the effects of his defect. As a result, the research problem was the need to develop open public entertainment spaces that are more welcoming to people who have hearing difficulties. Each individual can enjoy the space in accordance with his or her own needs, thereby implementing the Egyptian Constitution\u27s principle of equality among all individuals. The study\u27s goal was to develop architectural recommendations that would allow persons with hearing issues to enjoy open recreational venues while also reducing the negative impacts of hearing defects.
The study used an exploratory inductive technique to identify the anthropology of the demands of people with hearing impairments in open public entertainment places. Lists of goods and proposals were compiled and grouped into three axes (stimulating the senses, available activities, and encouraging physical empowerment). These can be used to assess the conditions of entertainment spaces in terms of their suitability for people with hearing impairments. There were statistical disparities in assessing the relevance of things for people with hearing impairments versus normal individuals.
The descriptive, analytical, comparative field approach was used to study the Minia City Corniche and evaluate its status within the scope of the reference lists that the research produced, both for people with hearing impairments and for normal people. Using the SPSS program to measure the evaluation of the lists of the three study axes by applying the Wilcoxon test, to explore the statistically significant differences in the study axes based on the different evaluation types of the Nile Corniche. The Nile Corniche proved to be suitable for receiving people with hearing difficulties, with an efficiency very close to its level of reception for normal individuals. The study finished with findings and recommendations for empowering people with hearing difficulties in open entertainment places like the Minia Corniche
Challenges and Opportunities in the Dissemination of Scientific Content: Insights from Media Professionals in Jordan
This study explored the challenges and opportunities in disseminating scientific content from the perspective of media experts in Jordan. Using a descriptive methodology and a questionnaire, the research aimed to understand the landscape better. The sample included 343 media experts holding master\u27s degrees or higher in various media fields, along with several journalists actively working in the sector. The study revealed several key findings. Chief among them are the numerous obstacles hindering the dissemination of scientific content in Jordanian media. These include a lack of training for journalists on accessing new scientific information, a general absence of critical thinking skills among media professionals, insufficient proficiency in English, a lack of scientific culture, and technical hurdles that limit the use of artificial intelligence. The research concluded that while there are significant challenges in disseminating scientific content in Jordanian media, there are also notable opportunities. It emphasizes the necessity of enhancing journalists\u27 skills, promoting Arab scientific production, and improving access to scientific content. Additionally, it highlights the technical barriers preventing the use of artificial intelligence in Jordanian digital news platforms, such as the need for options to create specialized content and the promotion of reading in Arabic
Postoperative Pain After Different Root Canal Irrigant Activation Methods in Patients with Non-vital teeth (Randomized Clinical Trial)
Objective To evaluate the effect of ultrasonic irrigation or manual dynamic agitation on postoperative pain in patients with necrotic teeth with symptomatic apical periodontitis using (VAS) scale.
Methods Seventy-eight patients diagnosed with necrotic mandibular first molar with symptomatic apical periodontitis were randomly allocated into 1 of 3 separate groups (n=26); Manual Dynamic Agitation group, Ultra X group, or Navitip group (control). After a single visit root canal treatment and a specific method of agitation, depending on each group, the patients were given a questionnaire on which the patient would mark the degree of pain in a scale from 0 to 10 at 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 hours and 7 days post-obturation. Data were statistically analyzed with a significance level of P ≤ 0.05.
Results Ultrasonic agitation and SVN group (control) as a final irrigation protocol showed significantly lower pain values than the MDA group, but there was no significant difference in pain values between the experimental groups.
Conclusion There was significantly less pain associated with ultrasonic agitation and side vented needle (Navitip) irrigation compared to Manual Dynamic Agitatio
P53 Tumor Suppressor Gene Expression in Ameloblastoma Subtypes: An Immunohistochemical Analysis
Background: Ameloblastoma is the most frequent of the benign epithelial odontogenic tumours. It exhibits a unique biologic behavior which demands meticulous understanding for thorough diagnosis and management. P53 tumor suppressor protein functions as a gatekeeper of cell division, inducing either cell cycle arrest or apoptosis. While mutations in the p53 gene are often detected in human cancers; the role of p53 in ameloblastoma remains elusive.
Material and methods: To investigate p53 expression in ameloblastoma, a retrospective study was designed to evaluate and compare immunohistochemical p53 protein expression patterns, in follicular ameloblastoma, plexiform ameloblastoma and unicystic ameloblastoma. Nine paraffin-embedded archival tissue specimens were analyzed for p53 expression using immunohistochemistry. Statistical analysis of p53 immunoexpression mean area fraction between groups was performed.
Results: immunohistochemical analysis of p53 expression revealed protein expression as brown granular staining in the ameloblast-like cells and stellate reticulum-like cells of all subtypes of ameloblastoma. The immunopostive reaction was primarily cytoplasmic. The immunoexpression appeared to be more intense in the plexiform and unicystic subtypes compared to the follicular subtype.
Conclusions: cytoplasmic expression of p53 protein could possibly contribute to the pathogenesis of ameloblastoma. Further research is required to decipher the role p53 plays in the pathogenesis and progression of different subtypes of ameloblastoma
Bond Strength of Thermally Aged CAD/CAM Hybrid Nanoceramic Repaired with Nanohybrid Resin Composite
Purpose. To assess shear bond strength (SBS) of nanohybrid resin composite used to repair CAD/CAM Hybrid Nanoceramic ceramic after various surface treatments.
Materials and Methods. SHOFU HC Hybrid Ceramic disks were sliced to obtain circular-shaped specimens (n= 30) were obtained. All specimens were thermocycled (5000 thermal cycles), then specimens were divided into three groups according to the surface treatment performed (sandblasting, HF acid etching, and laser irradiation) (n = 10). Repair procedure with nanohybrid resin composite was performed. SBS values were obtained, and failure modes were determined. Data were statistically analyzed (P ≤ 0.05). Results. The highest SBS mean value was found with Sandblasting, while the lowest mean value was found with Laser. There was a statistically significant difference between Sandblasting, Hydrofluoric acid and Laser groups, where (p=0.001). Also, statistically significant difference was found between Sandblasting and each of Hydrofluoric acid and Laser groups, where (p=0.003) and (p=0.001) respectively, while no statistically significant difference was found between Hydrofluoric acid and Laser groups, where (p=0.291). Conclusion. Surface treatment (modification) of the CAD/CAM hybrid nanoceramic material surface with sandblasting before repairing is mandatory to enhance the bond strength with nanohybrid resin composite repairing material. HF acid etching and laser irradiation are alternative surface treatment methods for CAD/CAM hybrid nanoceramic materials
Le discours sur la modernité dans l’œuvre d’Abdelwahab Meddeb
Any discourse on modernity involves the way of being, thinking and creating and remains strongly linked to the political, ideological and cultural climates that saw it born and evolve, hence thoughts and expressions managed, ipso facto, either in the relationship of fidelity to genealogical belonging, or in that of hospitable overcoming with regard to the other. However, strangely, the discourse on modernity of the writer-poet and essayist Abdelwahab Meddeb is driven by a faithful infidelity with regard to his auroral scene. This duality permeates the Meddebian work of dyonysism and apollinism under the aegis of modernity which frames, at the same time, the polymorphic literary creation and the critical and skeptical thought heir to the age of Enlightenment. Thus, our objective is to question the discourse on modernity in the work of Abdelwahab Meddeb, precisely, through its dual aesthetic and political dimension, in a perspective that is both retrospective and anticipatory, which questions memory, makes the signs of tradition speak and attempts remedies for diffuse or declared bloodthirsty violence, delimited or deterritorialized but advocating the rigid triumph of the homogeneous and whose age is well past

In the digital age, social media have supplanted traditional media, and social media have developed new forms of communication and expression. Moroccan Internet users have also seized this tool to freely express their opinions on many topics that occupy and concern them, including the one in our article: women. Through a corpus of video comments, our analysis revealed the following points: three languages are used by Moroccan Internet users: first, French, then Darija, and finally Standard Arabic. But a correlation quickly emerged between the gender of Internet users, the theme, and the language used; Standard Arabic is thus favored by men in religious or traditionalist arguments; conversely, French prevails in situations of female protest or among both men and women in a sentimental discourse on relationships. Finally, while the frequency of Darija is average, it rises when the discourse becomes heated or when the speaker is seeking authenticity or Moroccanness. These results clearly show the conscious or unconscious impact of languages on social representations and the growing role of social networks in the development of e-edarija, which has elevated the popular language to the language of the People
