The factors of the emergence of the Ikhshidi state and the reasons for its downfall

    No full text
The current study talks about the Ikhshidi state: its emergence and the factors of its downfall. It began with a definition of the Ikhshidid state, as it is an Islamic emirate founded by Mohamed bin Tughj al-Ikhshidi in Egypt, and later extended towards the Levant and the Hijaz, thirty years after the return of the Egyptian and Levantine lands to the Abbasid state, after the collapse of the Tulunid emirate, which was independent by virtue of the aforementioned lands, and separated from the Abbasid Caliphate for 37 years. The founder of the Ikhshidid state was a Turkish Mamluk, and this Mamluk was appointed governor of Egypt by the Abbasid state. The Ikhshidid state is one of the successive countries that ruled the Islamic world. This state extended to include Egypt, Hijaz, the Levant and others, and it arose after the collapse of the Tulunid state, founded by Ahmed bin Tulun in Egypt, where it flourished greatly and expanded its area and greatness among countries. However, the Ikhshidid state was subjected to several factors that led to its fall. This was the result of chaos and turmoil that swept most parts of Egypt after the death of Kafur Al-Ikhshidi and the inability of the Abbasid Caliphate to restore things to normal. We summarize that the collapse of the Ikhshidid state came as a result of natural disasters that hit the country, the most important of which is the low level of the Nile water, famine, high prices, fires, epidemics, until people ate carrion and dogs. That was in addition to the division of the army, where chaos prevailed in the ranks of the army and many soldiers revolted against their superiors and demanded their livelihood, which led to the escape of a large part of them from Egypt and catch up with Hassan bin Obaid Allah in the Levant. This was one of the most important reasons that led to the collapse of the Ikhshidid state and the success of the Fatimid invasion

    No full text
The main objective of this study is to identify the reality of scientific research in the Arab world, and the crises related to it in all aspects compared to developed countries, and to identify the factors driving scientific research, such as spending on scientific research and the number of published research in addition to the number of researchers and the scientific research environment that Arab countries have worked on. A stimulus and encouragement for scientific research, or is it an obstructing and frustrating environment for scientific research? It also aims to present some proposals that can contribute to the development of Arab scientific research, based on the results of analysis and comparison. The researcher used the case study method to collect and analyze data, by analyzing the policies of Arab countries regarding scientific research. We found out that the number of researchers is not enough to complete high-quality research, and that the number of published research is modest compared to developed countries, and that the volume of expenditures on scientific research from the GDP of Arab countries is small compared to other countries, noting that this spending is provided by the government sector and the contribution of the private sector is marginal The policies adopted by the Arab countries are obstructive and do not create a conducive environment for scientific research. The focus in scientific research was mostly theoretical research, and these researches were not linked to the needs of society, and no focus was given to applied research that works on the development of companies’ work and works to advance the wheel. No full text
This study aimed to determine how the Hamas movement represented the other in its media discourse during the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. To achieve this goal, the study relied on the qualitative analytical approach, specifically rhetorical discourse analysis. The study sample included all Hamas\u27s media spokesman speeches, between October 7, 2023, and January 1, 2024, numbering 11 speeches. The study results showed that Hamas\u27s media discourse focused on portraying two main groups: us and them. The us group included the Palestinian people in all their spectra. They were referred to using terms with positive connotations such as: the steadfast, the one holding onto embers, the steadfast, those confronting the arrogance of the entity, those entrenched in their land, the resistant, the revolutionaries, and the people in the West Bank. This group also included the Arab and Islamic nations, and they were referred to with phrases such as: all the Arab and Islamic countries, the masses of our nation, members of the resistance movements in Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon, and the Mujahedeen. The group extended to include the free people of the world, about all those rejecting the aggression against Gaza, regardless of their religious or ideological affiliations. In contrast, the them group included the Zionists”, and they were referred to using terms with negative connotations such as: tyrants, the enemy, herds, settlers, criminals, extremist religious groups, the riffraff coming from Eastern and Western Europe and from all parts of the world. The group also included America and all countries supporting the occupation. The results indicated that Hamas\u27s discourse relied on multiple rhetorical strategies, such as the use of loaded terms, citing Quranic verses and Prophetic Hadiths, and presenting statistical evidence. The analysis revealed that Hamas\u27s discourse is not characterized by extremism in its definition of the they group, but rather is based on the right to resist occupation and self-defense, by international legitimacy and human rights. The study recommends using the qualitative analytical approach to uncover the goals of various movements and organizations and their relationship to current events in the Arab region

Arbitration Agreement Conducted through Modern Technological Devices

    No full text
This study addresses the arbitration agreement conducted through modern technological devices, which is fundamental to the arbitral process. It represents the first step in bringing a dispute to arbitration and grants the authority to the arbitrator to resolve the conflict. The researcher employed a descriptive and analytical approach to describe the agreement, including its concept, conditions, formal and objective statements, and the analysis of legal texts to demonstrate the legal basis in both the Jordanian arbitration law and the Jordanian electronic transactions law. The study reached several conclusions, the most significant of which is that the arbitration agreement can be concluded through modern technological devices without the physical presence of the parties involved in the conflict. This approach offers several advantages, such as a quicker conclusion of the agreement, lower costs, and alignment with technological advancements. However, there are also obstacles facing this agreement, including a lack of alignment with the legal regulations governing traditional arbitration. The researcher provided several recommendations to address these obstacles, emphasizing that the most important recommendation is to expand the definitions of writing and signature to include modern technological means. This can be achieved through legislative amendments to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of the internet

    No full text
This study aimed to discover the effect of computerized learning on the achievement of first-grade students in the study of the Arabic language in Jordan. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher developed a computerized educational program and an achievement test that measures the reading and writing skills of first-grade students. The results of this study were verified. The study sample consisted of 60 first-grade students during the first semester of 2018-2019. They were divided into two groups, each consisting of 30 students. A semi-experimental method was used to organize the sample into two groups: one group was taught using the traditional method, while the other group was taught using educational software. The results showed statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 in the achievement of first-grade students in the Arabic language (reading and writing) in favor of the teaching method that utilized educational software. The study recommends generalizing the experience of using educational software applied to Arabic language students across various subjects, leveraging the positive impact of educational software on student achievement. Additionally, it suggests conducting new studies with different designs and measurement tools to investigate the effect of using educational software in various subjects and levels of study

Ibn-Jinnī’s Justifications for the Omissions in Sibaweh\u27s Book

    No full text
This study aimed to reveal Ibn al-Jinnī\u27s approach in defending Sibawayh against overlooking certain linguistic structures. Such omissions were pointed out by some grammarians, like Ibn al-Sarrāj, which led Ibn al-Jinnī to view them as a derogation of Sibawayh’s efforts in the book. He responded by trying to find reasons to counter those who attacked and undermined Sibawayh, according to his understanding. The reactions of grammarians, linguists, and lexicographers were often similar regarding many examples that Sibawayh overlooked, whether in approval or rejection, as this study will explain. The omissions identified by Ibn al-Jinnī were categorized according to their sources. The study then examined Ibn al-Jinnī’s evidence, as documented in his book Al-Khaṣā’is, and summarized the evidence that Ibn al-Jinnī used but did not explicitly mention. All this information was scrutinized, critiqued, and compared to assess the strength of the evidence. The study demonstrated that early grammarians often overlooked the fact that linguistic structures evolve and change a natural development influenced by many factors. Therefore, early grammarians scrutinized Sibawayh’s and others’ works, searching for overlooked structures as if they were trying to discover precious knowledge. Had they devoted their time and effort to more important matters, it would have been more beneficial and appropriate

The Enthusiastic Dimension and its Effect on the Formation of the Literary Narrative Discourse Structure

    No full text
This study explores the passionate dimension and its effect on the formation of the structure of the literary narrative discourse, based on the rules and principles adopted by researchers in the field of narrative semantics, foremost among them Algridas Julien Greimas. The study seeks to follow procedural elements to analyze the narrative structure of the passionate dimension and its stages of formation through adopted pathways that may reveal the semantic implications behind the structural levels that constitute the narrative text. With this pathway-based perspective, which underpins the narrative analysis of the alluring dimension, the analyst—regardless of their methodological affiliation—can discern the peripheral influence of allure in the constructive formation of the narrative discourse. This is achieved through a pathway-based and mechanistic tracing of theoretical and methodological propositions in narrative semiotics, where the primary factor plays a crucial role in producing human semantic meaning from the deep level where alluring blocks reside and branch out. These blocks manifest and surface at the superficial level, which, in turn, represents the practical roles of the discursive and narrative components
