    The Educational Role of Teachers and the Challenges they Face in Developing a Culture of Confronting Intellectual Extremism among High School Students in Amman

    The study aimed to assess the reality of the educational role among secondary school teachers in Amman in addressing and developing a culture to confront intellectual extremism. Using the descriptive approach, a questionnaire with 61 items was developed to achieve the aims of this study. The study sample consisted of 350 students in Amman enrolled during the academic year 2019/2020. The results indicated that the level of the educational role among secondary school teachers was moderate. Differences in the level of the educational role among teachers in Amman were attributed to gender, favoring males, and to specialization, favoring vocational specialization. Additionally, the difficulties faced by secondary school teachers in achieving this role were moderate, with differences due to gender variable, favoring males, while there were no differences attributable to specialization

    هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى قياس مستوى الهناء الوجداني المهني لدى معلمي المرحلة المتوسطة بمدينة الرياض، ذلك من خلال تطبيق مقياس الهناء الوجداني المرتبط بالعمل (JAWS) والمعد من قبل (Van Katwyk et., 2000 )، وبعد ترجمته والتحقق من خصائصه السيكومترية. جرى تطبيقه على عينة مكونة من (415) معلمًا ومعلمة. وأظهرت النتائج أن مستوى الهناء الوجداني المهني لدى المعلمين كان بوجه عام متوسطًا، حيث جاء بُعد المشاعر الإيجابية منخفضة الإثارة (HPLA) في المرتبة الأولى، يليه بُعد المشاعر الإيجابية عالية الإثارة (HPHA)، ثم المشاعر السلبية منخفضة الإثارةLPLA) )، وأخيرًا المشاعر السلبية عالية الإثارة ( LPHA). وتشير هذه النتائج إلى تمتع المعلمين بدرجة مُرضية من الهناء الوجداني لكنها ليست بالمستوى التحفيزي العالي. علاوة على ذلك، لم تجد الدراسة فروقًا ذات دالة إحصائية في مستوى الهناء الوجداني تعزى إلى النوع الاجتماعي أو عدد سنوات الخدمة، بينما وُجدت فروق تعزى لمتغير العمر باتجاه المعلمين الذين تزيد أعمارهم عن(36–45 سنة، وأكثر من 45 سنة). This study aimed to assess the level of job-related affective well-being among middle school teachers in Riyadh by administering the Job-Related Affective Well-Being Scale (JAWS) developed by Van Katwyk et al.,(2000), after translating it and verifying its psychometric properties. The scale was administered to a sample of( 415) teachers. The findings indicated that, overall, teachers demonstrated a moderate level of job-related affective well-being. The High Positive Low Arousal (HPLA) dimension ranked first, followed by High Positive High Arousal (HPHA), Low Positive Low Arousal (LPLA), and finally Low Positive High Arousal (LPHA). These results suggest that teachers experience a satisfactory degree of affective well-being; however, it does not reach a high motivational level. Furthermore, the study found no statistically significant differences in affective well-being based on gender or years of service, whereas age-related differences were observed, favoring teachers aged 36–45 years and those over 45 years.

This is how the streaming platform Netflix saw, here, a godsend to seize this market and innovate in cinematographic digitalization. It therefore decided to rent via a monthly subscription, through a Smartphone or Smart TV application, films and series to watch without moderation (unlike the old video clubs). The cinema then becomes Smart or pocket and accessible, at a low price, for any film buff because technologies have nowadays changed our daily interpersonal relationships. These have an even more significant influence on the 7th Art, as on film buffs, thus creating a gap between them and a zone of discomfort

    Outside Text Elements and Their Effect in Re-Thinking Standardized Translations: Elmessiri’s Choices in Translation as a Case Study

    Abstract. As far as Elmessiri\u27s translation process is concerned, it can be seen that he considered the influence of power and ideology and its influence on the translation of the Arab world. He tried to solve the problem and understand the words in the context, rather than impose them. The purpose of this paper is to show how out-side text elements such as the historical, cultural, political, and philosophical backgrounds of terminology, can affect translation process and lead to re-thinking about world-known translated terminology. Elmessiri choices in translation are taken as a sample for this research. This study demonstrates some examples of Elmessiri\u27s translations of World-known terminology, including Jewish History, Anti-Semitism, World Zionism, Zionism, Settlements, Holocaust, World Wars, Age of Discovery, and Crusades. This study concludes that out-side text elements are valuable, and might be used in the works that agree with his views, whereas translating terminology of works that disagree with his views into his choices might be misleading

    Roles of Nigerian Ulama in Politics and Nation-Building: The Controversy, Achievements and Recommendations

    Religion and politics in Islam are not watertight compartments. In Islam, it is impossible to separate the state from religion because Islam is a state in the political sense and a religion in the spiritual sense. It is true that state-religion-separation is the norm in the secularist West. It is not true in Islam where state and Islam are indivisibly connected. Despite the interconnectedness between Islam and politics, a lot of people see participation of ulama in politics as an abomination due to the current of apolitical Islam that is sweeping across the circle of ulama. Focusing on Nigeria, this paper reviews the roles of ulama in Nigerian politics and nation building. It posits that since the ulama are the custodians of the Islamic tradition, the jurists of its legal philosophy, the teachers of its doctrines, ethics, and sciences, the advocates of its justice system, and more importantly the inheritors of the prophets, they should be seen in politics giving direction and managing state affairs. Their political participation will also help to promote the option of sharia as a veritable alternative—to the failed democratic system—towards nation building. This paper finds that, in Nigeria, the norm is for the ulama to steer clear from politics and the few that participate are viewed by their peers with scepticism. It concludes that the ulama are religiously obligated (collectively) to participate in politics towards nation building. It recommends more political participation and constitutional roles for the ulama

    تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى فهم أثر تطبيق استراتيجية التعليم المتمايز في تحسين مستوى التفكير الإبداعي لدى طالبات الصف السابع الأساسي في مادة العلوم . تم استخدام المنهج شبه التجريبي في مدرسة شجرة الدر الأولى الأساسية للبنات في الزرقاء، الأردن، خلال الفصل الدراسي 2023-2024، حيث شملت الدراسة عينة من 172 طالبة تم تقسيمهن إلى مجموعتين: مجموعة تجريبية تم تدريسها باستخدام استراتيجية التعليم المتمايز ومجموعة ضابطة. بواقع 68 طالبة في كل مجموعة . تم استخدام اختبار تورانس للتفكير الإبداعي الصورة (أ) لقياس تأثير استراتيجية التعليم المتمايز والذي تم تطبيقه على أفراد عينة الدراسة . بعد تحقيق ثبات وصدق الأداة وبعد استخدام الأساليب الاحصائية، أظهرت النتائج وجود فروقًا ذات دلالة إحصائية في درجات الاختبار لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. وفي ضوء تلك النتائج استنتجت الباحثة ضرورة تشجيع المعلمين على تبني استراتيجيات التعليم المتمايز في مادة العلوم، والتي يمكن تطبيقها بسهولة وفعالية، خاصةً في ظل التطور التكنولوجي الحديث. وقد أوصت الباحثة بتكامل هذه الاستراتيجيات مع عمليات التدريس لتعزيز تنمية ورفع مستوى مهارات التفكير الإبداعي لدى الطلبة. This study aims to understand the impact of implementing differentiated instruction strategies on enhancing the creative thinking abilities of seventh-grade female students in the subject of science. A quasi-experimental approach was employed at Shajarat Al-Durr Primary School for Girls in Zarqa, Jordan, during the academic year 2023-2024. The study included a sample of 172 students divided into two groups: an experimental group, taught using differentiated instruction strategies, and a control group, with 68 students in each. The Torrance Test for Creative Thinking (Figural A) was used to measure the impact of differentiated instruction strategies, administered to the study sample. After ensuring the reliability and validity of the tool and applying appropriate statistical methods, the results indicated statistically significant differences in test scores in favor of the experimental group. In light of these findings, the researcher concluded the importance of encouraging teachers to adopt differentiated instruction strategies in the subject of science, which can be easily and effectively implemented, especially in the context of modern technological advancements. The researcher recommended integrating these strategies into teaching processes to enhance the development and elevation of students\u27 creative thinking skills

    هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى واقع تطبيق معايير الجودة والاعتماد في التعليم العالي في السعودية للوصول إلى التميز الأكاديمي استناداً إلى التجارب الدولية المعاصرة من وجهة نظر القيادات التربوية، ابتعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المسحي من خلال تطبيق استبانه مكونة من (58) فقرة على عينة مكونة من (388) قياديا من القيادات التربوية وأعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعات السعودية وفق متغيرات الدراسة. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن المتوسّطات الحسابيّة لإجابات أفراد عينة الدّراسة عن مجالات واقع تطبيق معايير الجودة والاعتماد في التعليم العالي في السعودية للوصول إلى التميز الأكاديمي استناداً إلى التجارب الدولية المعاصرة من وجهة نظر القيادات التربوية جاء بمستوى مرتفع، وجاء في المرتبة الأولى البعد الثالث “معيار البرامج الأكاديمية ، وجاء في المرتبة الأخيرة البعد السابع معيار الشراكة المجتمعية. كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في درجة تطبيق معايير ضمان الجودة والاعتماد للوصول إلى التميز الأكاديمي استناداً إلى التجارب الدولية المعاصرة تعزى لعدد سنوات الخبرة والمسمى الوظيفي، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في درجة تطبيق معايير ضمان الجودة والاعتماد للوصول إلى التميز الأكاديمي استناداً إلى التجارب الدولية المعاصرة تعزى للجنس لصالح الإناث. وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة استثمار البيئات الداعمة والمحفزة للجودة في الجامعات السعودية، وتفعيل التشاركية في اتخاذ القرارات. The study aimed to identify the reality of applying quality and accreditation standards in higher education in Saudi Arabia to achieve academic excellence based on contemporary international experiences from the perspective of educational leaders. The study adopted a descriptive survey approach by applying a questionnaire consisting of (58) items to a sample of (388) educational leaders and faculty members in Saudi universities according to the study variables. The results showed that the arithmetic means of the responses of the study sample regarding the areas of applying quality and accreditation standards in higher education in Saudi Arabia to achieve academic excellence based on contemporary international experiences from the perspective of educational leaders were at a high level. The third dimension, “Academic Programs Standard,” ranked first, while the seventh dimension, “Community Partnership Standard,” ranked last. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of applying quality assurance and accreditation standards to achieve academic excellence based on contemporary international experiences attributed to the number of years of experience and job title, and there were statistically significant differences in the degree of applying quality assurance and accreditation standards to achieve academic excellence based on contemporary international experiences attributed to gender in favor of females. The study recommended the necessity of investing in supportive and motivating environments for quality in Saudi universities and activating participation in decision-making

    EVALUATION OF IRRIGATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN OLD AND NEW LANDS

    Egypt suffers from severe water scarcity, and the Nile Delta region, where inefficient irrigation practices exacerbate water stress and faces significant challenges. This study employs a multi-phased approach to evaluate irrigation improvement projects and management strategies in two study areas represent old and new land .Key performance indicators including adequacy, efficiency, equity, dependability, and Water Use Index, were calculated based on extensive data collection, considering factors like soil properties, climate conditions, and crop water requirements. The Analytic Hierarchy Process employed in two phases: first, to prioritize the key performance indicators themselves, and second, to rank four different irrigation management strategies based on economic, technical, environmental, and social aspects. This study further explores the potential benefits of combining these strategies into various scenarios. Interactions between the four strategies arise from their complementary nature, allowing for a more comprehensive and effective approach. Six scenario developed and then evaluated using the Simple Additive Weighting method. All the studied performance indicators are interconnected and collectively essential for the evaluation of irrigation systems with very close relative weights. Second Strategy titled water resource management and efficiency emerged with overall score of 0.27 as the top-ranked strategy, which aims to optimize water use and prevent wastage through improved water distribution, demand management, and efficient irrigation technologies. Third scenario which integrates third strategy institutional and capacity building and forth strategy technological innovation identified with the highest score of 0.92 as the most promising. This research underscores the importance of a data-driven approach for assessing irrigation improvement project and identifying a promising approach for policymakers

    A Comprehensive Review of Natural Gas-Diesel Dual-Fuel Engines: Efficiency, Emissions, and Engine Performance

    Natural gas (NG) diesel dual-fuel systems have emerged as a promising advancement in internal combustion engine (ICE) technology, offering significant potential for reducing emissions, while maintaining high fuel efficiency and performance standards. This review critically examines the combustion characteristics, operational performance, emissions mitigation potential, and the engineering challenges associated with engine modifications and fuel system compatibility. Furthermore, the role of dual-fuel technology within broader global climate change mitigation strategies is explored. Extensive evidence from the literature confirms that NG-diesel dual-fuel engines can achieve substantial reductions in nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) emissions up to 53% particulate matter (PM) by over 60%, and carbon dioxide (CO₂) by 30–40% compared to conventional diesel engines. The characteristic two-stage combustion process initiated by a diesel pilot followed by NG combustion enables improvements in thermal efficiency by 5–15%, though accompanied by increased ignition delay and higher hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions under high NG substitution ratios. Strategic interventions such as optimized injection timing, split injection techniques, and intake heating have been identified as effective in mitigating performance trade-offs. Looking forward, the prospects for NG-diesel dual-fuel technology are notably strong, particularly given the intensifying global emphasis on transportation decarbonization. Future research is anticipated to focus on advanced combustion control strategies utilizing artificial intelligence and real-time emissions feedback, fuel quality optimization with biomethane and hydrogen-enriched natural gas, the development of dedicated dual-fuel engine architectures, and the design of emissions aftertreatment systems tailored for dual-fuel operation. Additional priorities include comprehensive durability studies, knock mitigation at high substitution ratios, techno-economic and life-cycle analyses under real-world conditions, and the expansion of CNG/LNG refueling infrastructure supported by progressive policy initiatives
