Mutual Coupling Impedance Effect on RIS-Assisted Terahertz Communication
Terahertz (THz) communication based on reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) is a promising technology in future wireless networks, with the capabilities of ultra-high data rates and energy-efficient beam communicating. Nevertheless, the mutual coupling impedance of the closely spaced RIS reveals the inefficacy in existing channel estimation schemes, while it is usually ignored in the literature. In this paper, we fill this gap by developing an EM-compliant channel model that integrates mutual coupling explicitly for RIS-assisted THz systems. We evaluate the performance of mutual impedance-induced influence to the accuracy of the root mean square error (RMSE), which is considered as a pivotal metric and investigate the impact of mutual coupling on the accuracy of channel estimation. By extensive simulations, we show that the ignorance of mutual coupling results in large estimation errors (e.g. RMSE increases by up to 40% with the transmit power of 50 dBm and the element spacing of 0.02 λ), especially in the dense RIS arrays with the sub-wavelength element spacing. We also study fundamental design trade-offs between RIS complexity (e.g. element density) and the estimation accuracy. The above-findings underscore the significance of considering the mutual coupling effects in channel estimation models when targeting reliable and robust RIS-assisted THz systems

The Impact of the Translated Frankenstein Story on the Child›s Psyche and Thinking
In this study, the researcher explored the impact of Frankenstein’s translated story on children. Choosing a topic or idea in translating children’s stories is likely to cause children to not respond to it and therefore not read it. It is therefore imperative for the translator to consider the elements of the story in the translation process, including the subject and idea, characters, environment, and style. Accordingly, the researcher sought to highlight the psychological and intellectual effects that this translated story has on children and its reflection on society. The researcher also mentioned the technique used in translating the proper names of the translated story of Frankenstein that Newmark presented. The main reason for this is the name of the main character around which the events revolve, as well as the title of the story “Frankenstein”. The researcher concluded that the translator preferred to use the transliteration technique and the recognized translation technique in translating proper names, including the title. The researcher also concluded that the story of Frankenstein is not suitable for children and negatively affects their psychology and thinking

Wideband Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio Using Under-sampled Successive Approximation ADC
The radio spectrum, an inherently limited resource, has been increasingly utilized owing to the recent exponential growth of wireless services. This has led to a new approach, termed cognitive radio, predicated upon exploitation of spectrum holes for omnipresent spectrum utilization. This is made possible via cognitive radio networks’ employment of spectrum sensing. Wideband spectrum sensing has been the focal challenge point in cognitive radio technology, since existing techniques are reliant on analog to digital converters (ADC) with sampling at the Nyquist rate. Unfortunately, in order to perform digitization of wideband RF signals at the Nyquist rate, a very high sampling frequency is required with primarily complex and energy inefficient designs. In this paper, a wideband spectrum sensing design is proposed utilizing Compressive Sensing, which enables sampling far below the Nyquist rate and thus drastically reduces power consumption, complexity and cost of the system. The proposed design is an 8-bit Under-sampled Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC. The core blocks of an SAR ADC design are the SAR Logic Block and the comparator, both of which were designed and simulated in Cadence software. The design was implemented in targeted technology of 65 nm standard CMOS technology. An optimization method suitable for VLSI implementation, termed Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP), was utilized for spectrum recovery. Following comparative analyses with previously published studies, we demonstrate significant improvements in terms of speed and chip area of the SAR ADC design proposed herein
Performance Analysis of Computational Methods for Predicting Protein Function in Rare Diseases
Protein function prediction is crucial for understanding the underlying mechanisms of rare diseases. With the increasing availability of computational methods including machine learning-based approaches, network-based methods, and sequence-based methods, predicting protein functions has become more accessible. However, it is not clear which of these methods performs better or how they compare to each other in terms of accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. In this study, we evaluate several computational methods for predicting protein functions in rare diseases using key performance indicators (KPIs). We analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each method and provide recommendations for researchers and clinicians interested in using these methods for rare disease research. The present analysis highlights mi-SVM and RWRKNN as top performers in terms of accuracy, with DeepWalk leading in efficiency. RoF outperforms SVM in speed and accuracy, emphasizing the need for careful model choice based on dataset size and resource availability. Results demonstrate the importance of carefully selecting computational methods for protein function prediction in rare diseases and highlight the need for more research in this area
The Level of Health Awareness among Students of the Applied Science Private University in Light of Certain Variables
The study aimed to identify the level of health awareness and certain eating habits related to food awareness among a sample of students at the University of Applied Sciences. The sample consisted of 477 students, including 250 males and 227 females, from different levels of study and colleges within the university. The participants responded to a specific questionnaire designed to measure their level of health awareness and certain dietary habits, which consisted of 61 items distributed across 7 domains: nutrition, personal health, importance of physical activity, body composition and functioning, family health, and medical conditions. The results indicated that the overall level of health awareness among the study sample members was at a moderate level across all domains. Participants had high scores in the area of physical activity and perceptions related to textures and variety in food. Additionally, students from scientific disciplines scored significantly higher in terms of strength awareness. The findings also revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the overall level of health awareness across all areas based on the gender variable, favoring female students. However, there were no statistically significant differences based on the academic level variable in most areas of health awareness, except for the strength domain, which favored third-year students. Furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences based on the type of college attended, except in the area of body composition and functioning, which favored students from scientific colleges. The researcher recommended the need to develop a comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing health awareness levels among students, as well as fostering cooperation and coordination between university administration and health institutions, particularly regarding the health needs of university students
The Impact of a Drama-Based Instructional Program on the Speaking Performance of Jordanian EFL Learners
This study examines the effect of a drama-based role-play instructional program on the speaking performance of EFL Jordanian ninth-grade students. It aims to determine whether there are any statistically significant differences in students\u27 speaking performance attributed to the drama-based instructional program (specifically, the role-play technique) in the post-test mean scores. A total of 40 participants were randomly assigned to two groups: the control group and the experimental group at That Rass Secondary School for Girls in the Southern Almazar Directorate of Education, Jordan, during the second semester of the academic year 2017-2018. For data collection, a pre/post speaking test and a rating scale were used. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate statistical measures such as One-Way ANCOVA. The results revealed that the drama-based role-play instructional program had a significant effect on the five skills of speaking performance (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and comprehension) in favor of the experimental group. The researchers recommended conducting training workshops on role-play and drama-based instructional programs for EFL teachers. Additionally, drama techniques should be infused into the speaking activities in textbooks

The Impact of Organizational Learning on Entrepreneurial Orientation in Jordanian Pharmaceutical Companies
This study aimed to investigate the impact of organizational learning on entrepreneurial orientation in Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. The study measured organizational learning based on two dimensions: adaptive learning and generative learning. Entrepreneurial orientation was assessed using four dimensions: proactiveness, innovativeness, risk-taking, and competitive aggressiveness. The study population consisted of 907 managers across all managerial levels in the surveyed companies, and a stratified random sampling method was employed. A comprehensive survey was conducted, with 274 questionnaires distributed, and 222 valid questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis. An analytical descriptive approach was used to achieve the study’s objectives, along with several statistical methods, most notably simple and multiple regression analysis. The study yielded numerous results, the most significant of which are: high levels of organizational learning (both adaptive and generative) and high levels of entrepreneurial orientation. Specifically, high levels were observed in proactiveness, innovativeness, and competitive aggressiveness, while risk-taking was at a moderate level. The results demonstrated a positive and significant impact of organizational learning on entrepreneurial orientation. Based on these findings, the researchers proposed several recommendations to assist the management of Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in enhancing organizational learning and entrepreneurial orientation. It was advised that they focus on strengthening the strategic aspect of implementing entrepreneurial orientation across all its dimensions (proactiveness, innovativeness, risk-taking, and competitive aggressiveness)
