    No full text
This study aimed to identify the level of emotional stability among Bethlehem University students and its relation to the following variables: gender, faculty, level of education, and place of residence. The researcher employed the descriptive research method for this study, which included 346 students randomly selected from Bethlehem University. A survey consisting of 71 statements was distributed to all 346 students. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, T-test, variance analysis, and LSD test. The results indicated that the level of emotional stability among Bethlehem University students was average. Furthermore, the findings showed no correlation between emotional stability and gender, faculty, or place of residence. However, there was a direct correlation between the level of emotional stability and the level of education. Based on these results, the researcher recommends implementing a new training program to increase emotional stability among students. Additionally, more multidisciplinary studies concerning emotional stability should be conducted with students from various Palestinian universities

    No full text
This study investigates and analyzes Ibn Al-Adim\u27s book entitled Al-Insaf wa Tahari fi Dafa\u27 Al-Dhulm wa Al-Tajari \u27an Abi Al-Alaa Al-Ma\u27arri (588-660 H). This source is the only available classified book dedicated to discussing the controversial issue raised by early critics regarding Abi Al-Alaa Al-Ma\u27arri\u27s doctrine. However, the loss of some parts of the book hinders confirming with certainty whether Ibn Al-Adim achieved his objectives in writing this book. Yet, the parts we have confirm the author\u27s positive attitude toward Al-Ma\u27arri\u27s faith and ensure the validity of his religious beliefs. In this book, Ibn Al-Adim also responds to several suspicions surrounding Al-Ma\u27arri\u27s Islamic faith

The Impact of Working Capital Management on Operating Income: An Analytical Study of Industrial Companies Listed on the Palestine Exchange

    No full text
This study aimed to identify the impact of working capital management on the operating return of industrial companies listed on the Palestine Exchange during the period from 2010 to 2014, totaling 12 companies. To achieve this objective, the impact of the cash conversion cycle, along with its three components, was tested as independent variables on operating income, which served as the dependent variable. Data were collected from the financial reports of the sampled companies. Simple regression analysis was employed to determine the effect of working capital management as a separate variable on operating profit as a dependent variable. The study found several results, including that the average collection period and the cash conversion cycle are significantly related to the operating rate of return, while the average inventory conversion period and the average payment period are insignificantly related to operating income. Based on these findings, the study suggests that industrial Palestinian companies should improve the efficiency of their cash flow management by adopting effective credit policies that reduce the volume of receivables and decrease investment in finished goods inventory. The study also recommends that listed companies explore short-term investment alternatives that can be utilized to achieve profits during periods of recession

    No full text
This study aimed to investigate the effect of using mobile phone applications on the development of academic achievement among seventh-grade students in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. To achieve this aim, the researcher employed two different research methods: the analytical descriptive approach, which was used to extrapolate the independent variable (mobile phone applications) and the dependent variable (academic achievement). The study sample consisted of seventh-grade students from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who were randomly selected and divided into two groups. The first group, the experimental group, was taught using a mobile phone-based educational program, while the second group, the control group, was taught in the traditional manner. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental and control groups on the post-achievement test

    No full text
This study aimed to assess the self-development level among faculty members at northern universities in Jordan from the perspective of their academic department heads. Additionally, it sought to examine the impact of the variables: gender, university ownership, academic specialization, and academic rank on the department heads’ evaluations of the self-development level among faculty members. The sample consisted of 188 department heads selected using simple random sampling. A descriptive analytical methodology was employed, and a questionnaire was used to collect data to achieve the study\u27s objectives. The results showed that the self-development level among faculty members was high. Furthermore, significant differences were found in the department heads\u27 evaluations based on university ownership and academic rank, particularly in private universities and at the assistant rank. However, there were no significant differences based on the variables of gender and academic specialization in the evaluations of academic department heads. Considering the study results, the researchers recommended that faculty members be informed of university regulations and encouraged to diversify their teaching strategies

    No full text
This study aimed to assess verbal and performance intelligence and their relationship to behavioral problems among students with hearing impairment. To achieve this, the paragraphs of the Wechsler Scale-4 of intelligence were converted into sign language after establishing indicators of its validity, reliability, and standards within a deaf sample. The study sample comprised 74 deaf students from schools for the deaf in Jordan, aged between 6 and 16 years. The scale was administered using sign language. Furthermore, the validity of the scale was demonstrated through construct validity, content validity, and concurrent validity. The stability of the scale was confirmed through Cronbach’s alpha and the test-retest method. The study’s results indicated that the intelligence levels of the deaf students were within the normal range. The level of behavioral problems was average, with low incidence of aggressive behaviors among children with hearing disabilities. The findings also showed that attention deficit and hyperactivity problems were of a medium level, while school discipline problems were low among children with hearing impairments. Additionally, the study revealed a negative correlation between the level of intelligence both verbal and performance and the level of behavioral problems in children with hearing disabilities. No significant differences in behavioral problems were found based on gender, degree of hearing disability, or age. Finally, the study emphasizes the need for further research to explore the impact of hearing disability on behavioral aspects in deaf individuals. It also recommends training teachers in behavior modification techniques tailored for deaf students

Contracting through Automated Computer Programs according to the Provisions of the Jordanian Civil Law: A Comparative Study

    No full text
Automated software applications are widely used today in the process of forming electronic contracts. Applying traditional contract theory may challenge the ability of automated computer applications to bind users, particularly regarding their participation in the contract formation process and their legal capacity to conclude such contracts. Questions also arise concerning legal liability in cases of errors that may occur during the formation of contracts using these applications. This paper examines the extent to which these applications possess legal personality, enabling them to enter into contractual relations on behalf of the users who choose to utilize them—especially since there is no legal prohibition against their use in various electronic transactions. The variety of terms used to describe these automated programs—such as electronic agents or electronic intermediaries—by lawmakers and jurists may legitimize these programs as parties in legal relationships, authorized to enter into legal obligations. This research also explores the approach of the Jordanian legislator regarding the use of automated computer programs and their capacity to form electronic contracts. It assesses the applicability of general contract principles to their use in contract formation and compares the legal effects in some Arab legislations

Proposals for Reforming the International Monetary System from the Islamic Economy Perspective

    No full text
This research aims to examine various monetary systems proposed by economists in the literature and evaluate proposals within the Islamic economy for reforming the monetary system. The study concludes that money has increasingly become an end in itself rather than a tool for exchange or a standard for measuring value, leading to disruptions in both local and international monetary systems. Additionally, the dominance of the U.S. dollar as the global currency has contributed to numerous international crises. Consequently, most reform proposals in the literature seek to establish a new international monetary system capable of addressing and mitigating these disruptions
