Impact of Nanoparticles on Performance of Metakaolin-Based Geopolymer Mortar

In response to the growing demand for sustainable construction materials, this study explores the transformative potential of nanoparticles, specifically nano silica and Nano clay, to enhance the mechanical and durability properties of metakaolin-based geopolymer mortar without heat curing. Geopolymer mortars incorporating 2.5% and 5% Nano silica and Nano clay were evaluated for compressive strength, tensile strength and water absorption. Mixture with 5% nano silica exhibited the most significant improvements, achieving compressive and tensile strengths of 36 MPa and 3.5 MPa, alongside the lowest water absorption of 4.65%. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) further confirmed the formation of a denser microstructure leading to reduction in porosity and strengthening the base material. These findings underscore the critical role of nanoparticles in advancing metakaolin-based geopolymers, offering a promising path toward high-performance construction materials with superior mechanical properties and durability

Background: Children with visually impairments encounter numerous challenges in maintaining adequate oral hygiene. Their reliance on caregivers limits their ability to utilize visual aids and engage with the medical instructions typically found in standard dental health education programs. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of oral health education (OHE) delivered through two different methods: audio and tactile, on the Knowledge – attitude – behavior (KAB) related to oral health, as well as the oral health status of visually impaired children. Material and Methods: A total of sixty-six visually impaired children, aged 5-18 years, residing at a specialized school for the visually impaired, were selected and randomly assigned into two groups of thirty- three participants each to take part in the oral health education program. Group 1 received audio aids, while Group 2 utilized Braille and tactile aids. The oral health status of the children was evaluated before and after the OHE program, which lasted six months. The program provided essential information and instructions on maintaining good oral hygiene, healthy eating habits, the mechanisms and prevention of dental diseases, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. Results: The study demonstrated a significant reduction in the mean Oral Hygiene Index- Simplified (OHI-S) scores after the implementation of OHE in both groups when compared to baseline measurements. The difference was statistically significant (p Conclusion: The findings suggest that combining audio, Braille & tactile models is effective in enhancing oral health education and improving the oral health status of visually impaired children

The rapid and deadly spread of COVID-19 in 2020 has been accompanied by a wave of panic and fear in several countries around the world. The situation has worsened with the need to comply with drastic measures ranging from barrier gestures to confinement. The challenge was to avoid any risk of contamination that could be fatal both for oneself and for those close to them. The need for information about the situation was accompanied by a pressing need to relieve the malaise that intensified as the virus persisted. As a result, a number of comical content shares about the crisis proliferated on social networks. To identify the implications, we analyzed the discourse of a set of these recordings, which allowed us to recognize the mediating role that these contents played, whether implicitly, explicitly, intentionally or unconsciously

This article is a field study initiated back in 2019 and is carried out until now. This contribution sheds light on the teaching of non-linguistic subjects in Morocco, particularly at the level of first-year junior high school (our target population). We have made a comparative study between the public and private sectors while focusing on the different Moroccan educational reforms, most specifically, the strategic vision 2015-2030, and the framework law 51.17. Our research demonstrates the importance of choosing the language used to teach scientific subjects, from Arabization to francization, its causes, consequences, and obstacles

Sebta / Ceuta : entre marketing architectural Et communication identitaire à Outrance : quelle éthique ?

Spanish architecture, in its volume, aesthetics, and architectural details, is of great importance in its northern Mediterranean context. However, its implantation, its duplication, and, above all, its communication to politics, both cosmopolitan and transnational, without any idealistic or imaginative connection, nor with the local vernacular, the native society, and with the aim of profit and the affirmation of a power apparatus focused on a bygone past, seriously lays the foundations for a communication devoid of ethics or morality

Déréalisation du monde : simulacre et facticité dans la société marchande moderne. Etude du phénomène à la lumière des œuvres de Michel Houellebecq

The Western world today employs an ignominious strategy to induce individuals to favor form over substance, appearance over meaning, and purpose over being. Reality should be wrapped up, truth concealed, authenticity discarded in favor of rapacious advertising that has one and only objective: to induce society to consume

Etude de La Bruyère et de Youssouf Amine Elalamy : peindre les mœurs d’une société

    No full text
Writer of several works of short form, Youssouf Amine Elalamy has a work written in Moroccan Arabic تقرقيب الناب which literally means chatter. This work depicts individuals in portraits inspired by Moroccan society. Like the famous classical philosopher La Bruyère, Elalamy depicts society in various fragments, devoted to different human types. تقرقيب الناب has countless points in common with The Characters. In Elalamy work, like La Bruyère, each portrait is introduced by the first name of the character described. Except that with Elalamy we are dealing with double portraits, he builds them in diptychs. The writer adds to the written form in dialectal Arabic a printed image of a portrait made from pieces of card games very popular in Morocco, the Ronda. From the point of view of form, both works present a collection of texts written in short form of which it will be interesting to study the role of the moralist

The Effectiveness of a Reception Theory-Based Strategy in Improving Literary Appreciation Skills of Tenth Grade Students

    No full text
This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a reception theory-based strategy in improving literary appreciation skills among tenth-grade students. The design included an experimental group of 21 students and a control group of 20 students, randomly assigned from five tenth-grade classes. The strategy based on reception theory was applied, and a test measured four skills of literary appreciation: images, music and imagination; words and structures; ideas and meanings; and emotion. The results showed a statistically significant difference at the significance level (α = 0.05) in literary appreciation skills, both individually and overall, between the performance of the two groups, in favor of the experimental group. The skill of images, music, and imagination ranked first, followed by words and structures in second place, ideas and meanings in third place, and emotion in fourth place. The study recommends Incorporating reception theory-based strategies into the curricula, and working on developing awareness of the importance of these strategies for teachers, as well as methods for their application by learners. It is also recommended that further similar studies need to be conducted, expanded to cover all language skills across all educational stages, to determine the most suitable approaches in light of reception theory

Between Shores: Geophilosophical and Psychogeographical Explorations of Belonging in Abdulrazak Gurnah’s by the Sea (2001)

    No full text
In Abdulrazak Gurnah\u27s work By the Sea (2001), the complex notion of belonging emerges as a central concern, intricately interwoven with the cultural and geographic landscape of the Indian Ocean region. The novel weaves a tapestry of profound geophilosophical and psychogeographical implications, as its primary setting, the coastline, becomes a multifaceted metaphor for the complex human experience of displacement, identity, and the ever-shifting nature of borders, both physical and existential. The vastness and fluidity of the sea, juxtaposed with the solid but permeable shoreline, serves as a symbolic stage upon which the characters\u27 journeys of self-discovery and grappling with their place in the world unfold. Using Deleuze and Guattari’s concepts of deterritorialization and smooth versus striated space, this research paper argues that the geophilosophical and psychogeographical aspects of Gurnah’s by the Sea are expounded to reveal the disturbing undercurrent of colonization and its lingering effects on individual and collective identities in contemporary Africa. Through examining the characters\u27 journeys of self-discovery against the backdrop of colonial history, the analysis illustrates how the fluidity of space and the complexity of belonging shape their experiences of rootlessness and alienation
