    No full text
Today, as the interest in computer security and subsequent research and applications in this direction have increased, new regulations are being made and defense systems are being developed against future threatening scenarios in our country, as in many international states. These regulations must also meet computer security requirements, which may ultimately affect the security of nuclear facilities. Electronic data and computers are generally protected against cyber threats at the target of information and computer security. The aim of this thesis is to ensure that the digital systems in the nuclear supply chain are prepared for all kinds of malicious actions, and for this purpose, to raise awareness about the necessity of providing cyber security in the entire supply chain that may affect not only nuclear facilities but also nuclear security at the same level. It is thought that this thesis will be useful in terms of establishing an information infrastructure on computer security, evaluating possible threats by revealing the functioning mechanism of the nuclear supply chain and developing defense systems that can be revealed in this regard. In this thesis, it will contribute to the strengthening of our country's nuclear infrastructure and listing the success factors that improve cyber security in the nuclear supply chain management by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) by providing the transfer of other country practices and expert opinions

Analysis of the effect of the number of criteria and alternatives on the ranking results in applications of the multi criteria decision making approaches in machining center selection problems

    No full text
Multi criteria machining center selection models are widely used in the literature. In the applications of multi-criteria decision making models, machining center selection criteria are directly taken from catalogues. It is known that to have a ranking model sensitive to the weights of the selection criteria, it is especially important to limit the number of selection criteria to 7 +/- 2. A similar proposal can be put forward for the number of machining centers. In this study, whether or not reducing the number of criteria and alternative machining centers make the ranking results more sensitive to the changes in the criteria weights is studied using Spearman's rank correlation test. The study results show that the ranking results become more sensitive with a reduced number of criteria and alternative machining centers

Insecticidal Activity ofHyoscyamus nigerL. onLucilia sericataCausing Myiasis

Background:Hyoscyamus nigerL. (Solanaceae) generally known as henbane, is commonly distributed in Europe and Asia. In Turkey, henbane seeds have been used in folk medicine to remove worms from the eyes. The present study aimed to investigate the insecticidal activity ofH. nigerseeds. Methods:n-hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol and alkaloid extracts were prepared from the seeds of the plant and their insecticidal activities onLucilia sericatalarvae were evaluated. EC(50)and EC(90)values of the alkaloid extract were calculated and morphological abnormalities were investigated. Results: Alkaloid extract prepared from the seeds of this plant displayed significant insecticidal activity. EC(50)values ofH. nigerseeds alkaloid extract were found to be 8.04, 8.49, 7.96 mu g/mL against first, second and third instar, respectively. It was determined that malformations of larvae included damaged larvae with small size, contraction and weak cuticle. Furthermore, HPLC analysis was performed on alkaloid extract ofH. nigerseeds and main components of the extract were determined. It was determined that alkaloid extract mainly contain hyoscyamine and scopolamine. Conclusions: These results confirm the folkloric usage of the plant and suggest that the alkaloid content of the plant could be responsible for the insecticidal activity
