Occupational risk assessment for flight schools: A 3, 4-quasirung fuzzy multi-criteria decision making-based approach
The concept of occupational risk assessment is related to the analysis and prioritization of the hazards arising in a production or service facility and the risks associated with these hazards; risk assessment considers occupational health and safety (OHS). Elimination or reduction to an acceptable level of analyzed risks, which is a systematic and proactive process, is then put into action. Although fuzzy logic-related decision models related to the assessment of these risks have been developed and applied a lot in the literature, there is an opportunity to develop novel occupational risk assessment models depending on the development of new fuzzy logic extensions. The 3,4-quasirung fuzzy set (3,4-QFS) is a new type of fuzzy set theory emerged as an extension of the Pythagorean fuzzy sets and Fermatean fuzzy sets. In this approach, the sum of the cube of the degree of membership and the fourth power of the degree of non-membership must be less than or equal to 1. Since this new approach has a wider space, it can express uncertain information in a more flexible and exhaustive way. This makes this type of fuzzy set applicable in addressing many problems in multi-criteria decision making (MCDM). In this study, an occupational risk assessment approach based on 3,4-quasirung fuzzy MCDM is presented. Within the scope of the study, the hazards pertaining to the flight and ground training, training management, administrative and facilities in a flight school were assessed and prioritized. The results of existing studies were tested, and we considered both Pythagorean and Fermatean fuzzy aggregation operators. In addition, by an innovative sensitivity analysis, the effect of major changes in the weight of each risk parameter on the final priority score and ranking of the hazards was evaluated. The outcomes of this study are beneficial for OHS decision-makers by highlighting the most prioritized hazards causing serious occupational accidents in flights schools as part of aviation industry. Evaluation of spatial organization of traditional Turkish houses in terms of synchrony and diachrony
Anadolu kültürü çevresinde gelişen geleneksel Türk evinin orijini ve tarihi süreçteki gelişimi ile ilgili farklı yaklaşımlar bulunmakta ve tartışmalara konu olmaktadır. Bu konuyu araştıran kaynaklardan bazıları Türk evinin varlığını ortaya koymakta, orijini ve tarihi süreçteki gelişimi hakkında bilgi içermemektedir. Bir kısım araştırmalar ise Türk evinin orijinini açıklarken günümüze kadarki gelişim sürecini yeterince açıklamamaktadır. Bu alandaki çalışmalarda üç farklı yaklaşım izlenmektedir; birinci yaklaşımda Türk evinin Anadolu kadim kültüründen ortaya çıktığı, ikinci yaklaşımda Orta Asya ve Anadolu konut geleneklerinin etkisiyle geliştiği, son yaklaşımda ise Orta Asya kökenli olup Anadolu’da geliştiği yönündedir. Bu çalışmayla literatürde farklı kaynaklarca ifade edilen mekân organizasyonu (ortak plan şemaları) esas alınarak Türk evinin tarih içindeki ulaşılabilen en eski örneklerinden yola çıkılarak günümüze doğru zaman ve mekân içerisinde aynı zamanda (eş zamanlılık) veya farklı zamanlarda (art zamanlılık) ortaya çıkan benzer mekân organizasyonları üzerinden bir değerlendirme denemesi yapılmaktadır. Böylelikle Türk evinin orijini ve tarihsel süreç içindeki gelişimine ışık tutularak bu alandaki tartışmalara katkıda bulunulması hedeflenmektedir. Bu hedef doğrultusunda Orta Asya, Anadolu’ya geçiş süreci ve Anadolu’daki Türk konut kültürü günümüze kadarki süreçte izlenmiştir. Kapalı, yarı açık ve açık mekanlardan oluşan dış sofalı plan şemasının “art zamanda” (MÖ 2.yy) var olduğu ve günümüzde (eş zamanda) özellikle kırsal bölgelerde varlığını sürdürdüğü görülmektedir. Germinated foods and their effects on health
Bitki filizleri birçok ülkede tüketime hazır sağlıklı gıdalar olarak dikkatleri üzerine çekmektedir. Nem ve sıcaklık başta olmak üzere, ortama besin ilavesi gibi farklı işlemler de optimum çimlen-menin sağlanması için gereklidir. Çimlenme, bitkilerin besin kalitesini iyileştirmek için ucuz ve etkili bir yöntemdir. Geçmişte buğday ve arpa gibi bazı tahıllar başta olmak üzere, baklagillerin çimlendirilmesi de yaygın bir uygulama iken günümüzde yonca, brokoli, soya fasulyesi ve diğer bazı tahıl taneleri çimlendirilerek filiz halinde tüketilmesi söz konusudur. Çimlenmeyle antibesin-sel faktörlerinin miktarı azalmakta; fenolik bileşikler, fitosteroller, folat, gama aminobütirik asit gibi biyoaktif bileşiklerin miktarı, antioksidan aktivite ve sindirilebilirlik de artabilmektedir. Ay-rıca Ɣ-orizanol ve aminoasitler gibi yeni bileşiklerin sentezi de çimlenme sürecinde artmaktadır. Çimlendirilmiş besinlerin birçok fizyolojik etkisinin bulunmasının yanı sıra; bu besinlerin kanser, diyabet, kalp-damar hastalıkları ve nörolojik hastalık gibi hastalık riskinde azalmaya sahip olabi-leceği bildirilmiştir. Bu nedenle çimlendirilmiş besinler fonksiyonel besin olarak kabul edilmek-tedir. Çimlendirilmiş besinlerin çeşitli biyolojik aktiviteleri halen kesin olarak kanıtlanmamıştır. Bu nedenle çimlendirilmiş besinlerin çeşitli biyoaktif bileşen içerikleri ve insan sağlığı üzerindeki etkileriyle ilgili daha fazla sayıda çalışmaya ihtiyaç vardır.Plant sprouts attract attention as ready-to-eat healthy foods in many countries. Different processes such as adding nutrients to the environment, especially humidity and temperature, are also necessary to ensure optimum germination. Germination is an inexpensive and effective method for improving the nutritional quality of plants. In the past, germination of legumes, especially some grains such as wheat and barley, was a common practice, but today, alfalfa, broccoli, soybean and some other cereal grains are germinated and consumed as sprouts. The amount of antinutritional factors decreases with germination; The amount of bioactive compounds such as phenolic compounds, phytosterols, folate, gamma aminobutyric acid, antioxidant activity and digestibility can also increase. In addition, the synthesis of new compounds such as Ɣ-oryzanol and amino acids increases during the germination process. In addition to the many physiological effects of germinated nutrients; It has been reported that these foods may have a decrease in the risk of diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and neurological diseases. Therefore, germinated foods are considered as functional foods. Various biological activities of germinated nutrients have still not been conclusively proven. However, with the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102, the problems faced by the minority in practice were provided with appropriate solutions, and broader rights were granted to the minority. Synergistic effect of piperonyl butoxide on the toxicity of alpha-cypermethrin and deltamethrin against pyrethroid-resistant german cockroach Blattella germanica (Blattodea: Ectobiidae) strains in Turkey
German cockroach (Blattella germanica L. Blattodea: Ectobiidae), a common species in the genus Blattella, is known as a mechanical vector of many pathogens and parasites. Different classes of insecticides are used with synergistic substances to treat cockroach infestations. In this research, we examined the synergistic effect of piperonyl butoxide (PBO) on the toxicity of two pyrethroids (alpha-cypermethrin and deltamethrin) which are insecticides recommended for in-home cockroach control, against four pyrethroid-resistant strains of B. germanica from Turkey. Cockroaches were exposed to both pyrethroids and their combinations with PBO (insecticide: synergistic ratio is 1:0.5). The results show that the PBO has a synergistic effect on the pyrethroid insecticides and the exposure of German cockroaches to PBO significantly suppressed (p ≤ 0.05) resistance to both insecticides.No sponso

The aim of this study is to evaluate both buildup factors and photon attenuation effectiveness of some borate glasses doped by Cd, Fe, V, and Bi. The mass attenuation coefficients (μm) of these glass systems have been
calculated via MCNP6 and GEANT4 computer simulation codes over 0.02–10 MeV energy range and compared with the theoretical results of WinXCOM program. And then, half-value layer, (HVL), mean free path (MFP), and
effective atomic number (Zeff) for the different content based glasses have been determined. Through G-P fitting process, exposure buildup factors (EBF) have been found in the energy range of 0.015–15 MeV up to 40 mfp. It

Classification of diabetic cardiomyopathy-related cells using machine learning
The patch-clamp technique is a significant tool in current electrophysiology research, especially
in cardiovascular diseases, because it can capture electrical activity of the heart from cardiomyocytes. It
is challenging to classify action potential waveforms in cardiological data from these recordings because
it relies largely on professional assistance. We discovered that supervised classification may be used to
predict the impact of electrophysiological perturbations on cardiomyopathic action potential groups in
rat ventricular cells. At the cellular level, action potential classifications are utilized to discern between
pathological and control waveforms in recorded cardiac action potentials. The four groups are as follows:
(1) control, (2) diabetes, (3) diabetes with angiotensin, and (4) angiotensin. The signal’s biologically
relevant features for the treatment of cardiomyopathy have been discovered. After they have been trained
with different sets of features, the results of the seven machine learning models are compared. The knearest neighbor approach, along with the decision tree and random forest algorithms, is the best classifier
for diagnosing aberrant action potential waveforms, with an accuracy of above 99% when compared to other
models. The high classification accuracy demonstrates that the gathered individual cardiac AP features
provide useful information regarding the pathological status of cardiomyocytes.No sponso
