An evaluation of big data, emotions, language and ethics
Teknolojinin
hayatın her alanına temas ettiği içinde bulunduğumuz yüzyılda internetin kullanımı, insanların sınırsız
As a result of human-machine interaction, big data of gigantic size, high speed and variety contributes to the development of many new disciplines for social science research due to its potential to collect, organise and analyse information. This discipline, called psycho-informatics, uses computer science to predict human emotions, thoughts and behaviours. In the current century, where technology touches every aspect of life, the use of the internet enables people to access unlimited information very quickly, as well as creating unlimited information by leaving traces in the digital world. Today, when we look at the studies in this field, it is seen that in the international literature, there are mostly studies on predicting individuals' personality traits; smartphone, social media and internet usage behaviours; psychological health and problematic behaviours. While the present study aims to draw attention to psycho-informatics, a brief overview of psycho-informatics is presented and ethical problems that may arise are discussed. It seems to be a priority for researchers working in fields such as psychology, linguistics and computer sciences to be informed about the basic ethical standards in order to carry out joint studies and to carry out healthy studies. No sponso

Effect of berberine and evodiamine on colorectal cancer
Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, despite significant advances in its diagnosis and treatment. The incidence of colorectal cancer, which is the third most common cancer worldwide, increases in individuals under the age of 50 years. Despite advances in diagnosis and treatment methods, the prognosis of colon cancer still remains poor. Increasing prevalence of colorectal cancer in recent years; has led to the discovery of many new, effective and promising compounds. Herbal nutraceuticals; It has become the focus of attention in recent years due to its harmless structures, versatile abilities to prevent treatment resistance, potential to heal harmful side effects of cancer treatments, low costs, and ease of use. Berberine and evodiamine, which are among these nutraceuticals, are two types of alkaloids with important health effects. These compounds generally have anticarcinogenic effect; it shows through controlling the growth and survival of cells, inducing apoptosis, inhibiting migration, controlling the cell cycle, down-modulating the expression of many cancer-associated genes, influencing many cancer-associated pathways, and promoting autophagy. Studies on the effects of berberine and evodiamine on colon cancer are limited and more studies are needed. No sponso
“Who am I?” A qualitative meta‑synthesis of chemotherapy‐induced alopecia and body image perception in breast cancer patients
Background Since alopecia may be the frst physical evidence and sign of cancer diagnosis and treatment, it may have a
more serious and challenging efect on a woman than the loss of breast tissue.
Objective The purpose of this study was to summarize the current qualitative research which explores the body image perceptions of breast cancer patients with chemotherapy-induced alopecia.
Material and methods We searched three electronic databases and reviewed studies from December 2011 to December
2021 for qualitative results analysing the experiences of women with breast cancer and chemotherapy-induced alopecia. The
Joanna Briggs Institute critical (JBI) appraisal tool was used to assess the quality of the targeted studies. The Meta-synthesis
process developed by Sandelowski and Barroso was used to collect and analyse the data.
Results We discovered two main and fve sub-themes from the meta-synthesis fndings of 11 qualitative studies involving
225 women. The main themes were “I am not comfortable in this body” and “Who am I?”. The frst main theme revealed
patients’ intense reactions to their hair loss: “I'm in emotional chaos”, “I am looking for a place to hide” and “I knew it and
now I’m experiencing it”.The second main theme of “Who am I?” contained two sub-themes: “What did my hair take from
my femininity when it was gone?” and “Will I lose my partner after my hair?”.
Conclusion Meta-synthesis provided an up-to-date and integrated interpretation of scientifc results about the experiences
of women with breast cancer, alopecia, and their body image perceptions. This interpretation will facilitate a more comprehensive understanding of the alopecia-body image relationship. Thus, the aim of the meta-synthesis results is that these
will contribute to nurses’ understanding of how alopecia, although a temporary symptom, afects women's perceptions of
body image.No sponso

Size optimization of planar truss systems using the modified salp swarm algorithm
This work evaluates the performance of the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) for truss system optimization problems and presents a novel method called the modified salp swarm algorithm (MSSA). Five truss structures, previously optimized by metaheuristics and containing discrete and continuous variables, were used for the evaluations. Size and size–shape optimization types were considered. Although the SSA performs poorly and has convergence issues in initial random solutions, it reaches comparable solutions to previously published results, particularly in continuous problems. In contrast, the MSSA achieves the best solutions for discrete problems and is relatively close to the best results in the reference literature on continuous problems. Moreover, the MSSA convergence curves exhibit a modest increase in convergence rates, especially for discrete problems. It is envisaged that the findings will contribute to improving solution performance, convergence speed and security for future real-world applications. No sponso
Calculation of double differential neutron cross-sections of 56Fe and 90Zr isotopes
This study is concerned with the calculations of double differential neutron cross-sections of the structural fusion materials of 56Fe and 90Zr isotopes that are bombarded with protons. Calculations were performed using the level density models of the TALYS 1.95 code and PHITS 3.22 Monte Carlo code. Constant Temperature Fermi Gas, Back Shifted Fermi Gas, and Generalized Super Fluid Models were employed for level density models. Calculations were performed at 22.2 MeV proton energies. Calculations were compared with the experimental data taken from Experimental Nuclear Reaction Data (EXFOR). In conclusion, the results showed that the level density model results of TALYS 1.95 codes for the double differential neutron cross-sections of 56Fe and 90Zr isotopes are consistent with experimental data. On the other hand, PHITS 3.22 results gave lower cross-section values than experimental data at 120 and 150°.No sponso
