Developing the AMPHORA policy guidelines for heritage projects as mental health interventions: a Delphi consultation
Engaging with heritage to support mental health and wellbeing has become a focus of research and policy, more recently moving towards social prescription of heritage interventions. While there are benefits to active participation, there are potential risks to those taking part and to the non-renewable historic remains and landscape that form the core of these projects. The purpose of the current research was to develop best practice guidelines for organisations offering heritage projects as interventions for people who live with mental health issues to protect both participants and heritage. There were two research phases; a Sandpit with World Café discussions to produce a set of research priorities, and a Delphi Consultation, employing three questionnaires distributed over six months, to develop best practice guidelines. The panel in both phases comprised experts through lived experience, policy, practice, and research. The AMPHORA guidelines cover three stages: Project Development, Project Delivery, and Project Follow up, with a set of action points for each stage. Of particular importance was authentic participation and expertise to ensure appropriate management of heritage/ historic environment assets and support for participants. The AMPHORA guidelines can assist all organisations in the delivery of safe projects that support the mental health of those involved, as well as enhancing and protecting the historic environment. These are the first research-led guidelines that help heritage organisations support those living with mental health issues

Ship collision avoidance is crucial in maritime navigation and a significant challenge is translating the Collision Regulations (COLREG) into collision avoidance algorithms suitable for fully autonomous ships. To investigate, a mixed-method experimental research of criteria-based subjective performance was undertaken. This mixed approach involved gathering quantitative data through bridge simulator experiments and qualitative data through subjective assessments conducted by maritime simulation lecturers. Bridge simulators were effectively adapted to serve as a testing bed for autonomous navigation. During the algorithm validation stage, it became obvious the main challenge was to overcome the variety and subjectivity of COLREGs and the diverse ways seafarers take to avoid collisions in various situations. ‘Seamanship ordinary practice of seamen’ or by ‘the special circumstances of the case’ was a huge challenge for developing machine interpretation algorithms. The results achieved in the simulation trials uniquely identified the benefits of using iterative testing and development in collaboration with experienced seafarers and software developers
Exhibiting power: dark tourism and crime in the police museum
This chapter discusses the representations of crime in state-run police museums, which are found around the world with varying foci. As state institutions, these museums function as an expression of official narratives of justice, control, and state-sanctioned morality, all of which come in the guise of edutainment. The approach taken here is a critical stance on ideologies, hegemony, and power. Methodologically, this chapter employs critical discourse analysis to appraise how information is presented within three diverse contexts: the Polismuseet in Stockholm, Sweden; the Police & Justice Museum in Sydney, Australia; and the Police Museum in Hong Kong, China. Through a comparative analysis, this chapter critically engages with the dichotomy inherent in crime as an attraction within the context of state power
The city as escape room: place, participation, meaning, and affect
Through the lens of ecologies of belonging, The City as Escape Room transfers a simple and commonly held understanding of the escape room into a metaphor that reveals a complex layering of place, participation, and affect in meaning-making for transmedia storytellers. It situates the city as a play space where community participation, meaning-making, and co-creation are interwoven as meaningful story experiences. By mirroring the practice of urban foraging, the discussion explores transmedia storytelling as a form of sympoiesis that brings into being a shared memory, a becoming-with the city for the community that resides within. Avoiding the common placemaking tropes associated with public sector marketing and economic (re)generation, city-wide transmedia storytelling is instead considered a form of speculative fabulation that can defamiliarize the familiar and generate affective story experiences. The offering of a case study that contrasts commercial and community-driven transmedia experiences further illuminates how immersive experience design can take hold of a city as a play space and render it as a meaningful story experience

A robust framework for ensuring data confidentiality and security in modern healthcare networks
The potential implementation of extensive data sharing in dispersed network systems is likely to give rise to concerns surrounding privacy, secrecy, and authentication inside the realm of cyberspace. The main objective of this work is to safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of data inside an unsecured environment during the exchange of audiovisual content between two Internet of Things (IoT) nodes. To effectively counteract an adversary and guarantee the confidentiality of data, we suggest the implementation of a resilient multi-level security strategy that relies on the principles of information hiding and chaos theory. While certain block-based resilient data concealing strategies based on the transform domain have demonstrated favorable outcomes, their suboptimal block and coefficient selection processes lead to inadequate performance against prevalent cyber-attacks. Therefore, we propose a Robust Framework for Ensuring Data Confidentiality and Security in EHR-based networks using federated-learning with homomorphic-encryption. A differential-privacy technique is used here to increase privacy, which entails adding noise to the aggregated model update. The suggested model outperforms the most recent techniques for data security and secrecy in networks based on electronic health records
Antecedents of driving customer purchase intention via AI based customer engagement strategies in the post pandemic era
This study explores the antecedents that affect customer purchase intention in the post-pandemic era, specifically through AI (Artificial Intelligence) based customer engagement strategies. By analyzing a sample size of at least 147 social media users in Sri Lanka and examining demographic profiles such as age, gender, occupation, and average monthly income, this research addresses a gap in the literature by investigating the positive impact of AI on conversion rate optimization. The study focuses on the factors of brand credibility, customer satisfaction, price sensitivity, brand attitude, and social influence, and their impact on consumer purchase intention in the context of AI-based customer engagement. This research rejects some hypotheses related to brand credibility, price sensitivity, and social influence, and accepts others related to customer satisfaction and brand attitude. It highlights the importance of customer satisfaction and brand attitude in driving consumer purchase intention in the context of AI-based customer engagement. The findings provide valuable insights for businesses and marketers seeking to optimize AI strategies for improved customer engagement and higher conversion rates

Exploring the dose-response relationship between estimated resistance training proximity to failure, strength gain, and muscle hypertrophy: a series of meta-regressions
Background: The proximity to failure in which sets are terminated has gained attention in the scientific literature as a potentially key resistance training variable. Multiple meta-analyses have directly (i.e., failure versus not to failure) or indirectly (e.g., velocity loss, alternative set structures) evaluated the effect of proximity to failure on strength and muscle hypertrophy outcomes categorically; however, the dose–response effects of proximity to failure have not been analyzed collectively in a continuous manner. Objective: To meta-analyze the aforementioned areas of relevant research, proximity to failure was quantified as the number of repetitions in reserve (RIR). Importantly, the RIR associated with each effect in the analysis was estimated on the basis of the available descriptions of the training interventions in each study. Data were extracted and a series of exploratory multilevel meta-regressions were performed for outcomes related to both strength and muscle hypertrophy. A range of sensitivity analyses were also performed. All models were adjusted for the effects of load, method of volume equating, duration of intervention, and training status. Results: The best fit models for both strength and muscle hypertrophy outcomes demonstrated modest quality of overall fit. In all of the best-fit models for strength, the confidence intervals of the marginal slopes for estimated RIR contained a null point estimate, indicating a negligible relationship with strength gains. However, in all of the best-fit models for muscle hypertrophy, the marginal slopes for estimated RIR were negative and their confidence intervals did not contain a null point estimate, indicating that changes in muscle size increased as sets were terminated closer to failure. Conclusions: The dose–response relationship between proximity to failure and strength gain appears to differ from the relationship with muscle hypertrophy, with only the latter being meaningfully influenced by RIR. Strength gains were similar across a wide range of RIR, while muscle hypertrophy improves as sets are terminated closer to failure. Considering the RIR estimation procedures used, however, the exact relationship between RIR and muscle hypertrophy and strength remains unclear. Researchers and practitioners should be aware that optimal proximity to failure may differ between strength and muscle hypertrophy outcomes, but caution is warranted when interpreting the present analysis due to its exploratory nature. Future studies deliberately designed to explore the continuous nature of the dose–response effects of proximity to failure in large samples should be considered
