E-reversibility of rings via quasinilpotents
The reversible property of rings was introduced by Cohn and has important generalizations in non commutative ring theory. In this paper, reversibility of rings is investigated in relation with quasinilpotents and idempotents, and our argument is spread out based on this. We call a ring R Qnil e-reversible if for any a, b ? R, being ab = 0 implies bae ? Rqnil for a prescribed idempotent e ? R, where R-qnil denotes the set of all quasinilpotent elements of R. In the first, we determine the set Rqnil for some classes of rings to investigate the structure of Qnil e-reversible rings. In the second, we use R-qnil to define Qnil e-reversibility of rings. The notion of Qnil e-reversible ring is a proper generalization of that of e-semicommutative ring, Qnil-semicommutative ring, e-reversible ring and right (left) quasi-duo ring. We obtain some relations between a ring and its quotient rings in terms of Qnil e-reversibility. Applications via some ring extensions and examples illustrating our results are provided

We study mapping properties of commutators of classical operators of harmonic analysis - commutators of maximal, singular and fractional operators in a new vanishing subspace of Orlicz-Morrey spaces. We show that the vanishing property defining that subspace is preserved under the action of those operators
A Holıstıc Vıew Of The Tourıst Experıence Of Generatıon Z
This paper seeks to find out what the characteristics of the tourist experience of Generation Z are. The research was designed using qualitative research techniques. Interviews were conducted with 139 young tourists living in 45 different provinces in Turkey and were analyzed using content analysis. Generation Z has a limited budget for travel. They need to devise certain strategies to cope with this. Escape from everyday life is their most important motivation in travel. The idea that the best time to travel is school and youth years. Young tourists find cultural, historical, and architectural elements interesting and are interested in traditional cuisine. They prefer types of transportation that they have not experienced before. © 2023 Akdeniz University Publishing House. All rights reserved
The assessment of the knowledge and practices of healthcare providers regarding paroxysmal non-epileptic events (PNES) in children: A cross-sectional study
Objective: Paroxysmal non-epileptic events (PNEs) are a group of disorders that may be misdiagnosed as epilepsy. This study has aimed to assess the knowledge and practices of family physicians and pediatricians regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of PNEs in children.Methods: The study was designed as a prospective cross-sectional study that was conducted between March 1, 2022, and June 1, 2022, by reaching pediatric specialists and assistants, family physicians, subspecialty assistants, and subspecialists using a Google questionnaire. The survey consists of 26 questions. The questionnaire used by the researchers was prepared in accordance with the literature search and it included detailed questions on the diagnosis, treatment, and differential diagnosis of PNEs.Results: A total of 37.3% worked as specialists. Most of the participants (41.3%) have worked in training and research hospitals, and 44.3% have been physicians for 6-10 years. The mean and standard deviation for the total score were 10.1 +/- 2.6. The scores of family physicians were statistically lower than those of specialists, subspecialty assistants, and subspecialists. A total of 67.2% left the decision of whether the patient should stop taking their medication to another clinician. 45% of the doctors said that they were uncomfortable with the diagnosis.Significance: The study findings emphasized the significant knowledge gap among healthcare providers regarding PNEs in children, highlighting the need for targeted educational interventions to improve their understanding and diagnostic skills in this area
Covıd-19’un Yerli Turistlerin Seyahat Motivasyonu Ve Satın Alma Davranışı Üzerindeki Etkisi
Çin’in Wuhan şehrinde başlayarak hızla tüm dünyaya yayılan koronavirüs (Covid-19) insan
sağlığını yüksek seviyede tehdit etmesi nedeniyle hayatın değişmesine neden olmuştur. Covid-
19’dan korunmak amacıyla hem bireysel hem kitlesel olarak tedbirler alınmaya çalışılmaktadır.
Ülkeler Covid-19’un yayılma riskini en aza indirmek için kısıtlamalara gitmek zorunda kalmıştır.
Yapılan bu kısıtlamalar tüm dünyada hem ekonomik hem de psikolojik olarak olumsuzluklar
yaratmaya başlamıştır. Bütün sektörlerde olduğu gibi turizm sektörü de Covid-19’dan ciddi derecede
etkilenmiştir. Özellikle pandeminin ilan edilmesinin ardından uluslararası seyahat kısıtlamaları
uygulanması ve bunun üzerine ülkelerin ulusal seyahat kısıtlamalarına da başvurmak durumunda
kalmış olması nedeniyle genel anlamda seyahat sektörü çok büyük bir yara almıştır. Yaşanan bu
gelişmeler insanların seyahat etmesini engellemiş ve bu durum turizm sektörünün durma noktasına
gelmesine neden olmuştur. İnsanların yapılan kısıtlamalar sebebiyle evlerinde kalmaları genel yaşam
biçimlerini etkilemiştir. Çoğunlukla evde geçen bu dönemde, insanların teknolojiye olan ilgisi
artmıştır. İnsanların tüketim alışkanlıkları değişmeye başlamış ve bu bağlamda genel tüketici
davranışlarında değişimler meydana gelmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı Covid-19’un tüketicilerin
seyahat davranışlarına etkisini ölçmektir. Bu doğrultuda konuyla ilgili literatür taranmış ve
tüketicilere anket yoluyla sorular sorularak Covid-19’un seyahat davranışlarına etkileri incelenmiştir.
Araştırmada ulaşılan sonuçlara göre Covid-19 tüketicilerin seyahat davranışlarını olumsuz bir
şekilde etkilemiştir. Aynı zamanda genel hayatlarına ve hijyen algılarına da olumsuz bir etkide
bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın ilgili literatüre katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir
Quantifying climate change impacts on hydropower production under CMIP6 multi-model ensemble projections using SWAT model
This study assesses the effects of climate change on hydropower production in the most threatened highlands region of the Euphrates-Tigris Basin, with the case of the Dipni Project. This evaluation is based on the precipitation and temperature predictions of the multi-model ensembles produced by analysing the simulations of 24 global circulation models (GCMs) from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6). The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model is utilized to estimate the future inflow rates of the Dipni reservoir under the Shared Socio-economic Pathway (SSP) scenarios of SSP245 and SSP585. The 25-year reservoir operations conducted in the past and three future periods indicate possible decreases of up to 10.1% and 21.5% in the annual energy production under the SSP245 and SSP585 scenarios, respectively. The results show the need to take adaptive measures against the projected impacts of climate change to achieve the targeted return for the coming decades
Nutritional practices in medical intensive care units: Multicenter, one-day point prevalence study
Background/Aim: Nutritional planning is an important aspect of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care. The present study aimed to evaluate the nutritional practices adopted in medical ICUs in Turkiye and to investigate their compliance with current international guidelines. Methods: This multicenter, cross-sectional study was performed on a predetermined study date. Centers were required to fill three groups of questionnaires: One on ICU characteristics and facilities, one on patients included, and one on outcomes of patients. Forms on patients had questions on demographics and their nutritional status. Results: A total of 12 sites participated and 132 patients were recorded in the study and 109 patients were included in analyses. The median age was 72 [57–83] years and 55 (50%) of them was female. The median APACHE II score was 23 [18–29], median SOFA score was 6 [4–9] and median BMI was 25.32 [21.22–29.38]. More than 50% of patients were fed enterally; for most, it was started within the first 24 hours of admission. On the study day, the median energy intake of the patients during the last 24 hours was 21.62 [15.9–27.3] kcal/kg and the median amount of protein intake was 1.02 [0.7–1.3] g/kg, representing 83.1% and 78.9% of the targets, respectively. A total of 64 (58.7%) patients were alive on the 28th day of the study, of them 23 (21.1% of all patients) were still in the ICU. Conclusion: Nutrition therapy in medical ICUs was initiated early after ICU admission, the enteral route was preferred and target calories were calculated using weight-based formulas. These results suggest that multi-dimensional planning of critical care management of patients by intensivists may provide better nutritional care for the critically ill. © 2023 Société francophone nutrition clinique et métabolisme (SFNCM
Using online photovoice and community-based participatory research to understand facilitators and barriers to online distance education during COVID-19
In this study, we used online photovoice and community-based participatory research to understand and address facilitators and barriers to online distance education for college students in Turkey. Out of 260 students who consented to the study, 240 shared the most important facilitator, 190 shared the most important barriers, and 190 completed our contextual questions related to their education. We used online interpretative phenomenological analysis to identify key facilitators and barriers. Ten main facilitator themes emerged, including advantages of using Internet and technology (n = 104; 43%); enjoyable feelings (n = 61; 25%); saving time (n = 37; 15%); and social support (n = 28; 12%). Nine main barrier themes emerged, including challenges of online education (n = 51; 31%); psychopathology and unenjoyable feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations (n = 37; 19%); Internet problems (n = 34; 18%); and COVID-19 restrictions (n = 30; 16%). © 2023 Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia, Inc
Measuring the impacts of monetary policy in Turkey: an extended structural vector autoregressive model with structural breaks
The goal of this paper is to measure the impacts of monetary policy shocks in Turkey using monthly data spanning the period 2011:M01–2021:M12. To that end, the paper extends the structural vector autoregressive (SVAR) methodology with structural breaks. The findings show that a positive monetary policy shock, namely an increase in interest rates, results in a decrease in consumer prices and the exchange rate. The findings also exhibit that a positive shock in the exchange rate, namely the depreciation of the TRY against foreign currencies, increases interest rates and consumer prices. The implications of these findings in terms of monetary policy in Turkey are discussed in the paper. © 2022, Japan Economic Policy Association (JEPA)
Vibration of a Two-Layer “Metal+PZT” Plate Contacting with Viscous Fluid
The present work investigates the mechanically forced vibration of the hydro-elasto-piezoelectric system consisting of a two-layer plate “elastic+PZT”, a compressible viscous fluid, and a rigid wall. It is assumed that the PZT (piezoelectric) layer of the plate is in contact with the fluid and time-harmonic linear forces act on the free surface of the elastic-metallic layer. This study is valuable because it considers for the first time the mechanical vibration of the metal+piezoelectric bilayer plate in contact with a fluid. It is also the first time that the influence of the volumetric concentration of the constituents on the vibration of the hydro-elasto-piezoelectric system is studied. Another value of the present work is the use of the exact equations and relations of elasto-electrodynamics for elastic and piezoelectric materials to describe the motion of the plate layers within the framework of the piecewise homogeneous body model and the use of the linearized Navier-Stokes equations to describe the flow of the compressible viscous fluid. The plane-strain state in the plate and the plane flow in the fluid take place. For the solution of the corresponding boundary-value problem, the Fourier transform is used with respect to the spatial coordinate on the axis along the laying direction of the plate. The analytical expressions of the Fourier transform of all the sought values of each component of the system are determined. The origins of the searched values are determined numerically, after which numerical results on the stress on the fluid and plate interface planes are presented and discussed. These results are obtained for the case where PZT-2 is chosen as the piezoelectric material, steel and aluminum as the elastic metal materials, and Glycerin as the fluid. Analysis of these results allows conclusions to be drawn about the character of the problem parameters on the frequency response of the interfacial stress. In particular, it was found that after a certain value of the vibration frequency, the presence of the metal layer in the two-layer plate led to an increase in the absolute values of the above interfacial stress. © 2023 Tech Science Press.
